Days Gone is another one of those games that has had its reputation ruined by a handful of well-established review companies and then seen its reputation rebuilt by the gamers themselves, taking to metacritic to voice their beliefs about Days Gone and their opinions of the scores that these supposed experts gave the game
Days Gone isn’t without its flaws but the 5’s and 6’s that it got across the board was a unified shambolic collection of misguided opinions and after playing the game myself on the PS4 when it released, before I even started this channel, it genuinely shocked me to see how different the opinions of others can differ from mine. That’s a good thing really and thankfully I’m not alone in thinking Days Gone deserved much higher praise than it originally got.

I just played this game for the first time on ps5 and I give it a straight 10/10! The story and the graphics were amazing, the scenery was beautiful and felt like I was there. One of the best zombie games I’ve ever played hands down!!
just played this for the first time on PS5 and it is easily one of the best games ive ever played. growing up in Oregon made the setting even more cool and relatable. the story, the open world, the combat, everything about it was perfect. it's about $15 on g2a and on PS Plus, definitely worth the price across the board

I bought this game for PC and immediately jumped into survival mode. Loved playing without the HUD, have ran out of gas only once and the immersion it brought with it. Stop by camps. Stock up. Plot bike route, gas station stops. Loot buildings and cars when supplies get a little low. Learned all kinds of crazy off road bike routes and everything without the game holding my hand. Pure kino
Just finished this game on PC and this is now my favorite all time game. Absolutely loved the story, it’s the first time I enjoyed a game enough to look into the studio that made it. Dopamine hit is gonna last a full day lol.

Absolutely incredible game. The story throws you into every emotion and the ganeplay itself has a lot going for it. If youre the type of person who can slow down enough to mindfully enjoy and experience a story, you're in for a real treat. Days Gone is easily in my top 5, kaybe top 3 games of all time. I truly look forward to a sequel or follow up game more so than any other title. The dev truly put alot of soul into this game and it shows the entire time. Absolutely incredible game. So good that my wife sat next to me watching and enjoying the story nearly as much as i Did as the actual player. Very few titles have ever been good enough for that.

As someone who just recently beat the game for a second time. This game is INCREDIBLE. It doesn't get as much recognition and it's just such a beautiful story and unique way of putting things and the way zombies work with the open world. I really hope they decide to continue making the 2nd game or even remaster the first🙏

Great game, Great story... not completed it yet, but utterly invested in Deacons character and those around him... already looking forward to playing it through again. Cannot see why anyone had any issues with this game... and would love to see a franchise out of this
This is definitely a classic title. It just has such an addicting gameplay loop. The open world is minimal without all the clutter. I played this every night for 6 weeks straight, I'm replaying it again now.
One of the few games I happily platinumed..I still love watching people's hoard videos to remind me of the rush it was taking them on..great game
It's among my top five games I ever played. I am in so love with the game's realism, great storytelling and game mechanics. It really feels scary to go out in days gone and that comfort of safety when you are in a safe house or bunker. The scare and you can get attacked anytime by hordes or a bunch of freakers is unnerving. I am really loving the game so far. Played for like 5 to 6 days now. Hope they make days gone 2.
I bought the game on steam and i got to say it´s way better than i thought it would be, the voice acting it´s amazing and it´s really fun to play, i´ll play it several times for sure

I always thought about this game that why it didn't became so popular as it should be. Like this is still now one of the best open world AAA zombie game but still the company said at the time they won't be making any sequel for this one cause of they did not got the profit they thought of. I have this as one of my favorite games of all time. I personally have a very high regard for it and rate high up with the Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and The Last of Us games. I would love Days Gone 2 and would pick it up at release with no hesitation.

Not everything needs to be a franchise. That being said, a sequal that improves on the firsts faults while expanding the things that work is always welcome.
This game is dope. I’ve played it twice and both times I’ve had a blast. I’ve recommended this game to people because it’s a great game.
I saw the game being reviewed on PC and Steam Deck and coincidentally my friends at work had been talking about it only a couple of months before. So I grabbed it on sale and it was one of the best games I've played in years. The critics were way off base imho. Just looking at the Steam reviews I think the game is averaging 91/92 out of 100 and that feels fair. Maybe the game was more buggy during the PS4 release and certainly I encountered a few glitches of my own, but they didn't ruin the overall experience and I happily sunk over 100 hours into the game.
You have to feel if they released a second game it would have a much, much better launch as it's got an established fan base now.

No question. Yes you should buy because its a fantastic game. The switch from story to story is great. One minute you are in the town and the next you are working for a Colonel on a base and the transition is seemless however it does feel like the Colonel part was rushed.

Nahhhhhhhh…..ELDEN RING/FALLOUT 3/RDR2 are masterpieces…..This is just a fun game that brings some new things to the table (bike, hordes). But its also a step back from a lot of open world games in the same genre (cant customize guns or character, nothing to do in the open world other than main quests and bunch of clear camp/fetch item side quests. No random encounters. Somewhat boring world design, u cant swim in 3 feet of fucking water) but i definitely think it is worth playing for free on psn. the things it does well it does really well.

I recently bought it. I am having a ton of fun playing it. I still haven’t cleared a horde yet because when they gather and run I immediately panic and gtfo lol 😂

They're hard to beat at first but once you get the hang of it they start dropping fast...Love this game I got it loading up again 3rd run through.

Days gone is hands down one of my favourite games and I was one of those people to get it when it was on sale 😬 the reason being the game showed promise through trailers and gameplay etc but it didn’t seem game changing. Boy was I wrong though as I’ve now played and 100% the game 3 times and seeing this I kinda wanna go for a 4th 😂 I am very sad though that there is a possibility that a 2nd one won’t come out even though I think there is so much potential seeing how it ended.

I only played this game on ps5 and absolutely loved it. Second game after rd2 that I've replayed upon completion. A moments silence for all the underwear massacred the first time people encountered a horde.
controling the bike is harder than expected... but i love the game as a whole. 9/10

I just bought the game like a week ago. Phenomenal. I'm so shocked that this got low ratings. I found out about the game when they threw out a teaser of the horde gameplay. I was blown away but never got the chance to buy it. Perfect zombie game. Shame they won't make a sequel
Having just finished this game I easily place it in my top 5 games of all time. There are issues, the storyline isn't groundbreaking and there are a few other challanges but the voice acting is fantastic, Deacon & Boozer are by far the best! Hands down the most memorable aspects of the game is the world & enviroment - nothing is 'safe or easy' as going for a quick ride to the nearby camp. I can't recall how many times I ran into a group of mauraders waiting to ambush me at the petrol station, chased by wild wolves or turned a corner and unexpected stumble across a horder! Pure terror!
Most of the bugs were ironed out on my playthrough but its was a brillant game and deserves more respect. Would love a sequal so lets hope things change
Just finished Days Gone on ps5 and it's one of the best games I've ever played. 10/10 story, 10/10 gameplay, 10/10 for their open world design + how beautiful it looks + great graphics + excellent performance.
And I was blown away by how long this game was. So much happens from start to finish and I'm pretty sure you're rewarded with a "good ending" by completing all side missions and maxing out all trust levels.

The premise of the story is fucking simple, But the way it plays out is fantastic. Especially when boozer wanted to die in that horde, And how protective deek is with him because he is the only one he has and he doesnt want to lose anyone anymore. Labor camp was fantastic but it lacks narrative, Copeland is mid but its okay. Iron mike's camp is fantastic, Nero checkpoints are an awesome idea especially those with hordes. I hope there's a days gone 2 but with other character like someone from cali or new york then meeting up with deek for raids against nero, Hordes and other type of freaks
I played this two playthroughs of this game couple years ago and am currently replaying another playthrough now I got my PS5 and I'm loving it but as for the oil filter silencers out of all my playing time I have only found 4 silencers three of which are at start of game in tutorial section basically and the fourth I couldn't pick up because you can only hold one

I'll tell ya, I low-key loved Days Gone. 100%ed it twice. Loved the world, the characters , the bike riding, the hordes.
One memorable moment was running out of gas at night early game and desperately searching for fuel while trying to avoid zombies. Having a real survival horror feeling. And then there was the first time I ran right into a horde cresting a hill in my bike. Terrifying!
It was pretty buggy on release but I think players have done it justice since then by bringing up the average score. It doesn't do much new (except the hordes) but what it did it did well. For me an 8.5. And this review wants to make me play it again, damn you!

Recently played it on PS4, and really enjoyed it. The characters, story, and gameplay were great. I was totally shocked that the framerate didn't drop when I was being chased by hundreds of freakers. Do yourself a favor and give this game a shot - the critics were dead wrong.

I played the demo at PAX South and bought the game on Day One. I replayed it three times (first time on PS4 and two times on PC), 100% it once and even played it with my girlfriend another time (later again on PS4) of all those times I only ever experienced one major bug/glitch where I couldn’t find a horde but just had to restart. I had some minor bugs as well but nothing that truly set me off or ruined my opinions. I loved the story and the graphics, the game was amazing . It influenced me to dress and act like Deacon and I got a motorcycle. Similar to the game my friends and coworkers call me and my buddy the “badass biker boys” of our town.
I only ever experienced 3 bugs in total in the whole game, and neither bug was too bad, just reload a save or restart game and it would be fixed.
One of the bugs was pretty meaningless, it was just 1 zombie stuck inside a car, he was screaming and couldn't get out, and i couldn't kill him either. He despawned after.
Second time i couldn't move a car in a tunnel to progress through a mission, but i just restarted checkpoint and it was fixed.
Third bug i couldn't climb on anything, i saved the game and restarted to fix it.
This is really nothing and overall it's a very polished game, very high quality. Ubisoft can only dream of making a quality game like Days Gone :D
Reminds me of the time IGN gave alien isolation a low low score I played it and thought it was excellent, the same with days gone..
I think both are really enjoyable fun games with a lot of flaws. They're not perfect, so I can understand the lower scores. With that being said, both also make it very clear that there is a lot of potential, which is why I hope they both get a sequel sooner or later.

I watched IGNs review then watched this one, and it was obvious the reviewer for IGN either played this game partially, or didn't play it at all. What a night and day comparison. With the Steam Deck in more hands, this game has found itself in a resurgence, and I have about 20 hrs in it so far, and really enjoying the game. Definitely not perfect, but also not as bad as these big time companies said about it. I wish it was more lively like Farcry 5, but then again, it's more like The Walking Dead universe, so you shouldn't be expecting loads of NPCs. WIth that said, the voice acting is pretty great. Again, IGN missed the mark here. They didn't even mention the voice actors behind the characters. Sam Witwer does an amazing job, and his voice, like it did in Clone Wars, really stands out. Appreciate your review, as a lot of us who just started playing it, deserve an unbias and fresh review.

It does suck that there likely won’t be a sequel. While the ending of this game truly brought the story to a close, it also means they could pick it right back up and run in any direction with it.
There was an end scene in the credits where Deke meets up with O'Brian again and he reveals that he is infected and turning into some kind of evolved freaker.
They HAVE to find a development team to take the helm and give us a sequel hopefully sooner than later🤞
I noticed this game - among a few others that caught my eye - available with the Extra PS Plus tier and I was tempted to upgrade for £14 to try it for the rest of the year, but then it went on sale from £35 to £14 so I just bought it straight up at the start of July. I'm really enjoying it so far, and videos like this one helped me decide to try it out after all this time. It runs perfectly on the PS5 and I've had zero issues with frame drops. Most of the bugs I heard about seem to have been sorted out.
I do like the open world concept but never really expect a great execution as it can be too demanding to expect a fully fleshed out world in the mould of RDR2 (a masterpiece because it wove together a huge, full world and a brilliant story) and, while Days Gone's world isn't exactly buzzing, it at least fits the world the game was built around. It's not an issue either because the story is strong. I'm invested in Deacon's story early on, want to see more of the relationship with Boozer, and I'm really enjoying the flashback sequences with Sarah which are gradually filling in the gaps. The cutscene transitions can be jarring when they involve less important characters and story lines, but the dialogue is superbly natural and realistic. The combat is fun (I like a challenge with the gunplay), crafting is cool on harder difficulties as I have to keep my resources and materials in mind and, while the fuel tank is needlessly tiny, I quite like keeping an eye out for fuel and scrap. If I was a survivor in a real world like that, I'd want every trip outside of a safe zone to be productive to justify the risk, so I'm always scanning for useful stuff. Random events out in the world with enemy factions are fun, and it can be quite tense being wary of potential traps and snares when you're alone. I've used most of my NERO injectors on stamina so far just to exacerbate the feeling of being vulnerable when I'm taking on multiple threats. The weather system and its effects on the enemies (especially the freakers) is great, and I like having to consider which time of day I should tackle a certain task or obstacle. The hordes are an awesome feature, especially when you feel as weak and underpowered as I do early on 😂
Overall it's been a solid experience so far and I've not even encountered the best of it yet. In a world where The Last of Us 2 can get "10/10 - IGN", it's a 7.5 or 8 for me. But only if TLoU2 gets the 4 it deserves lmao

This is my game of the year when it came out was freaking amazing. Now I just bought it on PC yesterday.
I played the game a couple of years ago. Last week i downloaded it again cause the music of the app state of survival reminded me of days gone. Now i am hooked again and i,m playing it on survival mode. Just like dying light, this is one of my favorit games. You have to think about every move, anticipate so the stealth is perfect. Slashing is also well present and the story is catching.
I got the Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 4 on lauch day, i loved it but it was rough performance wise and textures not loading. Now on PlayStation 5 the game runs like a dream. Played New game + and it's night and day difference, stable 60fps the HDR looks better, the game looks sharper. Awesome game

Days gone got me through my worst depression of my life. The game really saved my life.
The game was way too padded out. There was about about 15-20 hours of good content in there, but I had to play 47 hrs to finish it.

Super fun with the horde mechanics done right. Story is good (with some problems of course), gameplay is standard, but i agree that Deacon is very endearing. And I'm just now cleaning up the hordes which is a different challenge every time.
That moment your driving through the country, talking to boozer on your bike and that music comes on...
Everything you said in this video expresses precisely my thoughts and feelings concerning this MOST EXCELLENT game.
Days Gone is a masterpiece and I don't understand why some chose to bury it. It's only "weak" point is the graphics which isn't saying much. They're what you'd expect and while at times it may look same-ish the settlements and other hand-crafted areas are great. The story is great and has some quite emotional moments. True enough, I didn't liked Deacon at first. Thought he was bit of an asshole but after 1-2 hours he started to grow on me. The combat is excellent and the crafting mechanics fits it like a glove. I'm saying this as someone that doesn't meddle too much with crafting mechanics in games because I usually play on hardest and I don't like to rely on hard to come by items. However in Days Gone even on the hardest setting the materials are enough to get by if you're careful but most of all they make sense as you'll need decoys and traps. My only criticism would be the limited range of weapons although the ones that are in the game feel great to use and do have specific purposes. Personally I think the game is a 9/10 and if someone gives it 7 or lower they're lying.
I really like it. I bought it on disk ages ago and lost it. I'm replaying it now having downloaded it. It's the hords that make it for me. Those battles are so intense. I like any games where you have to plan or use strategy. I never thought I'd be planning my attack MGS style in a zombie (ish) type game.

Reviewers just f..ed it up, and Sony did not make themselves a big favor by not releasing it on PC sooner (but then again, the reviewers f..ed it up and that certainly cost Sony good money).
just beat the game today on pc and its now on my favorite games list. Bought it on sale during christmas but i wouldint have been mad if i paid full price. Its too bad there will never be a pt 2 its one of the best zombie games out there.

There's just one problem I have with that comment, how the hell are you supposed to know if you "love" the game just by looking at some run of the mill cinematic trailer and generic gameplay with a few gimmicks here are there? Not to mention the overused genre. Maybe the marketing didn't go very well, but then it's also not fair to be pissed off at people who are supposed to love your game while knowing next to nothing about it
