Bang and Olufsen 9000 CD, how to take apart for maintenance for playing error for Load CD

The Bang & Olufsen 9000 6 disk CD player suffers with dust issues which prevents the CD mechanism from locating the CD and/or playing the Disk.
This video just shows you how to take the unit apart and how and where to clean it.
This is clearly better than the recommendation that seems to be the norm online which is to replace the laser.

Really helpful. The service manual isn’t as specific as you. Also nervous about taking it apart even though I’m a electronics engineer. I’ll try doing what you did. My issue is when I ran the diagnostic mode I found there is a focus error. I theorized it might be a dirty lens, a weak laser of bad solder joint

Yes sorry I did not do that.
Basically the CD arm lights up and most of the time moves to the CD selected but does not spin and pick up the CD. I thrne makes and number of noises as if it is misfiring.
All over the B&O forums they will say it is a laser replacement. This is not the case. Just a dam good clean/de-dust needed!

Not sure how you got this spelled wrong, but actual name is not "Band and Olufsen"... The brand is called "Bang & Olufsen" as the founders had the names "Peter Bang" and "Svend Olufsen". I developed some of the software in this CD player.

Good morning! My first CD is stuck and the glass won't open. It appears that the unit is looking for a pin code, but none of the buttons will respond for me to put it in, nor does there seem to be a way to put in the pin code by using the remote. Help! The CD is from the library Best,

Very helpful. I have Beosound 9000 mk3, I normally clean the laser head with cotton stick without removing any part, there is a small gap between the laser panel and upper cover. Could you also show how to replace the laser? Thank you

Can I ask how are the speaker's connected. Is it din in each speaker,? Thinking of getting 9000 mk3 and 6000 speakers but not sure what to buy to connect. Also will 6000 wireless ones work with a 9000 mk 3. Thanks
