The X-T30 most definitely has a metal body. It's a really light-weight magnesium alloy and not some outdated stuff like brass. This alloy is a great and cheaper alternative to the more premium titanium.
This review just made me feel even better about my purchase for my wife for Christmas. Can't wait to hear her geek out when she finally puts it through its paces.
@@Est4life13djk She really likes it. The button placement on such a small body takes a little adjustment, and she really wants more lens choices, but it takes great photos, and is a great platform at a great price.
Your review of the X-T30 is still relevant even 3 years after it’s making! Your video was one of the first that I watched, liked and subscribed to when I was still deciding among 3 other FF cameras, Sonys, and Nikons. (Sorry, Canon, I just don’t like you.) And after a couple of months of watching and reading reviews, I made a leap of faith and ordered a refurbished XT-30. Then I watched this review again, and I just want to say THANK YOU again, but this time, it’s for making me feel really good about buying it.
I’m an amateur concert videographer for punk/indie bands and I’m on the fence between the Sony A6400 and this X-T30. I need quick auto-focus to capture fast-paced movements like the A6400, but the color grading and vintage feel of the X-T30 can make the blurriest shots look like art. Both cameras are compact, portable, and each have their pros and cons. I love making cinematic videos of concerts I go to, but I’d like the make sure they’re actually in focus and not wobbly or blurry. I need help making a decision!
Hey I would go with the sony because you can always look up "fuji color recipes" and ad them to your photos. Auto focus is a must for you and sony does it the best
Great review! You've just pushed me over the threshold for buying this camera I've been looking at for a few months now! As a beginner wildlife photographer this camera is just what I need! Thanks for sharing!
@@codexan After more research I ended up pre ordering an XS10 instead! It was a happy place between the XT30 and Xt4 which was a little too pricy for me. I just got my camera last week and I'm absolutely loving it.
Wonderful, wonderful review and video! I'm more of a visual learner than an audio one, but with your video, I listened all the way through! Thanks for a job well done! And for the review...!
Startup time? Shutter lag? Time it takes to turn on camera with evf only selected? - screen only selected? Time it takes to switch between screen and evf when eye sensor is used? Shutter sound /vibration? Menu speed? Walkthrough of the film simulations and all the jpeg settings? Hello..?
It's a great camera. I guess the only thing it would be nice to have in addition is weather sealing, but there's the XT3 for that. I like the flash and the auto button on the XT30 and the £££ saving.
I have the XH2s and looking for another body from Fuji as a secondary video camera. I like the form factor and small body of the xt30 . How does it perform as a video camera?
Thank you for this video! You have gained a new subscriber! :) I really like how this camera works when it comes to photography however I would like to do vlogging, cinematic videos also on top of photography. Which camera would you recommend? I appreciate you help! Thank you
This feature gets rarely talked about but what about being able to directly connect with your phone? Is this standard in all modern cameras or are there big differences?
I'm in the market for a good travel / documentary camera and this could be it. I love my Canon 5d MkIII but its way too big for that purpose.Small and discrete is key.
Hey , So i am looking to switch my d5300 Nikon and go to the Fujifilm world, The photography is only a hobby for me , and most of the time i am taking pictures , never use video , What is your advice , should i start with the xt30 or xt20 , the price is the same .
hey thanks for the excellent information. I would use the viltrox fx-1 adaptor for canon ef/efs lenses, not the speed booster. any experience, feedback on that thought? i did view the youtube where adaptor is tested on x-h1 with several canon lenses of which i have about 3-4 of the ones tested, the result was good. same sensor and processor so it should work similarly with the t30. also, my thought is to get the viltrox 23mm f1.4 for my walk around, low light usage. all feedback is appreciated. again thanks, i enjoyed your presentation.
Hi there! I loved this review extremely informative. My question to you is ... I’m new, as fresh as could be. The guy at the shop recommended to me the cannon 90D $2100NZD. I came across your review and feel like this could be for me. I’m looking at doing more landscape stuff and the odd photo of my kids. Again I’m completely new and would be learning everything as I go. I found a package with this camera and a 35mm portrait lens for 2339.00
Hey there, I bought one of these a year ago with the kit lens and did a camping holiday on the auto setting, as I didn't have time to learn the system. Covid covid blah blah blah, fast forwards 12 months and I love it so much I've bought a second reconditioned body and a 60mm macro 1:2 lens for it. I'm off auto and I couldn't be happier with my set up. I've used SLR, DSLR, all kinds of makes, but this is really the best camera I've owned... If you didn't already make the decision, do it.
Hey man, thanks for the review. I was really hoping this would be the answer to the A6400. I really don't want the rolling shutter that comes with it. What would be the best alternative to the A6400 for around the same price point. I don't mind the lack of IBIS but I can't deal with that RS. Thanks ✌️
Smart Phones have come a long way in 10 years but a DSLR or Mirrorless camera will be better but its really more about the skill you have a photography, for the last 6 years I've used my Galaxy S5 - S8 and a old nikon dslr now and again and overall the bigger camera will make a difference but it depends on what type of Photography your doing. Check out Roman Fox he does a video talking about why gear doesn't matter and he explains all the little things that most people leave out.

So about the auto focus.. would mounting this in my car dash and recording my drives not be a great idea?
It's not $800 -- it's $1200 CAD or $950 USD for just the body alone!
Check gpu and chip prices. It’s silicon shortages
