- Happy to drop back and pick up one of VP's older covers and man, was it good! I appreciate the recommendations! #voiceplay #oogieboogie #nightmarebeforechristmas #coversong #acapella #1mannzopinion #reaction #critique
I can’t believe you haven’t seen this before. It’s such a fabulous rendition & really showcases Geoff’s range & the group’s voice acting. The Santa was voiced by Eli but played by Geoff’s brother in law.
As many times as I've heard this, I didn't know Eli did the Santa voice! Great info!!
Fun reaction, again! And glad you're doing more Rachel. Here's a left field suggestion: a double, featuring "Our IVF journey" from Geoff's channel followed by "Daddy Sang Bass" from VP. It's only 6 minutes total for the pair. I don't want to say why I suggest this combo; let's just see if it gets any likes from other commenters.
Wicked is always at the top tier for me, the medley that they did was amazing (Geoff's arrangement).
When this came out, that last note of Geoff's was a real shocker to folks. IF I recall correctly, it was an E1 and the lowest he had gone at that point. There were many videos of reactor after reactor in shock over it. Of course he has gone past it now, so not such a surprise these days.
Attention is an awesome video Rachel does with Voiceplay. Done between Tony leaving and J None joining.
She hasn't done anything lately because she lives in another state and just had her third child last year.
Aw, "good ol' times"🤩 - This was the very first VP video I stumbled across on YT. And as others already wrote, the low note (and the range) of the ending hit me, never heard anything like that before. After listening a few more times to it, I searched for Geoff's solo videos and watched 'Far over the misty mountains cold" as my first one there.😊
I've been reacting to them for a while now and it's been an incredible ride
Sandy Claws is Kathy's brother voiced by Eli. Wicked is wonderful and Emoni Wilkins also returns in it. Great reaction.
Geoff is actually singing an octave deeper than the original. Ken Page, the original singer for this song, is a world-class low dramatic baritone.

Geoff has a real knack for capturing the essence of a vocal performance. Here, he's channeling the original Oogie, Ken Page. In Geoff's Headless Horseman video, he does the voice of one of his idols, Thurl Ravenscroft. It's so good someone did a side by side video and it's amazing! th-cam.com/video/Li9q1p8fW8w/w-d-xo.html Did you catch Earl "breaking" J's neck in the segment with the lighted mouthpieces?
Yes I saw that!
Geoff's last run down the musical notes shows his 5 octave range. You can count each one!
We don't get to hear Layne sing very often, but he's terrific when he does. Check out "True Colors", he's wonderful.
Will do!
Now go back and pay attention to Geoff in the background when Layne does the "have a little spice" line.
I'll go check it out
IKR, everyone misses that sick lick FeelsBadMan
Geoff is really singing this... he's done this song live, and it really is him...
I think he was only questioning it because Geoff was doing such a spot-on job.
I know the captions can get in the way sometimes, but Voiceplay will sometimes hide little jokes or Easter eggs in them. For Geoff's ending there the captions say "lower", "even lower", "subterranean". Lol.
🤣
The person doing the voices that you were referring to is Earl, their high voice for a long time. He’s phenomenal and you’ll see him in all videos before a certain time (I forget the specifics of when he left)
He left a couple years ago due to unspecified personal reasons. My favourite video with him would probably be the Queen medley
@@mityakiselev that one is SO good! They’re all amazing in it, but Earl definitely shines
@@kamianya I mean, their voices are amazing, but whoever came up with the narrative idea is a genius
@@mityakiselev every part of it is SO masterful. The narrative, the setting, the characterization, now I need to go rewatch it like ten times in a row.
Sandy Claws is Geoffs' brother-in-law and the voiceover is Eli. Geoff throws Snake Eyes with the dice. Geoff with the E1 at the end.
He was so good in this one!
That is Geoff! Earl is the other name you are looking for. The character voices are amazing here.
I hope you do ACA Top 10 80's Cartoon soon too. They also done Kidnap Santa Claws, This is Halloween, What's Tis too from Nightmare Before Christmas.
definitely have to check that out!
this was the first Voiceplay I ever listened to
I've had several people say that, it's so much fun!
@@1MannzOpinion this song started the Voiceplay rabbit hole
I can’t believe you even considered Geoff might be lip syncing 😂😂😂 I live 12 miles from Waverly 😅
I knew he wasn't but I was blown away! Waverly was awesome!
Considering the costumes and the scene, I have only one question: wot da dawg doin'?
(since Layne is Zero and he wasn't there)
I noticed that too lol
Wicked is wicked. So is The Greatest Showman, in my opinion.
Can't wait to do Wicked!
I'm subscribed, and I love your reactions, but I have to disagree with you on how "close" Geoff is to the original. If you listen to one AND the other at the same time (going back and forth) I think Geoff is clearly the deeper in most cases. When he goes UP in his register, I agree, it's close... but Geoff just sounds deeper overall to me. Also, great catch on the worms/snakes! Not too many reactors catch that! Great reaction!
Reacting to it from memory of the original it sounded really close but maybe I should go give the OG a listen again. Glad you're enjoying and thanks!
@@1MannzOpinion My pleasure. In fairness, you are one of MANY reactors who say a similar thing. I just think there is a VERY significant difference. Glad you take constructive disagreement well! Many don't. I have never claimed to be 'right' when it's my opinion.
Absolutely, I don't pretend to be an expert by any means and find that often my audience knows a lot more than I do 😅. I love the conversation and getting different perspectives from my own. @@AudioVile
Fantastic Voiceplay! 🎈
I thought I read that Santa was Geoff's neighbor...
He's Geoff's brother in law but voiced by Eli.
