    Second day of Carnivore after being stalled on Keto: (1) Breakfast: Coffee with 1 oz of heavy whipping cream. (2) Lunch: 16 oz Ribeye topped with kerigold irish butter and seasoning (3) Dinner: 16 oz grass fed hamburger in two 8 oz patties with swiss and cheddar & 5 farm raised eggs. That is easily 2800 calories and I lost 2 pounds in one day. BEST DIET EVER!!

    I use to be 333lbs the end of Jan. And now I'm at 298lbs, ive been stuck on this weight for about 3 weeks now, been having a hard time sticking with my diet change so I'm going to try the carnivore diet and stick with it for a few months. My next goal weight is to be under 270lb and I'm going to do it. 😎
    *UPDATE* I am now officially at 279lbs, although I must admit I made changes to the Carnivore diet and have started a ketogenic diet. I did fall off my healthy eating habits a few times especially around the holidays but after 2 or 3 days I jumped back on and now I am extremely happy with my progress. Here's to some more weight loss. Good luck, everyone and don't give up.

I have autoimmune issues and my last visit, my physician was impressed with the improvement in my lung function and blood glucose level. I gave him a list of physicians and dieticians, because I did my research before I attempted to alter my diet. I'll have another blood work up in 6 months. I'm in Canada so most of the meat is antibiotic free, I try to stay away from the factory farmed meat (unless I'm broke) I need to invest in a small freezer so I can buy a half a cow. My mom used to soak her liver in buttermilk with a clove of garlic & half an onion for a few hours before frying it up in some butter. You can always try that.

      Hayden Thomas are you eating enough fat? Try upping that and see how you feel! You also may not be eating enough in general. Protein takes more energy to be digested so by the time it has been, you have burned through around 30% of the calories!

    • @tracylynnaz9066
      @tracylynnaz9066 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hayden Thomas I felt that way until I started to literally eat spoonfuls of butter with my meals. But also getting a variety of fats. I used rendered tallow and lard and honestly it’s a game changer. Butter alone isn’t enough. You might need the vitamins and what not that the different fats have to offer. For instance, if I cook my breakfast in pork fat, I am much more satiated than if I use Twice the amount of ghee. I add 2 tbsp of tallow to whatever meat I am eating. Also....try shredding your meat and eating it in broth with a few tbsp of fats. I have been doing this for my evening meal and not only does it top me off, but it helps me sleep like a baby.

    • @red57dryad
      @red57dryad 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      If you "gag" at the sight of food, it doesn't mean your body isn't eating. .it's eating the "stored" energy in fat cells. .. listen to your body! !! It sounds like you are doing just fine! Btw, on any type of nutrition plan that cuts out the toxic crap we've been feed for most of our lives, There will be "adjustments", these "adjustments " literally take years to complete. ..we have so much toxins built up it takes a very long time to rid ourselves of them. Do not worry though as you will feel better than you have since being a teenager! Seriously! Keep at it! !

    Highly recommend doing at least a Loose zone/Mediterranean diet for at least couple weeks b4 keto/ Carnivore if ur on a higher carb diet. It won’t cause any issues, and gets ur body used to less carbs and more fats, and then u can gradually lower the carbs and raise the fats over a few weeks until ur in ketosis. It’s a really easy diet to maintain, and the only crucial aspect to try and get around 30% of calories from protein, at least 30% from fat and try to keep carbs 40% or less. I did this for 4 years b4 doing keto, and loved how easy it was after u get used to balancing macros. Hope this helps!

    I recently had a microbiome test done and so many “good” keto veggies were on my list to AVOID! I had been fretting because I was mostly eating meat and eggs. It’s a joyful moment when you listen to your body. Plus, I was using it as an excuse to sneak in some carbs...because I felt like I wasn’t eating enough food. 😂 When you mentioned the 💯 % commitment i was actually thinking of having sweetened condensed milk in tea. Phew! You stopped me! I had a tough time getting off sugar and it is the hardest to stay away from. I wondered if I was craving it because I lost 40#, with fasting/keto, and my body WANTS me to go back to setpoint. Has anyone here found that this diet wipes out The setpoint issue? I’m 7# below it now and cravings are as demanding as a toddler. I still have 20# (at least that is what is on my mind) but I got on this way of life (fasting/keto) 6 months ago for health issues I was having (seizures/autoimmune/MS-still in diagnostic nightmare). I took the bull by the horns and it has really helped...now I will move from keto to carnivore and see if that gives me relief. Thanks for your informative channel. 💝🦹🏻‍♀️

I was told that I should eat until full...but I still need a guideline so I won't overeat meat. 2 weeks into carnivore, but first week I still ate a bit of veggies and salads (really miss them), 2nd week I started to eat 600 g of meat, sometimes 750 g and yesterday I had almost 900 g which was bit too much.

      I was 100 pounds overweight and making myself deathly sick, predisposing myself to type 2 diabetes, increased blood pressure and moderately severe edema. In 1 year following Dr Berg's ketogenic food plan, I lost 65 pounds and my muscle tone considerably improved. However, I got stuck at 220, and I was told by Dr Ken Berry and others I should try carnivore for a month as that sometimes breaks the plateau and allows a person to start losing weight again.
      I forgot to mention I discovered Dr Jason Fung and now do One Meal A Day, intermittent fast for 24 hrs, but if I do eat breakfast, it is semi-fatty bacon, 1/2 avocado, 2 eggs if they're large, 3 if medium. That was more than four months ago, and I found the easiest way to jump-start it was water fasting for 3 days, as your body resets its hunger & metabolism, so you're very comfortable on one meal a day.
      I also forgot to say I'll be 76 on Feb 17th 2019. My resting blood sugar's fallen from 15 > 5.65, and since going on the carnivore I'd a dramatic reduction in all my chronic pains, which were considerable, so I've gone from taking 6 to 8 codeine a day to 2 in the morning and often going without anything the rest of the day! 3 years ago I was on Tramadol, a synthetic morphine, that's how bad the pain was.

    I gotta go back to carnivore, I did it for 4 months (because I had a digestion issue that required zero carbs to fix). I lost so much weight but muscle was fine and I just felt like my immune system/inflammation was so much lower and I wasn't constantly bloated. After I fixed the digestion issue I went right back to carbs and it's so freaking hard to get off them again, not because I don't have self control but because you have to plan your meals more, it's hard to just grab a snack with meat and I don't like to cook for 25 minutes when I get home from work, I just want to heat something up and eat. But that said, on days I don't want to cook I can just get grilled chicken and beef patties from Mcdonalds (yes they let you just order meat! it's awesome).

      95TurboSol Sounds better than in the past, but I still stay clear of fast food as inconvenient as it can be. 100% beef in our country just means any cow parts from a GMO corn, antibiotic & growth hormone etc. fed cow. It’s not likely McDonalds is picking the best quality out of all that either, and probably cooking it w canola oil. Should be fine for weight loss goals, but many are trying to heal their bodies by returning to a primal way of eating. Not sure McDonalds is going to cut it, but who knows maybe it will. That would be a brutal blow to the struggling vegan community-Carnivores healing themselves w the help of the McDonald’s drive-thru! 😂

  • @wellbeing-warriors
    @wellbeing-warriors 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Not true about antibiotics or growth hormones in the UK.
    Most farmers will use antibiotics if the cow is sick as the cost to lose one is too high. However, many will separate from the rest of the heard.
    I feel this is an ethical approach to farming.
    Note: this is in relation to independent farmers who state they naturally rear their livestock on a traditional (grass fed) diet and NOT supermarket.
    It's worth a quick call to ensure there's no sneaky marketing terminology to make you think it's good quality meat. Such as 'grass fed' being the first week, then switching to a grain diet!
    Also, top tip for butter. Kerrygold in the UK is from pasture raised, grass fed cattle and has always been the best value

    Kait - I hope you see this because I need to know. So far, I can't find a video that tells me exactly how much meat to eat a day and how often. I was a dedicated Keto dieter and had lost 50 pounds last year and then I started feeling bad. I was having all these weird symptoms from day to day and, some days, no symptoms. I do know that I had no energy at all. I go to the doctor every three months and have lab work done, so I thought I was doing okay health-wise and almost started thinking it was the Keto diet. By December 2018, I just did not feel good at all and, in fact, didn't even go Christmas shopping except for what I bought my grandkids online. January 20th, 2019, I woke up early with this horrible pain in the right lower quadrant of my stomach. My daughter took me to the ER, a CT Scan was done where I was found to have colon cancer and off to surgery the next day. I was in the hospital for 7 days. The first 5 days, I was offered no food at all. I don't know if the pain drugs kept me from being hungry or the Keto diet. But, for 5 days, I ate nothing and didn't care. Thank God for Keto. When I got home from the hospital, all my taste buds had changed. I only wanted donuts and pizza. Plus, it was easy to keep by my bed cause it was painful to get up. I couldn't stand long enough to stand in the kitchen and cook, so I was having a good time with the donuts and pizza. At this time, the softball-sized tumor they removed was being tested and then sent to California for further testing, so it wasn't until March 18th until I found out if I was going to live or die. Tests came back good and all the cancer was removed during surgery and I would not need any chemotherapy. Once I felt better, I came and got on my computer and pulled up all my lab work from my doctor. OMG, there were so many things that were wrong and my doctor just didn't pay any attention to it. I will never have another test done that I don't review in full and I urge everyone to do this. I really feel if I had not been on the Keto diet, that tumor would have broken through my colon wall and got into my lymph nodes and I would have probably died. Sugar feeds cancer and I wasn't hardly eating any sugar for 2 years. I was also so anemic and my doctor let me be like that for close to a year. What I'm wondering is if you have any suggestions of why my taste buds changed. I've tried to get back on Keto and the sugar cravings are so bad. I decided I'm going to go Carnivore but I've got to find out how much meat to eat. I think I can pull this off for at least a month. How much weight have you lost doing Carnivore?? Thanks so much for any suggestions you might have.

Ive never had a flu nor a cold.

I recently moved from New Zealand to India and found it very had to source clean pork(as everyone around here says its not safe in this country as it contains ring worms), Beef which was just so good back in New Zealand, I gave buffalo a try but its just not as fatty and the taste seems weird. I really enjoy the Goat here and thought maybe I will try eat the organs such as liver and brain to give me all the essential minerals. I was just wondering Im moving from free range to caged animals will it be safe for a carnivore diet and if you guys have some other food suggestions that I can include in my diet? Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's going to be my first time trying this diet. Cheers

    So starting off I'd keep in eggs and dairy. The reason why is that just eating muscle meat will not give you all of the nutrients you need. You need to eat food sources that are nutrient dense such as organ meats and pure fat. For must people starting out telling them to eat liver, heart, testicles, brain, bone marrow, or just cubes of fat is really hard. Eggs are amazingly nutrient dense and has a nutrient profile similar to organ meats. Grass fed raw butter and cheese also has incredible nutrient profiles and will help you get all that you need. Also don't forget fish, get for your omegas and eventually you can progress into roe, oysters, and other high nutrient dense foods.

    I’m actually curious, in what way do people rationalize eating this way? To my knowledge our bodies are not composed in the same way as carnivores. Also are we just going to ignore fiber and vitamin C, or do carnivores supplement for these things. Also wondering if we are ignoring the link between red meat and cancer. Would love to hear people’s opinions on these ideas if anyone could!

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      All very valid questions and I had all the same concerns when I started looking into this way of eating. I'll start by saying I do not know if this way of eating is good long term, for everyone, but I do believe there are benefits from at least doing it short term. There are people who have been doing it for decades who claim to feel amazing and haven't dropped dead from scurvy.
      Fiber is actually not something we need and even before starting this experiment, I was coming to see it is over emphasised in our diets. Too much causes bloating and constipation. People with chronic constipation are put on liquid (0 fiber) diets. I am not arguing that fiber has no benefits, but cutting it out for a bit can give your gut a chance to heal.
      The theory behind vitamin c is that it competes with glucose for absorbption into your cells. No glucose and any trace amounts of vitamin c you consume is absorbed. There are very small amounts in grassfed beef and more in beef liver.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The link between meat and cancer is only seen in population studies which don't prove anything. There are so many other factors that are at play it is impossible to pinpoint red meat as the issue. It is often consumed with refined carbs and sugary drinks, cooked in vegetable oil... There are no studies proving red meat causes cancer.
      I read an article the other day and the headline was: plant based diets reduces risk of heart disease. The way they grouped people was in a way that plant based included plants and fish, and another category grouped fast food, deep fried food and red meat. Headlines can be really misleading is my point.

    • @mitchmiller3961
      @mitchmiller3961 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BY K8 I appreciate the response, and although I still don’t think I agree with this diet, if you find it helps you then that makes it valid for you. Personally I have found that consuming mainly plant based food has helped me, but that’s only my experience. I’m wondering if you’re open to trying other diets on your channel or if this is just a one time thing, because that could be interesting to watch and see how you feel after trying them, just like this video!

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is fair enough! If you have found something that works for you, that is what is most important.
      I am definately open to trying different diets and have definately thought about taking a drastic turn and doing a 100% plant based diet to compare. However, I am hesitant because my past experience with different ways of eating has led me to this point and I feel like it would be really hard to not be biased.
      For some context, my health journey has went something like this. I originally switched from basically the standard American diet where I wasn't cooking often, ate a decent amount of fast food and sugar. I cut out all refined sugar and carbs and focused on whole foods and felt 100x better. I was also limiting my meat consumption just because that's what I thought was healthy, and focused on carb loading before workouts. I am a cyclist and I found that I would feel pretty good at the start of my ride after a big bowl of oatmeal, but if I didn't eat something before the 1.5 hour mark, I would crash and burn. This was extremely frustrating. Not to mention I found I was having to eat often and my energy would crash throughout the day.
      I then started focusing on eating more fat and less carbs, and felt even better. I cut out bread and oats completely and that helped as well. Then I heard about keto and cut my carbs even further which was a game changer. I could go for bike rides fasted, for hours and feel fantastic! Plus my energy was stable throughout the day. I was still eating lots of veg at this point.
      An issue I have always had is with snacking. I will struggle with eating when I am bored. When I started carnivore, my urge to snack disappeared completely which was like a weight lifted off my shoulders haha. My energy was the same as with keto though, so I have since started to add back in some plants foods, and with that I have found my urge to snack has come back a little bit so still trying to work on that.
      Anyway, I don't know if you wanted my whole story haha but that is where I am coming from. I find I function a lot better on a higher fat, lower carb diet. Any diet that consists of wholefoods is going to be a huge improvement over the SAD.
