My own favorites change daily, but one that I would always name is Hall of the Mountain King. But since that one is so visual, I don’t expect many people have it on their playlists.
I did notice something about your list. Eli has only arranged two songs so far for the group, and one of them - Creep - made it to your list. Since he’s going to be arranging more this year, I think you’re in for a treat. As for the rest, I think you (and myself) lean towards Layne as the arranger/director. Medleys are seamless, and he almost always gives each member a place to really shine. He also pushes them to do things that he knew they could do, even if they didn’t think so.
I think we have a lot to look forward to this year!

Voiceplay does have a way of making me really like songs that, in the original versions didn't do much for me, and I agree with your comments about Creep. I don't think I could winnow my VP favorites down enough to justify ranking them--I think I'd have about a 20-way tie for first!
Honestly a 20 way tie isn't far off from how I started 😂
My favourite is and has been "Nothing else matters". To me it has an ambiance and balance which sets it apart. As you said, everyone has their own favourites. You gave a good reasoning as much as one can when it's a matter of taste.

@1MannzOpinion since you mentioned "My mother told me" I'd suggest you to listen to a German band called Saltatio Mortis if you haven't already. They have done their cover of this song and I like it a lot. Totally different compared to Voicepla's version. In addition, they have Dragonborn come.

VoicePlay definitely provides the full audio-visual experience, and I'll never get tired of listening to them! There are some songs I like better than others, but not a single one I dislike.
I would have In The Hall Of The Mountain King in the top-10, maybe instead of Good For You (personal preference, as I love Adriana). With the rest, I pretty much agree.
Still, there are many of my favs you haven't watched yet, like The Little Mermaid medley, Moana medley, Daddy Sang Bass, Tennessee Whiskey, and of course the classic Oogie Boogie Song that got many of us hooked on VP 😍
I have heard many people mention a few of these, they are definitely on my short list

This sounds like a great thing to do! Did you react to Wicked? Another stunning Rachel and Emoni together. In Hellfire what impressed me was the other 3 singers each were a part of Frolo's psyche - J None who kept asking for Maria to protect him, Eli who echoed the basest feelings (be mine or burn), Cesar who looking for a way to blame God and Geoff who succumbed to the madness. I liked Good 4 U but loved We're Good. I'm sitting here wondering which of my 2 remaining ones would make it - In the Air Tonight and Valhalla Calling. Now I know which was yours. My list encompasses yours it's just that it so depends I what I'm craving that determines how I'd rank them. This was cool.
I haven't done wicked yet but a few people have mentioned it as one of their favorites so I'll probably watch it soon! That Hellfire breakdown of Frolo's psyche is amazing. Makes it even better really.

If I Were a Rich Man/Girl makes my list every time…but this is a great list! It’s so hard to narrow it down!
When I was relistening to them all that was one that I rated surprisingly high. It wasn't really on my radar at all but when I relistened I was shocked at how good it was. It not making the list just goes to show how good they all are!
My favourites change day to day, hour to hour but I think my current top top favourite is In My Room. I think it just showcases everyone’s talents in the best and purest way. It just makes me happy and chill.
This made me look at my views on TH-cam. Voiceplay have made 126 full videos & I watch 55 of them v regularly, 55 less regularly but still a lot & a few older ones not so much mainly because I'm not a fan of the original song. You did well to narrow it down to a top 10 I'd find that impossible.
I felt so confident when I recorded and immediately the next day thought... Oh I might could have done a few differently 😂

Great job on an essentially impossible task - I'd have trouble winnowing it down to 30, let alone 10! Seriously though. I probably agree with about half your choices, which is fair enough. If you want more Rachel, I'd suggest _Moana_ _Medley_ (which is my favourite of their Disney cartoon medleys), and _Little_ _Mermaid_ _Medley_ (which quite a few other people prefer); plus _Phantom_ _of_ _the_ _Opera_ (which is in some ways the start of VP videos as we know them). Save Halloween and Christmas ones for late in the year! Finally, do watch _Just_ _Sing_ at some point, their lockdown collab with lots of other a cappella stars, with subtitles on for nice extra info. Enjoy!
This was so much fun! I honestly don't know if I could even begin to rate VP in my own head. The one thing I would suggest after watching this list, though, is watch more Rachel Potter collabs. 😁

My top 3 are 1. Mountain King, 2. Hoist, 3. Rich Man. Honorable mention goes to Phantom, which is incredibly good for something they did so long ago, Grinch, which compares extremely favorably against other well-loved acapella groups' renditions of the same song (plus Adriana is incredible in it), and This is Halloween, which really really shows off their voice acting abilities.
I'd need more time and thought to decide on a full top ten list.
Valhalla Calling is fun in a lot of ways, but the arrangement doesn't do a great job of leaving room for a good build up to the end, and as a result it peaks too early. I can understand why someone would want to put it in the top 3, but I just can't, because of this issue. Might be able to squeeze it into a top 10, though. I do like it. But this is VoicePlay we're talking about, so the competition is fierce.
Good4U, I just have no interest in ever listening to that again, because of the lyrics: I don't want that kind of vitriol in my life. Granted, VP did not write the lyrics. Nonetheless, some songs cannot be redeemed by a better performance.

I enjoyed this list a lot! I’ll think on my top 10, but I definitely love all the songs you listed. The greatest showman is one that I particularly love, it’s so emotional to me. I love your VoicePlay videos, of course I’d enjoy a video about the honorable mentions as well! Also, we VoicePlay patrons have gotten a new one that is absolutely amazing!! I don’t know when it will be official on TH-cam, but hopefully next Friday if not already tomorrow, January 5.

Yo m8 if you like good vocals you might really enjoy reacting to "Jinjer - Pisces (live session)". That's a Ukrainian band and their female lead singer has the voice of an angel 😍
Some of these were very surprising but to each their own! My own list had to be completely reshuffled after this past year of releases because there were so many good ones.
My top 5 is looking like:
1. Seven Nation Army
2. NEM
3. Warriors
4. Bang!

@@1MannzOpinion Highly suggest their "Phantom of the Opera" with her. An oldie but really great! And I'll echo as mentioned by others "Wicked" Rachel 'soars' in both of those! Really, she's always great with them. I just think those two in particular use her voice to the utmost!
I admit that VP has gotten better and better through the years especially after they went down to the current core four with a revolving door of guest artists including past regular J None. But what surprised me is that you have no songs with Earl as part of the group. Not criticizing, just surprised. Queen in Five Minutes was about as original as song as VP has done and they did it in a way that Queen and Freddie would have been exceptionally proud of.

There is no right or wrong. We all like what we like. But your list is definitely wrong. Haha. Kidding. I do have several favorites, but that opinion can change day to day. Though according to TH-cam Music, Golden Hour was my most played video of 2023. So I guess YT is telling me it's my favorite. Who knew? 🤷♂
As musical enjoyment is subjective this isn't the definitive list despite what your title says or whom agrees with it.
