      As always, thank you for your kind offer Steve. I will need to take some measurement for the wiring, but since this upload really got wheels spinning, now I want to see "systems" if you will, like my flat screen TV's and smaller more portable all in one sound system might work through the various plug in ports that they have.
      I'm always amazed at your electronic wizardry. I dare say that if I still had my little *Heathkit crystal radio that had to be assembled and would be powered by batteries, that you could make into a modern day surround system.
      * If you're not familiar with the name. Heath & Co. started approximately in the 1940's and "Heathkit" was their branded name for electronic equipment that had to be assembled. They made a child's "kit" if you will that, that I received for Christmas in 1951. I had so much enjoyment "building" my own radio and I stayed up late on our Presidential Election Day in November 1952 and listened to the election results coming in through my headphones that were being transmitted until we (America) knew who was going to be our next President. It was Dwight David Eisenhower. THAT name should be familiar to you!😉 Back in the day, there was the slogan of "I Like Ike!" that his campaigners had been handing out throughout the country and I actually wore one of those small campaign buttons that night while listening. WOW, I had not thought of memory 'til literally now. Thank you so much for letting me re-live that little time-piece of time in my life. They were the worst of times, they were the best of times.
      Again, thank you my friend.🙏

    I really would love to start investing in some B&O gear because I’ve fell in love with their beautiful design and I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. However upon researching their products, be it modern or vintage, I’m afraid to say they confuse the absolute hell out of me. What I need is a good series explaining their weird proprietary connections, and how to use them, and I think I’ve finally found it.

    Dear Steve ... In the late 80s I became the owner of a B&0 7000 installation (TV Beovision MX 7000, 2 Beo Penta towers, Tuner, CD) ... a few years later it was adapted to a Beo Vision 7/45 TV with DVD BlueRay + Beolab 7-1 + 2 Beolabs 6000 and Beo4 ... Now (20 yaers later) I got a problem with the TV's HDMI-ports ... If I start the TV, I get sound, but no video ... So, eacht time, I have to take the HDM cables out and back in (seral times) to start sound+video ... My local dealer gives me one solution: a new OLED TV (with a new intelligent sound bar) ... 14.000€ !!! ... If I buy the same Oled TV in a non-B&O shop, it costs me 2.300€ ... So, sorry for my beloved B&O, but I am searching for a new sollution, in whitch I can still use my 5 B&O boxes (2 Penta, 2 Beolab 6000 and 1 Beolab 7-1) in a surround sollution with a LG or Loewe OLED Smart TV ... Doe you have any suggestions ? I saw for instance a sollution of a German company called ALMANDO (Soundcenter Surround, etc. ...).

    Hi Steve. I've got four Beolab 6000 which I want to connect to my LG TV. All of them are far apart of each other. I was wondering if it is possible to connect the Speaker #1 & #2 (which are closest to the TV) with the cable with Phono-jack (headphone connection) which you show at 4:49 directly to the TV, and then to connect Speaker #3 to Speaker #2 with a powerlink cable, and finally Speaker #4 to Speaker #3 with a powerling cable ( the chain-type of connection). Would this work? Can a speaker which is connected with a headphone connection to an audio source be at the same time connected to another speaker with a powerlink? Thanks

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I can help! Basically, you have three options if you wish to use the speakers with a non-B&O TV:-
      1) Connect two Beolab speakers to the headphone socket of the TV for stereo sound, with volume control from the TV remote, or
      2) Connect the TV and all of the Beolab speakers to a Beosound music system, B&O Connection Hub or Core (if you have one) for stereo sound through all speakers, with volume control from the B&O remote, or
      3) Add an external AV receiver with pre-out sockets (expect to pay from around £500 GBP in the UK) to allow all of the speakers to be connected for full surround sound with control from the receiver remote control.
      I can (of course!) provide cables for any of the above options. If you can please let me know your preferred option, I will be pleased to advise on the cabling required.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I can help! The only way to connect the speaker directly to your TV is if the TV has a headphone socket fitted, as this is the only socket where the volume of the sound can be controlled. Your Beolab 7 speaker needs a special powered cable to generate the trigger signals to activate it:-
      soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/102-438-minijack-to-beolab-2-7-10-2500-powered-trigger-kit.html#/2-length-1m
      If your TV doesn't have a headphone socket fitted, please let me know, as additional hardware may be needed. In this configuration, the TV will control the speaker volume, but the speaker will remain on all the time that the trigger cable is connected and powered on.

      @@nexnexusnex Thanks for your reply. If your TV doesn't has a headphone socket fitted, then a direct cable connection to the speakers is not possible. However, you can still connect the TV optical output to the speakers by one of the options below:-

Set the subwoofer volume to approx. 50-75% and then adjust it as required to match the level of your other speakers. The subwoofer volume can now be controlled automatically from the B&O remote along with the other speakers.

    Yes I think you missed something. How to add speakers in line to eachother. Like, I have a BEO sound 9000 with BeoLab 8000’s. I’m trying to figure out how to add BeoLab 6000’s and a subwoofer and I have no idea what to do.

    My tv doesn’t have an earphone socket ..

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unless your TV has a headphone socket fitted, a direct cable connection to the speakers is not possible. However, you can still connect the TV optical output to the speakers by one of the options below:-
      1) Buy a B&O Core from your local B&O store (approx. £600 GBP) for remote control of the speakers via the B&O app, or
      2) Buy a B&O Connection Hub from your local B&O store (approx. £149 GBP) for remote control of the speakers via the TV remote, or
      3) Buy a Bluesound Node for stereo sound, with control of the speakers via the Bluesound app, or
      4) Add an AV receiver for full surround sound, with volume control from the receiver remote.
      Please note that I don't sell any of the devices mentioned above, only the cables!

    You forgot to tell about HDMI ARC which you can control volume through the tv-remote of the manufacture itself. You can buy a HDMI ARC to rca that supports volumecontrol.

      Thanks, I intentionally left this out as the results can be very variable. I have seen a lot of problems with volume control using this method, with speakers unexpectedly resetting to maximum volume without warning. In theory, HDMI ARC is a viable option, but in practice the results are not consistent enough for me to be able to recommend this.

    stereo or mini jack from a TV is super bad! Use HDMI ARC or Optical.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      These speakers don't accept a digital signal, so extra equipment is needed to convert optical or HDMI ARC signals. Yes, they are better, but the connection is more complex and costly. I can help with connections for either option at soundsheavenly.com
