    80k baht a month is a solid budget for a couple living in Hua Hin that enjoy a comfortable yet modest life. Thailand is not very cheap if you want to live a comfortable life. You could live just as well in most places in mainland and Eastern Europe with that amount of money.

      Hua Hin isn't a cheap place. I've seen budget videos of people who live in Pattaya or Bangkok and pay way less on rent but then again, they're renting condos and not homes.

      @@inlovewiththailand Ive lived in Bangkok, Koh Chang, Hua Hin and Phuket. Hua hin is one of the most affordable places to live in Thailand. It's prob on par with Pattaya.

    I know not directly linked to the same topic, but a think tank in the UK just suggested that the state pension age be moved to 71 from 67 (from 65 previously for men)😮 🤬
    I’m 51 and am working hard in the next 3 years to retire to SE Asia, Thailand being top of the list. Just hope I can generate enough monthly cash flow to help me achieve my dream.

    Thankyou George for your expertise on the retirement, but I’m planning coming over very very soon,as I’ve explained, thas my savings now, then I get my English state pension at 67,so that’s to come on top of what I have now, but Thankyou for your reply …..

    We are running about 150k bt a month in Hua Hin. We are fortunate to have a large income and even that amount isn’t half our monthly income. You can obviously live well on a lot less but we love eating out at nice restaurants and traveling. We also have a pool villa which we own but run ac 24/7 which runs about 6000 bt a month. We don’t own a car but employ basically a full time driver. Far safer than driving yourself. I also buy my Starbucks every day! We don’t skimp and want for nothing. Still living on far less than what we lived on in the U.S.

    Love these cost of living vlogs. They all give me some ideas how other people spend their money. I think for me $2,000 USD a month is good enough to live comfortably for a single person that is not into bars, clubs, alcohol or girls.

    Hi there, for a couple looking to retire early and live somewhere like Jomtien or Hua Hin, and rent a decent 2 bed condo not on the beach, can you give an estimate on a healthy monthly budget for the two of us?
    Is $3k/month (CAD) a healthy budget to allow for everything such as medical, dental, mini staycations, etc?
    TIA!
    Great videos btw.

    My question to you is I’ve asked a number of sites on you tube about retirement in Thailand, how much money did you take with you from your home country, a rough estimate would be nice to know, but I know it’s personal, but I’ve never had a answer from no-one on theese sites, just say I have roughly 15 million baht @ 63years old???

    • @georgenewmaninthailand2495
      @georgenewmaninthailand2495  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think most people don’t just have saving they have a monthly budget that their pension provides for them. Plus no one knows how long they will live for you might live to 100 that’s 37 years which is a lot more than if you live to 80 👍. It’s a tricky one mate that why maybe there isn’t really an answer

    I really dont understand your passion for Hua Huan… the beaches arent much special, surrounding is also nothing special… maybe is quite cheaper, properties are cheaper, malls perfect but the vibe if i can compare with Khao lak isnt enough. Maybe you can see that much different. I am just curious☺️
