You can't compare the Netherlands with Bangkok and anything in the Netherlands outside of Amsterdam or Rotterdam is dead! In fact, Amsterdam is so last century, full of Lower class expats and nobody moves there unless they have no other options, it's the least popular place to be in Europe by far. There are also no buildings in the Netherlands that come with a pool and fitness area so you are comparing apples to pears.
Right now I’m staying in my friends studio room condo which is a 3 min motorcycle ride from punnawaithi station, she’s paying 5000 baht a month, it’s a yearly contract.
Is she in a luxury building that is fully staffed like these buildings? Surely you realize location is first factor in real estate, and the 2nd being amenities, and the 3rd being the level of luxury. The cost difference to manage a building with an elevator compared to the same height building with NO elevator, alone, is considerably different. For ever elevator you add, the cost goes up dramatically for maintenance contracts and repairs.
Wow, you found that in London? That's hard to believe. Of course, I'm sure you would NOT be comparing apples and oranges, like a small town in the UK with one of the largest major metropolitan cities in the world, would you, because that would be foolish.
Can even get condos around Phra Kanong for 10-12k in Aspire and Life. Way closer to city than Punnawithi. The prices in this video are extremely suspicious!
Condos seem to be getting smaller, but the prices are definitely larger 🤔 I'm actually more impressed by your sunglasses😁 Where can I get those??????????
Love all the videos, I plan to move to Thailand by the end of this year. I just returned from a 3 month stay there. I would love to see vieos about some older buildings that are larger in size and hopefully less in price. The high rises are great, but I'm down for an older building with bigger units. Thanks!!!
The typical size options seem to be one bedroom from 27 to 35 square meters with the next larger option being two bedrooms at 50 to 56 square meters. I wish that more places had a ONE bedroom with 50 to 55 square meter option. Almost all the options are so tightly packed. My new condo in Ayutthaya costs $222 but it is pretty small at 33 square meters and Ayutthaya does NOT have the things to do that Bangkok does.
For me, I would be curious to see what things like Utilities cost...Internet, electricity, cost of water - I am noting that some of these places you are showing in Bangkok are not as inexpensive as some would suggest. I understand there is a diversity of levels in price. I do have a great appreciation for the videos you are producing. Best of luck and I look forward to more of your posts.
We have a condo at Bang Na, but will probably look at On Nut to be right there at Tesco Lotus when our lease expires. We're currently paying 9,500 THB (about $260 USD) for a 28 sq meter studio.
Thanks Chris for another great video. I would like to ask however for those of us who do not like Condos and living in tall high rise buildings and prefer the space that they have currently in a house, what options are there (if any) for those who would prefer to rent a house/townhouse in Bangkok area? In addition I have also noticed some of the youtube videos like yours when they talk about what you can buy in terms of Condos, however no one ever mentions the ongoing costs (maintenance) so might be worth including this in the videos so that views would know what the expected outgoings would be. Cheers.
I am visiting Bangkok from Seattle USA, dental tourism. I decided to use Edelweiss, based on Chris’ videos. Been a fantastic experience and have saved 80% while getting world class dentist/service. I am staying in a Hotel for $100 per night, comparable to a Hotel at home that would run 3x that. Bangkok is my first ever Asia experience. I love it, and that says much for a person that doesn’t like big cities. The city is cleaner, clean air and even friendlier than I’d hoped for. It’s hot and humid at times but there’s not much to dislike. I’m looking to buy a second home and I could imagine buying here for sure. Language is no barrier btw. In a few days my girlfriend will arrive and we will spend 2 weeks going resort style, with Hua Hin our first stop.

I visit Asia/SEA twice a year for business and pleasure. Compared to similar metropolitan asian cities like Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore… Bangkok is definitely not “clean”.
Are there any bar bells in the gym of the last place? I didn't see any free weights, or a squat rack, or a bench, and the dumbbell rack looked like it only had light weights.

Definitely something to think about. Prices are definitely down yet ALL his rental videos share the high prices. It's not just the buildings/areas he's choosing. As others have said you can find direct comparables in the same areas for half the price. The Punnawithi condo was what really makes me question the motives of his rental videos. I know for a fact that you can get a rental at The Line 101 for half of what he quoted at the first condo.
These prices are artificially inflated and are not the current market prices in Bangkok. You can get a very nice condo for 10-12k per month much closer to city center than Punnawithi.

They really haven't, RW4U is usually a great channel but he is totally out of touch in market rentals. The first one is maximum a 15k mth condo all day. No one is paying 24k mth for that. You can even find condos closer to the center of Bangkok for about 12k/mth
I was only comparing the rent cost of these particular condos to the rent prices in Houston. I understand LA/SF/NY cost a lot more these days. I would love to live in BKK someday but would try to find much cheaper accommodations.

It was a beautiful place and I really enjoyed my stay. Now, I tend more towards Asoke & Phrom Phong area so, seeing inside The Diplomat was a treat. It's wayyyy out of my budget but, still good to see. For those who are gasping at the prices, Bangkok is a cosmopolitan city. There are apartments for rent that will suit all budgets. Awhile ago, I watched a video of a guy who was paying $60 US for an apartment. It was very basic & nowhere near any BTS or Metro line so, much more difficult to get anywhere. Bangkok is a huge city spread out over many sq. kilometres. There's something for everyone...

In so many of these videos I rarely see anyone using the building amenities which were the hook to get them in there. @@wengelder9256 agreed. There not getting a 40% commission but definitely a high price for Thailand.
Right, for sure the guy gets commission from NIO, every common in Thailand as we all know. That is why the called prices are so ridiculous high.
I pay £472 for a 100m2 3 bed house in the UK with quite big garden on 1.78% mortgage deal. I must be living the dream!
No u must b living up norf in a shithole... Middleborough? Harlepool
Shit weather,turn on the heater
@@thylacine1004 True that, but at least no snow!
Wow, you found that in London? That's hard to believe.
Of course, I'm sure you would NOT be comparing apples and oranges, like a small town in the UK with one of the largest major metropolitan cities in the world, would you, because that would be foolish.
you can still get loads of places for 10k Baht neat BTS around Bangchak/On Nut.
Can even get condos around Phra Kanong for 10-12k in Aspire and Life. Way closer to city than Punnawithi. The prices in this video are extremely suspicious!
Farangatang ?😂
Condos seem to be getting smaller, but the prices are definitely larger 🤔
I'm actually more impressed by your sunglasses😁 Where can I get those??????????
Love all the videos, I plan to move to Thailand by the end of this year. I just returned from a 3 month stay there. I would love to see vieos about some older buildings that are larger in size and hopefully less in price. The high rises are great, but I'm down for an older building with bigger units. Thanks!!!
The Line sukhumvit 101 is 100 meters away and half the price, just as nice.
Look good. Have to admit, that smog's a bit of a worry 😟
I’m visiting now for first time. The air is cleaner than I expected and less garbage too. Frankly, it’s much cleaner and far safer than big city USA.
Come on Chris, let’s try and find good value for money condos- not ridiculous prices like that are being asked here 😧😦
Agreed, Chris let us down this time! I guess they're wanting to catch the naive foreigners who don't do their own research.
Thumbs down on this video!
Nob no pollution stop lies
@@alucardcount9478 I’m sitting by the pool right now on 49 soi Sukhumvit. The air here is no dirtier than any big city in the USA. I travel 6 months of the year. I’m no nob, noob, or whatever. Just calling it the way I see it. For 20m or so people, Bangkok is indeed surprisingly clean.
I visit Asia/SEA twice a year for business and pleasure. Compared to similar metropolitan asian cities like Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore…
Bangkok is definitely not “clean”.
@@charlesbrie8711 Well compared to where i'm sitting in the U.S., it's pretty clean! It's all relative.
Can we have it for one month only for holiday vacation? Or do they have a minimum period of stay?
What are the maintenance fees/ground rent per month for the condos??
What about bills? How much are them on average (electricity, water, internet, building amenities, etc)? What’s included and what’s not?
Are there any bar bells in the gym of the last place? I didn't see any free weights, or a squat rack, or a bench, and the dumbbell rack looked like it only had light weights.
I felt the "high end" place actually had very low quality but gilded interior decor and furniture. Not that any of them had any quality past the lobby but I guess I liked the first building best for its roof and its pool.
I watch a lot of your videos but I don't get any answers that I would like to know?🥺 What about Amazon deliverys? If I live outside of town is solar hard to find? Can the water be filtered so you can drink it? I have lots more questions.😮
Coincidentally I ate at Hua Seng Hong two days ago with some Thai friends. They are in the restaurant business and very picky about where they eat. Very busy and I'm sure I was the only westerner! Also, over the road at the bottom of Soi 66 is The 66 Cottage. Nice cafe in a garden setting surrounded by a few other little businesses.
That second place is crazy.... 2xs as much wow...
For those willing to pay it. Bangkok has many condos, there is no shortage.
Extremely overpriced. Like unimaginable levels.
True that. I kind of cringe at Chris’s condo videos because he’s never honest. I live in Thailand, you can get these condos 1-bedroom for 300 bucks a month.
yes very expensive, you can get them for half the price
@@stephantual nothing is impossible in Thailand 🤪🤪🤪 l live in Thailand, all these condos are made for farang with of course farang price…so there’s so much room to negotiate. Never pay asking price in Thailand. Don’t have time to prove wrong or even the want too. Too busy with my life 🤪🤪🤪

Chris many negative comments regarding price and size. Having said that I still love your vids man. Don’t ever stop. I think we all love you more than the apartments. Lol

Great show Chris! Good info. Stay cool 😎 kind and generous.
What about buying a condo ? How much for something like the first until in USD
06:50 I don’t think she understood what you meant by, “do you like it in the shade or in the sun?” 😂
How sanitary is it to use furniture that others have been using, particularly a bed? To me that seems a little germy.
How is it any different than a hotel that sees dozens if not hundreds of guests using the same bed each year?
Din Deang 25sqm with pool for 9000 THB.
Thanks for the tour. What i would wish to see more is more affordable condos because i see only videos of you with prices comparable to rents in Europe.
I think most of your viewers still have reliability’s in the home country so to take a second expensive rental on our name is almost impossible for us.
It's awesome that you are able to help local businesses and visitors at the same time.
whilst also taking a sizeable commission selling condos for twice the price and heinlpg himself?
Question is how does Noi get paid? Other bloggers are saying that rents are getting cheaper in Bangkok because there are so many vacancies while yours is definitely a lot more expensive. Maybe RW4U real state is not the way to go.
Great video Chris! Prices are way to high for what I’d be looking for but it’s always interesting to see how the rich live 😊
These prices are artificially inflated and are not the current market prices in Bangkok. You can get a very nice condo for 10-12k per month much closer to city center than Punnawithi.
Bangkok is nice for a short visit but way too busy for anything long term. For me Thailand is all about being next to the water and not that stinky canal type of water 😄Hua Hin is my type of town. Just has a nice vibe to it.
That's my feeling as well. BKK would get to me after a few months. I need sand and sea and a little jungle every now and then.
BKK is wild, one of the filthiest places I’ve ever been to, smells like shit absolutely everywhere, only good for shopping.
I usually hate big cities, but for some weird reasons i can can spend 6 months and then stressed to leave coz so much more to see and explore
I went there for a week. After two days I wanted to gtfo
@@eliseumds Depends where you from, US cities smell more, London is a hole, many Euro cities, Paris filthy, and so on !!
Hey man, I recently stumbled upon your content and have been enjoying leaning about moving to Thailand (I have quite a few years before I can). But I was wondering how utilities work/how much they are? Fast Internet, electric, water all that. Not sure if I missed it in any other videos.
Condo rentals in Bangkok have indeed changed. The prices are astronomical.
😅more expensive or cheaper?
They really haven't, RW4U is usually a great channel but he is totally out of touch in market rentals. The first one is maximum a 15k mth condo all day. No one is paying 24k mth for that. You can even find condos closer to the center of Bangkok for about 12k/mth
Don't pay any attention This is just a scam
That's why it's 2 years old and still vacant. Nobody is paying those prices.
About the same prices as in Houston, TX, including the humidity.
Sorry, Bangkok ranks as a city similar to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Houston doesn't come near those cities.
Subtract the crime.
Please, Houston? 😂 even LA/SF are terrible compared to 21st century Asian mega cities.
I was only comparing the rent cost of these particular condos to the rent prices in Houston. I understand LA/SF/NY cost a lot more these days. I would love to live in BKK someday but would try to find much cheaper accommodations.
Thanks for another wonderful video. I love the area around Emquartier & Empoŕium. The first time I arrived in Bangkok my Agoda booking fell through so, I ended up being moved to The Olive Bangkok.
Aloha Chris! One thing I don't think I've ever seen mentioned if there is a cost for weekly trash removal? We have to pay for a service here in Hawaii for 2x a week (but that's because we live on a private road and don't qualify for the C&C pickups).
Real interesting as usual but one question. Most people get 3 to 6 months visas,
so who is the target for these apartments?
Working and retired expats. Also rich Thais.
Rich Thais will get far better deals than these. These are for farangs who don’t know any better.
@@markkelleher1339 Correct. Thais always get better prices. But they are living in the same condos as Farangs. The question is not about the price, but who lives there.
I know it, because I am living in one of such condos.
There is no 6mo visa option
@@ericsmith-VN No but usually between the border run and other tricks you can stay longer than the 2 months permitted. What I'm saying is, if these condos are available only yearly, who is it for? I'm just curious
Does the sky stay that way, it looks hazy like Los Angeles in the states, i hear the air quality isn't that great.
Don't go in agency the price is just sos so high!
Many way for have a confortable unit more than 30 sqm for 8/10k bth!!!!
Just wondering... Are the landlords the builder / managers of the building or are these condos that are rented out by individual condo owners? Thanks!
I am in the process of starting a new company in Thailand (IT Services). Are there any areas in Bangkok that you would recommend when it comes to renting an office?
Thanks for the video ... Bangkok has so many fascinating different micro areas to see and explore. These condos are pretty cool to be sure, a bit high in price but hey this is Bangkok I guess. How is your Thai lessons coming along? Do you think more Thai language skills needed to live in these areas compared to others?
I see other videos from a year ago that are half this amount. Did everything double? Maybe too many foreigners moving there?
How much to purchase one?
Please record a video about house rentals. Thanks.
can you do condo that is further in the suburb around the end of the new MRT stations? Thx
Any communities that have green space or community parks nearby? Thanks
What are condo fees like there? I’ve never seen you talk about the monthly condo dues/fees? Thank you
You don't pay fees while renting. It's the responsibility of the Owner.
Hi there.. I would like to ask how much will cost if I want to buy one of these condos?
Hi Chris. Here is another suggested area to check out; Bang Rak / Sathorn Soi 12 and its surrounding blocks. Great condos/Restaurants within a block or two of the St Louis BTS. We are in The Address Sathorn. 2 bed/2 bath are 85 square meters
How much?
50k BHT although that was negotiated last September
Expensive.. Plenty in bkk from 10,to 15,000
Yes, and for a small dizzying shoebox. I pay 9,300 with a pool, full service and a lovely balcony. Mine has a local feel . Those do not.

@@ceneusa agree! I'm 7 mins walk to Phra Kanong in a 9 year old building with great staff, and incredible neighborhood and you can get units for about 10-15k per month
My guess is that most looking to relocate to Bangkok are not looking to pay the same or more than what they pay in their country of origin.
But it was nice to see how the other half lives.
I live in Nashville, Tennessee and for the cost of the 2 bed 2 bath condo I can buy/rent a town home here in America for the same price. And it’s 1800 square feet. lol my current rent is around $3000 US per month. But it’s a high rise in the best address in Nashville. I can’t imagine paying them $1600 per month for a condo in BKK.
Does anyone know what a typical rental lease in Thailand looks like? Is month to month common? Or is it mostly a one year lease?
I ask because I could make the dream come true a lot sooner, but my job is pretty irregular, and I would need to be present in Canada to get paid. Some years might be 6 months, Thailand, six months Canada. Others might be year on year off etc.
I thinking buying a house in Huay Yang. Is that a good idea?
15:00 - 12 month lease means changing tax residence. That means more complications in calculations for most of us.
Awesome video, awesome information!
Sad to see all the negative comments but wat r the extra charges? Maintenance? Service? Utilities? That cud really b the deal breaker.
Are they all government rates for water/power?
I love your videos, but these aren’t real Bangkok prices. Condo nr 1 at that location is realistically 10K
i split at the 2:26 mark, Way To High for the rent.
You are an excellent presenter👍
I can rent for less in Australia ( Brisbane ). Love how she says "Brand new building" but it's 2 years old lol.
Keep up the good work Chris good to know which areas are overpriced as well as bargains.
Come on chaps, no point in shooting the messenger. As the title suggests, changes are afoot regarding BKK real estate price points. Real estate values have skyrocketed around the world, particularly in cities of note during the last two years. Considering these changes, Chris seems to be right on the money, so to speak. Great upload as usual, thanks Chris.
In so many of these videos I rarely see anyone using the building amenities which were the hook to get them in there. I think I much prefer the older condos built in the '90s and earlier where you got real wood furnishings instead of IKEA stuff, and where you get twice the amount of space for the same amount of rent.
I would be interested to see what kind of condos are available in Chiang Mai. Think you could do a video up there?
Lots - and cheap. Like $250-$500 a month.
Hope to be there in June. Will definitely look her up.
Do a search for cheap apartments bangok and there is a lot of apartments for under 5000 bath a month, i dont know about how central the location is, but still.
Hi Chris :) I stayed in that area too last June when I Met U/Mark Wiens! Fantastic area I say! Luv your work Chris / John here from Australia - also living in Thailand

I have a 3bd 2 1/2 baths townhouse pool and gym in Bangkok for 25,000 baht way too much for a condo
I see IKEA furniture regularly in Thaland condo videos (3:03). But are there IKEA stores over there ?!?!?!
In 2021 I paid 17k Baht a month for a 2 bed 2 bath in the Base Park West. It was down from 24k before Covid.
Not the best video. Noi’s tired and slightly annoyed demeanor was a little off putting. Given that there are infinity apartment agents in Bangkok who are happy to show you around, I would avoid one who decides if you’re good enough for her. Also rents are out of line with what I’ve seen anyway.

is it not pronounced "Tong LAW"? I remember asking the BTS ticket seller for "Thong Lor" and she was confused then responded with "Tong Law?" 😅 Hadn't felt that farang in a while
Waiting for a video on short term rental options for families (3-4 bedrooms)
You’ll find that economic sense means little to a Thai. They would rather have empty units of which there are many than price something realistically .
The cheapest condos ive seen seem to be about 6-7000 *ones with pools anyways* I'm sure there are cheaper condos but none that I found with a pool. I'm sure if you don't want a pool, you can find ones cheaper. Ones i'm looking at are beteen 7-8000 cause I'd like a pool. :D
