    I have a 2002 Intruder the pre-runner to the Boulevard. I installed a set of Cobra Dragster pipes and she will wake up the dead with those pipes. Breathes so much better.

    The power increase was noticeable. I'm happy with the Cobra FI controller. At the time I got a deal on the exhaust and needed the controller but was short on money. If I could have afforded it I would have gone with the Vance and Hines exhaust and controller. But I am happy with what I got.

    Cool. I have a 2006 with the touring package. It's got 90,000 on it and still strong. Yours has a nice sound, but I don't think mine's too quiet. My reason for opening up the exhaust would be to give it some more oomph. It's a bit on the gutless side compared to the 1200 cc V4 I had before.

    • @channell11
      @channell11 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pipes aren't going to give you that much. Opening up the intake (get an open top K&N) and a fuel controller to account for it is going to make the biggest difference.

      I love my C90. The only downside is the gas tank is just over 3 gallons, so I have to fill up every 120 miles.

      @@seangrogan4829 ya I heard about that and the actual tank is under the seat? I'm trying to find a video or picture of someone getting gas lol.. I'll ask you, do you fill up normal place where the tank would be?

    • @seangrogan4829
      @seangrogan4829  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. At about 15 seconds in the video when I show the skull and crossed axes, that is on the access door to the gas cap. The actual tank is under the seat. I think it helps keep the center of gravity low so it's an easy ride.

    This may be an ignorant question, but did you have to bring it anywhere to have it tuned after changing the pipes? Or did the controller fix the backfire issues?

    • @seangrogan4829
      @seangrogan4829  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't take it anywhere. The controller helped, and I eventually removed the pair valve. That made a difference. I still get a backfire every once in a while. But nothing like before.

    • @jake82890
      @jake82890 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had stock pipes on my c90t since 06. I never changed them because my bike is my main source of transportation and I cant afford to have it out of commission for even a day. Do you think it would still run well enough to get around without the controller?

    • @seangrogan4829
      @seangrogan4829  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new exhaust will change the flow of the system. I don't think it would be enough to kill it. But it will ride different and probably idle rough... Or not start... I'm an amateur mechanic, I don't know for sure. You should probably do more research before you take a chance on your only ride. The controller adjusts the amount of fuel the injectors send while idling/cruising, accelerating, and at high RPM. There are three switches you can adjust. My controller is very basic (cheaper, under $200), but there are others that get more intricate.

    • @channell11
      @channell11 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'll probably be okay. Pipes aren't going to affect the air-fuel ratio much, and you don't really need a fuel controller for them. If you start changing the intake and adding more air flow into the engine, you'll run lean if you don't correct the fuel. Most bikes run a little lean from the factory, which is why many experience improvement from adding a controller to a stock bike or one with just pipes.

      The only problem I know of, and am starting to notice on my bike is with the charging system for the battery. I keep it on a battery tender when parked in my garage but when I go for rides I can only get 4 or 5 starts before the battery is too weak to turn it over. I found in Boulevard groups that many other people had this problem and there was a potential fix for it. I plan on doing it this season. Google search "Boulevard mod 3". Other than that, and the gas tank being a little small, this has been a great bike.
