I own Jimny and it’s my first car . Learnt to drive after buying it. It’s an automatic. I luv driving it city n off road. Design is gears. Looks great.. luv Jimny❤
Jimny bahut practical hai chhote raston per or kisi bhi situation mein kahin se bhi cross Ho jaati Hai 8000-10000 kilometer chalane ke bad engine under power nahin lagta hai Bahut balance power Di gai hai Har jagah se bahut achcha response Mila Hai public ka Jinhone 8000 say 10000 km gadi chala li hai mujhe lagta hai ki vah behtar samajh sakte hain ki jimny kya product hai wo hamesha jimny rakhna chaha gay Comfort bahut badhiya hai True SUV
No power. No torque. No fuel economy. No space. No road presence. No internal storage options. No seat height adjustment. No rear AC. No comfort in rear seats. The list is endless. No one goes crawling up a hill every day. But if we say that off-road is its forte, even then the Jimny’s low water wading capacity lets it down. Only 300mm. Then there is the fixed axle. In India we value function and utility. Even road presence can actually be seen as a utility feature. From that perspective this car has very little utility value. The atrocious pricing was just the last straw.
Clutch becomes free after 2000 km driving. Main reason for poor sales is the incorrect pricing. A price of 12 lakhs - 12.5 lakhs on road for the base model would have worked wonders for the sales. Rest all shortcomings are manageable. I use Jimny as a daily commute vehicle.
I'll tell you the reasons plain and simple They chose to ignore legacy and went with the wrong name.. If they were making a long wheelbase car specifically for India... It should've been named Gypsy like they used to.. Not Jimny. It shouldve looked more like the Gypsy which does have that macho look and feel.. The pricing obviously was a mistake and they should've reduced the price in December instead of giving discounts... And it should've been cut by 3 lakhs ex showroom.. Not just 2 lakhs . And also... MLD should've been given as standard... Gypsy name sells in India.. Jimny doesn't...
We went to see jimny @ nexa 2 times. Me and my wife rejected it. One day someone had called jimny for test drive in my apartment. We asked for test drive, They gave. After driving, we felt like I'm driving mini Innova, drive quality is similar to Innova, which is also ladder on frame. Potholes and bad roads you don't even have to think. We booked Jimny next day. We feel it is very underrated vehicle in India. I have taken test drive for breeza, grand vitara, elevate etc. But Jimny ride quality is different.
The same car is sold globally in 190+ countries including Europe, Australia & Japan. It could not have become so popular if it did not meet their tech standards or customer expectations. One can always argue about the pricing. That is the case with all cars. indian customers always feel they are overpriced. To large extent it is due to high taxes. But i think Maruti Suzuki did not market it appropriately. It should have addressed different segments not just offloading- which is very small. Jimmy is an excellent city car. Even for the highway it is good to drive unless one is a speed monster. Can one legally drive at speeds more than 80-110 kms per hr including overtaking? It is adequately powered with a 4x4 backup for poor roads and hills. Comfort is excellent. With more and more nuclear families, size is just 3-4 members. This is the case abroad. Hence, seating for 4 is fine. Engine. The highly popular Honda City continues to have a naturally aspirated engine. There might be reasons to continue with the existing engine including pricing and emissions. Probably you need to check the vehicle after the run in period reg the clutch. Don't compare it to sedans or diesel powered turbo SUVs. Sale of diesel vehicles will increasingly go down as in the international markets. Expect the same in India. Jimny is compact from outside and quite spacious inside. Big advantage in cities where parking space is highly constrained. Ask the opinions of buyers before you share the review. It will be more realistic.
Jimny is a great vehicle, no doubt. However, I think Maruti could not assess the Indian customer perception correctly. Be it pricing, be it engine power, size etc.
I think people and even Suzuki thought to couple jimny as family cum offroad car was the first cause of failure.... It's a separate segment similar to thar, gurkha.... It is definitely not a car for a family who is buying first time..... Moreover no diesel in a 4x4 is another setback.... Cost cutting features like poor audio, dinosaur period interiors all added.... The cost is a major factor (18L ALPHA AT).. They sold some how by introducing thunder edition (2 to 3 lakhs price reduction) ... Once they lifted t offer again steep fall in sales.... But it is a fair 4x4 car to be honest...
Instead of just plain colors, some designs on the body would improve its appeal and then it could compete with thar cuz one of the major things today young people look for is looks, otherwise plain jiminy doesn't just gets u in first look.
Yes sir u r right mere frend ne mujhe nicha dikhane ke liye jimmny li or wo bs poucho hi na ky haal h uska. 😂😂😂😂 Har emi ke sath puri company ko gali deta h. 😂😂😂😂
Place the jimny next to an alto or Maruti car, it will look more smaller in width than those two small cars in India. First look itself is a shit, give 4x4 to Nano. I will go for the later😂
Koi koi lug reveiw bana k paisa kama ne ka chakkar me...bala gari accha kiyu na ho.Brother choice is ones own required as per their need.Thar ko office le jaega toh koi gadda samajta hein.it does not mean thar is bad .its all need of time.seven seater ko duty pe le jaega apko haas parengge.peoples choice not only for looks but go for maintenance of the vehicle which is in the market and low cost maintenance.
Jimny is shit. It costs the same as thar, but has a massively weak engine. It reaches only 136nm at 4000rpm. Thar reached 350nm as early as 1200rpm. The bhp too is shit. And lets not forget the build quality of maruti. 17 lakhs is not justified just because its a 5 door.
I own Jimny and it’s my first car . Learnt to drive after buying it. It’s an automatic. I luv driving it city n off road. Design is gears. Looks great.. luv Jimny❤
Excellent points sir. Excellent. Jimny will age well. Jimny sales will improve. But gradually.
Iske paas thar hai to thar iski pasand hai isliye jimny ki burai hori
Abe ghan chakkar.. na thar sahi hai na jimmy. Kyun ki. Thar sirf show off copy cate hai. Aur jimmy sirf petrol m hai. SUV only on petrol..
Jimny bahut practical hai
chhote raston per or kisi bhi situation mein kahin se bhi cross Ho jaati Hai
8000-10000 kilometer chalane ke bad engine under power nahin lagta hai
Bahut balance power Di gai hai
Har jagah se bahut achcha response Mila Hai public ka
Jinhone 8000 say 10000 km gadi chala li hai mujhe lagta hai ki vah behtar samajh sakte hain ki jimny kya product hai wo hamesha jimny rakhna chaha gay
Comfort bahut badhiya hai

Driving thar and reviewing Jimny😂😂.. Well explained very well.

it's not the "main reason", it's the "only reason". It's price should have been same as the Fronx.
@@MondayMorning-yv7nf You are right. An on road price around 12 - 12.5 lakhs will make all shortcomings invisible :)
Vedio Thar ka hai 😅?????
Great channel and real honest review sir......hope ur channel will flourish
Thanks a ton
I'll tell you the reasons plain and simple

Correct view I agree. I am a THAR owner 4x4 diesel. Its a superb vehicle THAR.

I have taken test drive for breeza, grand vitara, elevate etc. But Jimny ride quality is different.
Yes. Jimny ride quality is really good.
This is called herd mentality, and it defies reason.
The same car is sold globally in 190+ countries including Europe, Australia & Japan. It could not have become so popular if it did not meet their tech standards or customer expectations.

True. But i think they did not want to change anything (except 5 doors) since it is also meant for export to markets where it is already popular.
And dont forget seat height adjustment, rear seat belt sensors
भाई अब इण्डिया मे इतना ट्रेफिक है की 80 100 sabse achi gadi bhi isi ipeed pr chalti है

I could not agree more with you!
Instead of just plain colors, some designs on the body would improve its appeal and then it could compete with thar cuz one of the major things today young people look for is looks, otherwise plain jiminy doesn't just gets u in first look.
Yes, more choices as you mentioned, accessories, off-road events and competitive Pricing (which they have done I think) would be good to go!
Bro I am jimny fan
Price was the only con
Same mistake that they did with versa see how popular it is as echo
Slash price by 30-35%
Yes, a major reason. I also think its size also played a negative role.
Perfect example of stereotypes 👍
Well said
Jimny इस था बेस्ट
You look like xaavi
