Great content and great inspiration for my videos!!
My theory is that if it touches your skin then get the highest quality possible. Underwear, mattress, towels, linen, socks etc. The most expensive doesn’t always mean the best but you usually get what you pay for
Good theory
the back part of the seat in your car will also touch your skin if you drive shirtless....does that mean you should get the most expensive car out there?
I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards financial freedom and early retirement, but since '20 pandemic, the economy so far has caused my portfolio to underperform. My question is this; do I look into alternative sectors, or keep contributing to my 401k?
diversification is the key, that way your investment is balanced and you don’t get to make so much risks or losses
Keep in mind you were not alone. The market was down generally. Hard not to be stressed but it’s part of the business today
@@JenniferWattkins gotta weigh your options carefully to be in a good position this current market, impressive run! much more info needed please... who is this advisor guiding you? i'm on the red and in dire need of portfolio growth
Invest in 401(k) to the co match-cannot pass up free money-then not $1 more
This video was a mixture of good advice and excuses to splurge. Yes, high quality stuff that improve your overall quality of life is a no-brainer: good shoes, an ergonomic comfortable chair, a good mattress, high-thread sheets (I'd include towels there too), and those things don't even have to be super expensive. If you search, you can find high quality stuff with affordable prices. Also having a nice home and great professionals around (dentist, lawyer, therapist, accountant, etc) make a huge impact on your life. On the other hand the video says you should splurge and fly private but not buy cheap shirts cause you "buy twice". So, your rich enough to fly private jets but not enough to buy a couple of shirts?
Look, fashion industry is messed up, you can buy a $25 cotton/polyester shirt OR a $500 cotton/polyester shirt, same material, same quality, same design, the only difference being someone slapped a brand tag on it while paying pennies to the workers who actually sewed it. Fast fashion is ruining the planet producing tons of garbage every year. I'd say be conscious when consuming, buy the cheap ones if they have good quality, wear it for the longest time, never mind if it's old, and if possible try to make sure it wasn't made by enslaved hands.
The cheap shirts will never last longer than the expensive ones; that’s a false assumption. “Fast fashion” is precisely “fast” because they cut corners in materials and overall quality which is what makes it affordable(and disposable) in the first place.
“If” you have the money, just buy stuff that will last longer. A single top quality shirt will last the same amount of time 2-3 cheap shirts will; it goes beyond just the brand tag. If you don’t, then take double care of your cheap shirts so you don’t create more waste, while you save money and convince yourself about taking the plunge to by more expensive clothes
I wouldn’t splurge money on a Coach bag. I regretted buying their tote bag at $600, thinking it’s real leather that would lasts long. In fact, its genuine leather but only lasted for less than 1 year. To make things worse, to get the bag repaired would costs me $250 min and takes 2-3 months as they need to send back to China for that. From there, i knew it.
If you still have to budget the cost of your tshirts you are not rich yet
Thanks for the comment man. I agree with you. 👍

I'm looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I have about $6k sitting in my savings
I say instead of giving money to charity volunteer a couple hours.
Time is money
No one is stopping you from doing both...
They needn't be mutually exclusive.
I agree with you on that one.
Depends on how much money you have
Quality clothes and shoes are very much worth it. I have both that I have had for 10-15 years. Comfortable, durable, and aesthetically pleasing. Classic styles are always relevant.

Buy quality no matter what is what I've always both been told by my parents, as well as how I raised my children. It really is a matter of getting what you pay for. Prime example in my life is a wallet I recently had stolen. Had that wallet for nearly 15 years and picked it up down in Santa Monica at a little boutique. Cost me about $250 at the time, but it was unique, due to the surfing image on its exterior leather, and was a great wallet overall. I got nothing but compliments on it whenever it came out. My truck was broken into a couple of months back and they took a few things, including my wallet, as I'd forgotten to bring it in the night before. Honestly, I think the wallet was worth 10x whatever little bit of cash I had inside.
I spent 1500 euros for Bandai's Space Shuttle Endeavor model - something I had been dreaming of for years and PROMISEd myself to do. I had to order it to London and fly there myself to pick it up from my friends and bring it back to Moscow to avoid paying extra customs. It was a small tick off my bucket list, and definitely worth it, especially since it happened right the year before the pandemic hit, so I got to see my friends before being parted for 3 years
On the note of travel and trains I totally recommend taking a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge railroad. It's one of the most beautiful train rides I have ever had the joy of being on and try to do this one at least once a year. The Rockies in the spring and summer for the ride is something worth seeing again and again. Stay amazing everyone.
It's funny that you mentioned that but crossing things off my bucket list was that expense for me. And yes it is worth it! Especially doing it in my early 20's. I'm still not old but definitely can't pull off consecutive all nighters as someone who just turned 21. It should be approached responsibly but that expense is worth spending. I've learned a lot about my likes and dislikes from those exposures and that experience translated into habits/skills that I developed and those habits/skills were powerful tools it building myself up in both my work and personal life.
A cook. Even if it's just for special occasions, rather than hiring a caterer. I am a server with a catering company and for the life of me I do not understand why people don't think to simply hire the cook and staff. The quality is far better, and it really can't cost more. And you don't need a fancy kitchen, I have whipped up wonderful things in the most basic off grid kitchen and I'm not even a pro chef. A good cook who you hire on a regular basis is worth their weight in gold.
Most expensive thing I spent was a solo trip to France for almost 3 weeks at 2 different places, Lyon and Chamonix. I had a great time and was very happy. An experience that gave me fresh perspective, lifestyle and change.
I agree about living in a beautiful surroundings as I currently do in Franklin NC as we are almost totally surrounded by the US National Forest known as the Smokeys. I also agree about high end clothing as I was the public relations consultant to the late William Thourby who dressed five US Presidents and hundreds of CEOs. I personally have spent interesting times with 99 famous people including two former US Presidents, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Liberace, Glenn Campbell, Zig Ziglar, etc. This happened mostly because I was fortunate enough to be the first Post Newsweek TV Group entertainment reporter. I have been a certified ISSA personal trainer since age 50 and now at 77 years young have the health of people 30 years younger due to being personally around leading health practioners like Dr Oz which happened during my co-producing and co-hosting Your Health Today for Comcast TV. I HATE FLYING PERIOD!😂😂
Travel is one of the important things that I strive to do as I want to expose myself to different cultures, people, food, etc. especially since I do it on my birthday week. Want to get to Australia then everything else is there.
Buying my new home was the biggest change, saved my family of 5 🙏🏽

100% agree,. I went townhouse shopping a few years back found a very nice unit, but the view was into another unit across the way...looking out I saw some guy shirtless sitting on a sofa scratching his stomach can you imaging looking at that everyday.. Thankfully We found and bought a place that looks out to the mountains.. No regrets...

Thank you Alux for another great video! The content you create always provides so much perspective and insight!
I have a suggestion for a next video: How to recognize a good charity and the topic of solving a problem with throwing money on it as this does not always lead to solving the actual problem or it can even make the problem bigger in the long run. I just think giving money to those who need it in a way that actually makes things better in the long run is really difficult and tricky. I'd like some in depth info on that.
I love Alux. Just can't get enough of it. Awesome content as always. Thumbs up 👍
These videos are amazing. Thank you for your valued content & app.
I look 4ward to getting it asap
Love this video, I saw a few things I want to spend money on. Most definitely travel, where I live. Clothing executive coach! A private chef yes
Always motivating in a splendid ways. Thanks so much 👍🌸👌👌👌
The most expensive thing that I paid for was Ralph Lauren Romance. I still have it til this day!!!
Travel & other experiences are worth spending money on. FULLY agree about flying biz/first class if the flight is longer than 5 hrs. Spending for great mattress & office chair, as well as your health, you will never go wrong. PROMISE!
AGREED! In 2019, I was looking over my household budget and I decided to start flying first class domestically and it was definitely a GAME CHANGER. The comfort. The people I've met and connected with. The service. The convenience. I ABSOLUTELY AGREE.
Thank you for saying THE PLACE WHERE FUTURE BILLIONAIRES COME GE INSPIRED!! Best line ever.
Indeed
What one major expense did I make that was worth it? A handicap-compatible hotel room. Rationale: I am aging and have important health problems. Also, my grown children are irreversibly estranged and will never help. Having a room available to which I can move if needed, where a bedding and towel exchange service is available and so is cleaning, and where restaurant food can be delivered, saves a fortune in long-term care insurance. It's oceanfront, too, and is for rent now.
Spending money wisely is a must. Thanks for creating this wonderful video. PROMISE!!

Better zip code is the very best advice here. At any point or juncture in anyone's life, finding places to live that improve and influence aspirations, opportunities and state of mind is crucial to living ones best life.
Thanks for your new video! I really have been doing all of the things of my bucket list. Promise! /Marie from Sweden
I should have got a coach when I was up $500k… literally money makes people jealous especially your family.. you can’t look for any help when you get money.. they will literally listen to you and let you hit the wall and then go talk about you
Yep.. lesson learned
my brother is jelous of me even if i dont have money 😂
This video was fire. I learned a lot from it.
PROMISE.
GREAT VIDEO! Many of these things are down the road, but provide good goals. Thanks!
I'm glad I'm glad I was able too raise my own child. You can't trust everyone with your child.
True
True.
A home in a great neighborhood with a view, check! I PROMISE the other ones are on its way!
Gym, learning new skills, a two wheeler(I know it's not worth to mention but I actually could manage a significant amount of time from wasting due to traffic jam & public transport).
I miss when you addressed the numbers (ex. "number one: expensive things"), when I listen to this it kinda drives me nuts not knowing what number are you on as I want to review that point I don't know where was it, so now I have to look for it and it takes some time :/
Yup. Some purchases that I have made, that are worth every penny is, pretty much, anything by Tumi. They are far more durable than anything that I have ever purchased from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, etc...
Also... On the more budget side of things....
Anything by UNIQLO, in the soft goods clothing area, lasts and lasts. Don't do their sunglasses. They can fall apart. Their umbrellas aren't so hot either. I wouldn't do their bags, purses, etc... But, anything else should be amazing.
Actually my iMac 27 from 2019 was absolutely worth the money, as I still using it almost every day for my job and private.
Promise. I've had a bucket list for several years, and I'm happy to say I've crossed a few things off and am moving closer to the others. The list of things that are worth the money could be seen as another bucket list. And I don't agree that some of them are just excuses to splurge. If you have the money, spend it. Make your kids work for their own.
Most expensive Luxury / Bucket List: Baltic Cruise/ Going to The 1st/ Original Legoland in Denmark. And the kicker; Seeing my high school exchange student in his home country after 35yrs.
I have subscribed to the app. I will report my progress every month
We’ll wait for your comments
Really good , save on my watch later list and that's my future goal
Promise. Thank you for a wonderful video
I was struggling with my business, barely making payroll and constantly having to get high interest loans. Then I hired business consultants at $500. per hr. at 10 hrs a day for 5 days a week for about a year showing me how to run my business. That changed everything.
PROMISE. Im on that list. ❤
Promise. Best thing I've bought. My BMW and my collection of Gibson les paul guitars. My bucket list. Do the Panama Canal and cross the equator on a cruise ship. Gonna cost £12,000 plus 👍👍👍
A few things first investing in all aspects health then traveling and always learning new things
The view of the place when you view is the most important thing to feeling fresh. I can confirm this.

When I can afford it i'll be building a proper home gym. One to save time. Two to stay away from the absolute pigs at public gyms. Kid you not. Twice a day I pick up a sore throat from some POS at the gym that coughs around me without covering up. The other day there was literally 💩 all over the toilet floor 🤢
Awful to read about that.
Home gyms are a massive waste of money 85% of time
@@alux not for me. I'm in the gym twice daily 7 days pw so motivation isn't a problem. And I'm talking full commercial Technogym equipment at home. Around $300 - $400k. The sooner I do it the better..
I would like if you do a video about 30 things to do/know before you are 30

Dear Alux,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you with a heartfelt request that means a lot to me. Your video about what school teaches us has struck a chord deep within me, and I believe it would be a perfect fit for a book I am working on. The insights you provide align perfectly with the themes and messages I aim to convey through my writing.
Your wisdom and perspective have the power to enrich my book and resonate with readers in a profound way. I can assure you that your video would be used respectfully and with full credit to you. Your contribution would not only elevate the quality of my book but also inspire those who read it.
I understand the value of your work and the effort you put into creating content that impacts lives. It would mean the world to me if you could grant me permission to include your video in my book. Your generosity in allowing me to use it would be an incredible honor.
I kindly await your reply, with hope and gratitude. Thank you for considering my request.
Warm regards,

Watching this as I'm manifesting wealth and abundance ❤😅
So, one of the coolest things I have been able to check off is riding in a secret service training center course in one of their cars. It was amazing. I promise it was worth it.
Early Morning Alux 🙌💯
Glad to see you here
Appreciate all the valuable content and hard work over the years. Keep it up 🐐
Promise. And i need to make 6 figures per month to afford all that stuff that you mentioned in this video.
Some of them you can afford a little bit earlier, but the idea still stands
Maybe put this list on hold until you have more income if you are currently living in a van down by the river
All-inclusive resort trip to Jamaica!!

Thanks Alux for the great work on that School. Watching from Uganda...❤❤
You keep talking about the school you built in Uganda, could you please share the name of the school and location!

A High End Timepiece
I honestly don't see the big deal on flying on first-class or business-class, we are all stuck in this capsule in the air for hours and going to land at the same time. Just have something to entertain you.
You don’t know the things you don’t know.
Laying down on an 8h flight feels like time travel. Would you pay for time travel?
When there were horse buggies everywhere, people used to say the same thing about cars...because only a few people could afford cars. Today, crossing 20 miles, by walking for 7 hours (avg walk speed: 3mph)
VS.
sitting 4 hours in a hot, rickety stagecoach (max speed: 5mph) with no air conditioning, dome light, radio, or internet, smelling horse butt
VS
20 minutes in a fully-loaded air-conditioned 1994 Toyota Camry is a no-brainer.
Why? because (1)the car exists, (2)we can afford it and (3)because we know better. If you can afford it, why walk 7 hours in the Texas heat?
I’m going on a MSC cruise in three weeks. 7 day cruise
I would go with the Tesla but then again it’s your money. Hope to hear more about your experience in the future!!
I'd never thought I'd learn 10 valuable gems all in 1 day
I saw two short vid's about concert both shows popular music.
Why not classical music ?
Always the same story even on Alux !
how about you make a video about all private clubs out there
The best money I ever spent was on Lasik eye surgery in 1999. It was $1,000 per eye which was a fortune for me.I still have perfect vision.
Well, the needing a divorce, lawyer is very easy to solve. If you’re a guy don’t be dumb enough to get married he go I don’t live in a way that the state teams as a marriage i.e. common law marriage
The best charity is reinvesting in the businesses you own to employ more people. There will always be poor people, and giving them money for free isn’t a solution to poverty
19:46 So if you don't want to do all these things, it means you're rich?
