Just bought this monitor for the new series x I upgraded too. Had a series s but ready for a top end setup. I had no idea that 120hz was able to be used on this monitor at 1440p
Thank you for this video. Casual gamer here that wants something that looks good and has great colors so ordered this last night. $249. I prefer 4K/60hz over 1440p/120hz, Nice to know this monitor can do both. Was dead set on HDR but this looks great without it on your video. Love your videos.
Great video! Looking forward to the versus videos with the LG monitors. Been struggling to choose between LG 27GP850-B and the G50A as GP850 seems to have a bit better color gamut (correct me if I'm wrong) and DP1.4. Could you give an early thought which one you'd recommend? The G50A is only 30€ more than the GP850 where I live
That would be a good vs video. The G50A would give you more contrast as the black equalizer is better than the black stabilizer. I'll get to a video in the next 2 weeks... everything being the same... contrast or perceived contrast would make the g50a the winner.
This is an LG panel works great with gaming and multitasking. Awesome monitor. Samsung makes a better monitor with an LG panel than LG does.. and I really love.. LG...
So the G50A is amazing and I would pick it over the LG except for one thing. The screen matte finish on my G50A was so think that you could actually feel it and it looked like a cloudy film grain while playing. I returned it and got the LG. The LG on the other hand had worse IPS glow so I gave up and got the Samsung 32inch Odyssey G7. 😅. Hopefully the new G52A fixed the matte screen finish.
Does anyone else have this issue when powering on the ps5 it won't auto detect and you have to turn the monitor on manualy and it shows straight away, never had a monitor do this before
I really don't know which is better g50a or g70a, i have watched many videos about compression between them, i have Xbox series x and g50a and i want a real 4k, but reviews say g70a has little colour range with less brightness, any recommendations are welcomed
It’s a great monitor! I plan to get it for my Series S. Next time can you go to the 4K tv details? It shows what the monitor supports and doesn’t support.
The BenQ would be a small bit better overall but not as bright. The G50A and similar are LG Display panels not nano. So the BenQ with the 95% dci-p3 would look a small small bit better as the G50A to my eye looks very good

Gracias bro... No se si puedo conseguir el ex2710q. Pero si en el futuro me gustaria uno nuevo con hdmi 2.1. El ex3210u el nuevo tiene el brightness muy bajo Como 298nits. Eso es may bajo... :(
Hi! I bought the Odyssey G50A with 32" Flat panel but why my Ps5 doesn't recognize the 4k, so doesn't downscale to 1440 but only to 1080p? In options i only see 1080p 60 hz and there are not upgrades in the website. Thanks
Disable freesync to get the 4k60hz to show. (That's how 1440p Odyssey Monitors current work to get the 4k). Now the 1440p is up to sony and the firmware you have. I still have not got the update yet..
@@DisplayReality thanks! What monitor do you suggest for Ps5 between this and the LG 32gp850? The colors of the G5 seem to not convince me, they seem too "hot". Can you suggest a manual calibration?
@@DisplayReality yea i see lot of ppl telling to don't use HDR on this G5 so i will probably go for 1440P SDR , do you have recommanded setting calibration to give to me pls ?
The Odyssey line among others accept the 4k signal and display it properly. This is so more info is on screen and for media devices not in 1440p display modes. Like the fire tv stick etc. It's clean and very clear. This is really important as you don't want your content at 1080p on a 1440p monitor it would look blurry but at 4k on a 1440p it's clear...
@@WVorhaus its not displaying at 4k and not 4K capable. It's displaying at 2k. It's a 2k monitor. He's quite misleading tbh. It just accepts the 4k signal that's all but downscales to 2k so you can still get 120hz for gaming on consoles. Its not natively running at 2k. You physically can't do 4k on a 2k panel. 2K Panel = 2560 x 1440 4K Panel = 3840 x 2160
