What a fantastic video . Not a single so called car reviewer has explained this fantastic feature and excellent engineering. Thanks a lot
My pleasure, it music to my ears, Thank you and Cheers 👍
absolutely appreciate your efforts sir!!!
Best video about my Jimny. I had read the owner’s manual but i still had doubts. Your class erased all doubts! So detailed and precise. Thank you!
Went for a Jimny test drive. Came back explaining car features and functions to the sales assistant. 😄
Haha … thanks for sharing, this also happens! - so glad to hear this, cheers 😊
Happening with every one …
Sales guys explains like they are sell a swift …😅😅
Great work, this channel is going to be one encyclopaedia for the Jimny owners.
Thank you for your generous comments, appreciate it, Cheers 😊
Yet another wonderful video....I doubt whether even the showroom guys will give us such a crisp and clear explanation about the way the entire automatic gear system works on the Jimny...Hats off 👏👏👏...On a serious note you are actually boosting sales for Maruti by your videos(on a positive note)...I am sure many who were sceptical or didn't have a good impression about the Jimny because of its pricing and smaller stance, will definitely be sure to book the Jimny after watching your videos...Thanks for your videos and thanks specially for spreading positive messages at the end of the video...Keep rocking 👍
Have driven 4x4 for almost 15 but yes but I have learnt a lot from your video! You have spent valuable time learning the right way to use each system. Cheers!!!
Thanks so much for sharing! This is such a satisfying comment - many thanks again and cheers 😊
Very well explained ! Thank you for another great video
Ive had automatics all my life and 99% of the time D for Drive is all you need..... The brains in the car can figure most things for you and do keep OD on for smoother driving and better fuel economy 🎉
😊
Great video. One think that you need to be aware of is to engage the handbrake first and then shift into Park and the other way round when shifting from Park to Drive otherwise entire load of the vehicle will come onto parking pawls inside torque converter and damage them.
As for the low range, please NEVER engage 4H or 4L on a paved surface or else it will result in transmission binding.
Beautiful content.. loved the way you nicely explained all that hidden features which I ended explaining to the nexa Sales guy.. 😂 sharing this further with Nexa Goa team !!! And ofcourse booking my jimny alpha auto today . Thanks once again for the time you put in ❤
Very informative and detailed video. Thanks.

Thanks Mr. Babbar! Very insightful & informative video. I am upgrading from manual Nano to AT Jimny & was struggling to find right material online to know about AT. Just got hands on your video by chance & almost virtually got all information needed. Thanks a Million!

Just the info i was looking for. Thanks a ton.
Glad to hear that, my day is made, thank you and cheers 😀
Neat video, appreciate taking the time to explain! might add one more thing, could be useful to some. With this gearbox, you can slot it in neutral at traffic signals, engage the hand brake and switch the vehicle off (if the wait time is higher). The vehicle will start from Neutral and you don't have to put it in 'P' or "Park' mode to get the engine started. Though I am not advocating using this method often, you can try it if you are stuck in really bad traffic and it becomes too bothersome to hold the vehicle on its brakes in 'D' mode.
Makes sense, thanks for sharing this tip 😊
Excellent explanation kuddos
Thankyou so very much, you have answered all my questions, happy driving 🙏

Good knowledge
Great presentation skill
Highly appreciated 🙏😊🙏
Thanks a lot, I am so glad you liked it 😊
Respect your love for vehicles. Being someone from engineering background I enjoyed your video. I have seen many videos of official reviewers commenting on how this 4TC is old school and poorer than 6TC that comes in Brezza, Fronx, Vitara. They fail to understand the purpose of Jimny and the other cars mentioned above. Many compare this with DSG, CVT, etc. without realising how stable, reliable and proven transmission 4TC is which you need while off roading. Thanks for this beautiful and sensible video. You just got another subscriber 😊
Thank you so much for your generous compliments!
You have so wonderfully articulated the capability, utility & suitability of the 4TC for the Jimny over the 6TC, DSG and the CVT, I couldn’t have put it any better 😊.
Thank you for the sub, cheers 👍🏽
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers👍
Brilliant video❤
Thank you 😊, appreciate the compliments 👍🏽
Useful info 🙏🏽
I am Glad it was helpful! Cheers 👍🏽
Very useful and informative.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for sharing, cheers.
Really nice video. Excellent information
Thanks a lot, I am glad you found it useful 😊
Bro, Very well explained.
Thank you sir, I am very glad you like it, cheers 👍
There is a lot of hate that Jimny is garnering, but sir, people like you and me , who love cars, hate no car and see what it offers.
Your videos have not only been great but informative, insightful. Looking forward to see more of your videos in future sir!
Why hate? Who is hating Jimny? Jimny owners and Jimny lovers do not hate any other cars. We appreciate all cars. It's just like Jimny serves us best, that's why we are Jimny owners or Jimny lovers, that's it.
Thanks a lot for your compliments, my friend, I hope you are enjoying my latest video as well, I did a mileage test recently! You know, there is always resistance in acceptance of a new kid on the block, especially if that Kid is a Pint sized Dynamite like the Jimny! You just patiently wait and watch as people test drive, see videos, hear from their friends and slowly fall in love with the car! I can already see it happening around me and also through my channel. Good news is that we are the pioneers, who have been able to see the capability and the "pleasurability" of driving a Jimny, early and are enjoying the fruit, others will follow soon... Keep watching and commenting, Cheers 👍
@@handsonwithbabbarabsolutely, beautiful machine it is , proud owner of jimny alpha bluish black too !
Once again a great production. Some years ago it was NEVER tow an automatic car and I can vouch for that. Please check about the Jimny. Very important.
Thanks a lot, appreciate the compliments!! You have a valid point about towing automatic cars - the Jimny can be towed with the rear wheels off ground, gear in P and engine on, as per the owner manual, thanks for engaging. cheers, 👍
Very nicely explained sir ..thanks
Thank you so much for your kind compliments 😊
Very important information. 👍👍👍
Glad you found it useful, there is a series of 4 videos on the Jimny so far, hope you enjoyed the others too, thanks and cheers 👍🏽
Extremely useful video
Glad you found it useful 👍🏽

A very warm Namaste from India with love as well 🙏🏽
Thank you sir good going🥰🥰🥰
Thank you sir, really appreciate it 😊
Cleared many technical doubts... Thank you Sir... It will be best if you could do the class of when to shift in Auto the 4x4...that is on D, 2, L & R
Very nice explanation.
Glad you liked it, thank you 😊
Sir I am using a 35 year old maruti 800 Automatic till date. It's amazing.
Wow! That is great sir, I didn’t even know that Maruti had introduced automatics back then 🤩. Congratulations on your unique car 🚗
Superb well said 🍻
Thanks a ton 😊
Superb review
So glad you liked it, Thank you😊. Hope you have seen the follow-up videos on this channel as well & more coming soon, subscribe and stay tuned, Cheers 👍
Very good Sir. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words, appreciate it 😊
Wow ❤ review. main to fan ho gaya aap ka
Thanks a lot for saying that, it means a lot. 😊Cheers!
Excellent explanation. Very useful
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, really appreciate it!😊
Very gud video. Got a clear understanding sir. Pls continue the great job. Meanwhile can u pls share ur views on the throttle controller thats been suggested for the jimny. Thx
Thank you for your encouraging feedback!
I haven’t used a throttle controller and have heard both positive and -ve feedback, will share if I come around to installing one ….cheers 👍🏽
Similar to a mitsubishi pajero fieldmaster, it has all the modes like P,R,N,D,2,L together with Overdrive just providing 5th gear unlike the jimny 4 gear only. in the beginning it was very hard for me to utilize but time passes like yours, wisdom arrives. This video is very helpful for any vehicle owner specially if they have the 4X4 version. these concepts are carriable to other vehicle.
Thanks you and that was the objective too!
I was also wondering and struggling in the beginning and then things became clearer and I thought it’s best to share the wisdom 😊. Thanks for watching and sharing your feedback!
Nice knowledge hat's off sir
Thank you sir, I am so glad you found it useful 😊, cheers 😊
The automatic transmission dipstick can be checked on the Jimny. The engine must be hot and running in park, and the dipstick is located near the firewall on the battery side. Just needs to be checked every service. I think the fluid is jws3309.
If you're off roading and your left foot is getting hot, probably better to stop, and drive in low-range to reduce the pressure on the auto. The enemy to autos is heat.
Thanks for sharing about the AT dipstick, will check it out - I wasn't aware. Cheers 👍
Fantastic way of explaining Sir. As a jimny owner all my doubts are clear thank you.
You are welcome, I am so glad to be of help 😊. Thank you.
Very informative…
Glad you liked it! Thanks again! Cheers 👍🏽
Excellent informative video. I did test drive the Jimny AT & MT. The Nexa sales teams are not aware that 4WD should only be engaged on slippery roads. Nexa sales team have been told in their briefings that it’s safe to engage 4WD while you are driving upto 100 kmph. 😮
I did read that there is a way to engage 2L (rwd) only by installing an additional switch with wires which does not allow the sensor in the transfer case to engage the front differential in 4WD mode.
In old Gypsy’s with free wheeling manual hubs in ‘free’ position, 2L was easy to engage. I used this 2L mode a lot in my 1986 Gypsy .
Do consider a video on ‘Running In’ a new engine.
Thank you for the compliments and also sharing your wonderful experience and knowledge on the Manual Hubs, appreciate it!
On the practical side, i don't see a scenario that would require 2L specifically, what with 4WD available on demand! I also think that today's new "off-roader" neither has the patience nor the appreciation for old world tech, unfortunately!
You are right that the Nexa folks are not completely on top of the features but they are partially right on the 4WD engagement, the 4H can be engaged on the fly, when your speeds are UNDER 100 kmph as per the owner's manual, but 4L engagement is strictly on a stationary vehicle in Neutral.
Thanks for requesting, i have actually already done a video on running in, here is the link: th-cam.com/video/mLnApi1oAPA/w-d-xo.html
Have you subscribed to my channel and pressed the bell icon, if you do you will get new video updates automatically, more videos coming soon! Thanks again and cheers 👍
@@handsonwithbabbar I use the 2L when I need to crawl at very low speed on non slippery road surface, dry bumpy fields, very badly surfaced roads where in 2H, 1st gear at around 2000+ rpm is too fast to drive. In your video at 12.35 seconds you correctly quote Maruti "You should not use 4H or 4L on normal road unless they are slippery (dry dirt road is not considered slippery), it can damage the 4wd system". You must have noticed on the roads in 4H or 4L you cannot do a sharp turn or U turn, the Gypsy/Jimny feels as though the brakes are being applied progressively as you go into the turn. To avoid this problem in the Gypsy/Jimny while using the lower gearing (L) of transfer case on non slippery roads, the free wheeling hubs in early version of the Gypsy would be kept in 'Free' position. Another advantage of the 'free wheeling hubs' in the early Gypsy was in 2H the front differential was not engaged. Maruti did away with the Free wheeling hubs when they realised that majority of gypsy owners did not know about the 'free wheeling hubs' since they had not read the Owners manual.
