Fun stuff! As much as its fun, you also realise how such off road expeditions are not really practical when done as a family outing ; the reason why most off road capable vehicles dont go off the trail, fearing such scenarios where one could be stuck ? Imagine a family hopping into their Jimmy with little off-road experience and they decide to take such a wild uncharted trail, only to get stranded. Its also not feasible to take along a recovery vehicle (unless you travel as a group with multiple off-road vehicles) as one would simply not have the additional resources or man power to do the dirty work. Nevertheless the Jimmy looks mighty capable and at home on these terrains.
This is a proper off-road excursion. Not something you'd do with your family, unless your entire family is into off-roading. But there are off-roading groups out there which you can be a part of and join their adventures.
@@evoIndia No, sure this is indeed a professionally organised session. I was just referring to a scenario how a family can't just go on an unknown trail and get stuck where recovery isn't possible.
My dad doesn't just go off-road, he lives off-road. I wanted to buy one for him, but I ended up keeping the one I picked up for myself, and now he's buying one for himself after seeing mine. Both of us have Jimnys now.
What a wholesome story!! Happy Jimning!! keep taking the road less travelled….and keep those jimny safe…it is going to blow up like the gypsy once it’s gone…cheers👍
With so low sales numbers in India will this go the way of its predecessor the Maruti Gypsy? Before Gypsy went off the production for civilians it was available only on order and a full direct payment of 10-12 lakhs and I fear Suzuki Jimny will suffer the same fate unless sales improve. Yes the issue is with water wading capacity of 300 mm. The realtivly high price is also something to be taken note.
@@evoIndia With low sales will Suzuki make it the Gypsy way of Full amount payment on order or will we still get a vehicle loan. Very few people can afford the former and regarding me I can afford a loan only ☹️
Jimny 3 door is a hit worldwide and is sold in almost "200" countries. This 5 door will also be sold in the near future in all the 200 countries, so sales in India should not be an issue as it is manufactured here in India. Anyways it is selling where it should in hilly areas, NCR and North East and most offroad schools already have one.
That's the thing with such vehicles right ?They serve a very practical, utilitarian purpose. If you live in the hills/ mountains and need to traverse through rutted terrains, you won't be worried about road presence. You just need to get the job done and get there. Road presence is a fictional attribute a lot of Indian customers rank their vehicles on. Has no tangible benefit.
If you want road presence, go for Thar. But beware, driving a Thar is like riding a truck, which is super impractical on city roads. Jimny can do both due to its lighter steering and better gearbox.
Maruti is trying to boost sale by lending Maruti Jimny to different TH-cam influencers… Rather Maru should re-launch this car with 4X2 and price the top model around 15 lakhs on road…. In today’s scenario, people do offloading but majority of the people want to keep such car as an aspirational value. Hence Maruti don’t lose your persona. You always sell cars which do good numbers. So you stick with that mantra rather than creating perfect car for a customer.

Which Level of off-roading is possible in the Grand Vitara AllGrip, I know it cannot do Level 3, but can it manage upto level 2?

I was eagelry waiting for this video even though i dont have offroad car.
Well, it's always good to learn the skills beforehand, right?
Can we see a video where jimny and grand vitara are lifted up in a garage and their all grip systems are compared
Acctually a great video.
Good work Sirish
Nice and matured content..keep it up
Thanks a bunch Vivek.
After a long wait I got it thank you!
We wish you happy motoring!
Does it have break dust wiping ?
For the on the fly shifting from 2H to 4H while the car is moving, do we need to press the clutch? Given that we will already be in gear.
can you make such a video for manual transmission as i recently bought an mt alpha jimny
Do we need to press the clutch when we change to 4H and 4L,please explain?
Hello, I bought the same but with manual transmission….do you know if you can shift on the fly to 4x4 without using the clutch?
Want to see some more Grand vitara allgrip offroading.
Thanks for the suggestion. Do check this out : th-cam.com/video/kxK7mK1Zq0w/w-d-xo.html
What abt diff lock in jimmny

@@evoIndia how to join these off road groups?
Which one is better for offroading manual or automatic jimny?
I prefer the automatic
Automatic will make your life easier, but a manual will be more engaging.
Awesome video
Sirish missed the part where wheels should be straight ahead for on-the-fly shift. Or is that unnecessary?
Good point, as far as we know, they need to be more or less straight, but we shall try it out on the next one.
@@evoIndia also, for the beached car, putting weight on the bonnet (spotter sitting) is something you guys could have tried.
Shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as you are not on grippy tarmac. Dirt and gravel roads should allow tyre slippage and wouldn’t damage the diff.
Turning radius is higher then thar , why and how does it effect off-roading and on roads ?
Does it have locking diffs ?
it does not locking diffs.
Why HT tyres on this ??

Oh wow! Great stuff!
Dumb people, you guys could have gone for thar five door version
Thar vs Jimny which is better?
@@shubham_M7777 For me, Jimny is better as per my priorities.
Would thar do the same?
Shouldn't be a problem. The Thar is also a capable off-roader.

Super 👌

What tow rope do you recommend for purchase?
Most branded ones should do the trick. Also check the towing weight.
Great content.. unfortunately enthusiasm is like sales of jimny for these video
can you compare the gypsy stock tyre and jimny stock tyre performance in offroading 😅
That's interesting.
Never recover another vehicle with reverse gear engaged
It’s not design for that
Slow and steady does the trick.
This car is good for hill station n for mountains.. city roads or highways mein road presence ekdum nehi hain

They don't expect to sell this in high numbers anyway, there are other Maruthis for that. This is a high margin niche product
