      Hi Steve. I would like to use the core the other way around, as a gateway to the multiroom system. To listen to the CD's from the Beosound 9000 on wireless Beousound 2 speakers. So i would like to connect the BS9000 to the line input of the core and than "stream" this signal to the BS2 speakers. Is that possible? Thanks.

    Hello Steve! I emailed to you a few weeks ago about my beosound 9000 not spinning despite a new laser was installed just March this year and to connect the beolab 8000 to my onkyo amp. So i first brought the beosound back to the repairer to complain but miraculously, the thing immediately worked again! I just found out the trick to NOT turn off the machine in the power outlet (or disconnect the plug) at home and there shouldn't be any problem!

    After 17 years in storage in a basement in Denmark my old Beosound Ouverture and Beolab 8000 speakers have finally made their way to UK and into my living room. The speakers work perfectly and remain in absolute mint condition, whereas the Ouverture unfortunately has a laser fault and a broken or faulty drivebelt for the cassette player, but is otherwise also in mint condition. Planning to have those faults fixed in the near future I have played around with different ways of playing streaming music in the mean time. The first one I tried was your tip on how to give the speakers WIFI capability via the line ports and an Apple Airport unit, which works a treat. However, I wish to be able to use my Ouverture as well (the radio works and hopefully the CD player and the cassette player will soon be fixed too) without having to crawl around flipping the little switch in the connector housing at the base of the speakers, every time I want to swap between WIFI and Ouverture as input. My solution has been to connect a little Echo Dot via its 3.5mm port to the AUX port on the Ouverture, which works great and I can now play streaming music using voice commands as well as internet radio channels and all the other things the Echo will do. The only problem is that the volume, as expected, is fairly low even with the Echo Dot turned up to full volume and I find myself having to turn the volume up on the Ouverture from typically around 28 to 32, when playing through the Echo Dot. I there any fix for this problem? It is admittedly only a minor problem, and I am planning on getting a BEO4 remote control so I can easily adjust the volume via the Ouverture, but it would be fantastic if there is a way of achieving roughly the same volume output whether I (in the near future) play a CD, the radio, or streaming music via the Echo dot. Sorry for the very longwinded question 😄

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, there will always be slight differences in the volume levels of different devices, but you can get them quite close. This cable will allow you to connect an Echo Dot to the Aux socket on the back of your B&O system and it costs from just £14.99 GBP including shipping:-
      soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/67-298-minijack-to-aux-in-ipod-to-beosound-beomaster-beocenter-using-aux-din-socket.html#/2-length-1m
      Please set the Echo volume to maximum when connecting to the B&O system - this is normal when using a portable music player with a home audio system due to the low output levels produced by the Echo.
      To listen to the Echo, simply press "A.Aux" on the B&O keypad, or select this on the B&O remote control by pressing the "LIST" button until the display shows "A.AUX", then pressing "GO".

    Hi Steve, thanks for the video. I have the following question. I have a Beosound 9000 (two Beolab speakers attached through PL) and two Beolab 3500 (connected using the MasterLink cable). What is the most userfriendly way to incorporate a Beosound Core into this setup? Beosound Core as AUX input on Beosound 9000, use Beosound 3500 by switching to AUX to listen to Beosound Core content. Beosound Core is added to be able to listen to Radio (Tune-In, Spotify, etc. as regular UKW radio is unavailable). Guess devices are controlable with the new B&O Remote?

    Hello!
    I’ve got a beosystem 5500 and I would like to connect my technics turntable into it. I was trying a few times, but It didn’t worked. The sound was terrible and very silent. The pickup is new. What should I do to be able to listen to vinyls? Does it means that I should buy preamp or is there something wrong with my turntable?

    • @soundsheavenly

      Hi Tony, yes the Core has a high quality digital to analogue converter (DAC) inside that is used when you take the analogue output of the Core via the RJ45 socket, this ensures that you get the full sound quality for your digital music, whichever output you use for the connection.

I thought the Powerlink connection on the Core was an output to connect to the speakers. How would I then connect an older Beocenter 2 for instance to this same Powerlink connection on the Core? Hi Daniel, please don't use a splitter to link two music systems to one set of speakers. How do you connect a soundbar to a Beomaster 6500. Soundbar has RCA, optical, HDMI and USB.
    I already have the speaker ports on the amp used for speakers so I'm a little confused

      Only thing is that the output level is soooo low coming from the active soundbar (with wireless subwoofer).
      I wonder if I need to use BOTH Powerlink ports instead of just one.

    Hello Steve, our Beosound core has stopped functioning despite best efforts to get it fixed! What are our alternatives if we don’t want to spend $1000+?

      Hi, I suggest either Sonos Port, Bluesound Node, Apple Airport Express, Google Chromecast Audio, Audiocast M5, Wiim Mini or any Bluetooth receiver for wireless music from your phone to the B&O system (sorry I don't sell these devices, but I can help with the cables at soundsheavenly.com once you have made your choice!)

    Hi Steve, Bit of differents for the B&O 95 seconds challenge!
    Your mission, should you choose to accept it. lol
    Is it possible to connect the B&O EarSet 1 Home earphone to a computer?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, good question! If you have the version of Earset 1 with 3.5mm ear and mic plugs, then yes, this should plug straight into any modern computer via the microphone and headphone ports. Unfortunately the version with the special plug for the Serenata moble phone won't adapt to anything else without special remedial work....

    Hi Steve! I got a B&O Core, B&O Transmitter 1, Beolab 18 & 19 in addition to a Beosound 9000. I usually stream music through Tidal/Core, but since I have this Beosound 9000 from bygone times, I connected it through B&O Transmitter 1. The cable is connected through the headphone outlet on BS9000 and further on to the RCA input on the Transmitter 1. I then use remote B&O 4 to run it. A B&O store told me this would be the best setup for the BS9000 because the Core software cannot manage the BS9000, only a stand alone remote as B&O 4. Since you in this video explain how to connect the BS9000 directly to the Core, I'm very curious how you control the BS9000 through the Core software? Looking forward to your reply! SMILE!!

      @soundsheavenly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, that is a great setup! You can easily connect the Core to the 9000, but they cannot easily control each other. I suggest using the B&O app for the Core and the Beo4 remote for the 9000. Please ask if you need any help with cables!

      Yes, I can help! Please purchase either Apple Airport Express, Google Chromecast Audio, Audiocast M5, Tibo Bond Mini or any Bluetooth receiver for wireless music from your phone to the B&O system (sorry I don't sell these devices, only the cables!) This cable will allow you to connect any of the devices listed above to the Aux socket on the back of your B&O system:-

      There is a limit to what I can cover in 95 seconds! If you use a BeoRemote One (version with both Bluetooth and IR) then you can use one remote to control both the Core and the 9000. Hope that helps?
