Wrong. My issue, as I have said many,many times before, is with SHUTTER-PRIORITY mode, not manual. So this setting does not apply. And YES I did try it. Simply carefully watch my video, and do exactly as I do, and you’ll see the same result. It is not user error. Also ISO is FIXED at 200.
Ken, Yes sorry about that - but you can either believe me that my settings were 1) aperture set to "A", 2) ISO set to 200, and 3) shutter speed set to 1/4000, or you can simply do the test yourself. I know you have plenty of cameras :) and even your own xt-30. Why not just try it? it will take you 30 seconds. You can even do a video showing how wrong I am!! FYI I'm not the only one who tried this. I went to my local camera shop and asked the "Fuji expert" and he got out an Xt--30 (and then an Xt-3 to make sure it worked the same), and he was flabbergasted that the problem actually did exist! He had no good explanation... other than..."wow...that's weird"... It's not me, Ken, it's the camera. It wish it wasn't - I really wanted to get into the Fuji system.

Sadly no. I can’t find any of the so-called “experts” who will honestly simply try to duplicate my setup and explain this issue. When confronted with facts, many you tubers simply fold. Sigh.

Then go into a dark room. Preview will look perfect but picture output will be completely dark. This is just plain wrong.
Sorry don't think so. It's orange because the image is underexposed I agree, but my point is the live view does not represent the underexposure. The camera is set to "auto" aperture (aka shutter priority) with ISO fixed at 100. There are NO settings that will affect this test positively. If you know of one, please be specific in your reply. I've begged others to repeat this test and refute my findings. To date, no one has done so. It's simply a bug - I wish Fuji would fix it. Thanks for the comment.
The Fujifilm champs will suggest extremely stupid possibilities to fix the issue but the reality is that Fujifilm is not that great if you remove the "Film Simulations". The after sales service is pathetic too and many people don't understand but in my opinion the X100 cameras are like ticking time boombs they look good and all that but once you are stuck with Sticky Aperture Blade issue etc Fujifilm wouldn't be all that nice.

As far as I know, there has been no change to this behavior for Fuji cameras. As long as you use Aperture Priority, it works fine. But not for SP.
Yes, this exactly the problem I have ! no exposure preview with shutter priority, still in 2024 with xt5

I think theres an exposure setting for the "live view" that you can change.

WHY????? i can tell you WHY thats an option.......its there for FLASH/ STROBE photography (most of which is in manual mode)

It's orange BCS u maybe need to change your aperture to get more light BCS u underexposed, and you haven't turned live view on ,on your Fuji
