Luxury restaurants are really close to tourist places, and that's why tourists think that Turkey is expensive to eat out. Try to find local restaurants, it might be better because there you can eat Turkish cuisine too, in luxury ones the meals from all over the world, not belong to Turkish cuisine haha 😂

Yeah We are not rude expecially to the tourists. When a non native speaker try to speak Turkish we love it. We smile and enjoy :)
eric mepho turks in Turkey are very hospitable to tourists (mainly to sell them something) not too much to their own people (this is only true for workers or service providers)
