honest to god i'm rewatching this and this looks like a dramatically and i mean dramatically different product from what Halo Infinite actually is... honestly it feels like either something terrible happened to the game before it came out (did microsoft switch to full gear on a live service multiplayer product?) or perhaps 343 got too scared of alienating the new audiences from halo 4 and 5 that they canned all of these brilliant concepts seen in this trailer. i don't even think there was a desert section of the halo infinite campaign and definitely no underwater section... not that a halo required an underwater section to be halo, but it just feels like so much in infinite was forgotten about. i mean, i kind of remember hearing about the troubles they had in late development with microsoft execs but... ugh... it could've been such a good game

It was on their "slipspace engine" that they eventually decided was too costly and too difficult to code with, so they went back to havok for infinite propper. that's why theirs leftover code for guns from h5
@@chickenman9184 From what I've heard, they still use the "slipspace" engine. It's just a modified/upgraded version of the Halo 5 engine, designed primarily for them to exceed 60fps. I had a feeling it would be that way because developers VERY RARELY change engines for an established franchise. The cost and difficulty of development go up, and they run the risk of ruining the familiar feel a game engine gives to the fans of their franchise.

But by far I think there will be Elites, Ruuhtian Jackals ( Bungie Jackal ) and Grunts and obviously Hunters. But I definitley hope that other Covenant spieces will come back, such as the Brutes, the Skirmishers, the Engineers and the Drones. Hell even the Prophets !

20 million. Nearly 2 years ago 20 million people played Halo infinite. Imagine what 20 million people could have done with forge, functioning theater, and a customs browser that wasn't shite. Imagine the clips that would have come from Halo's greatest campaign yet. And finally, imagine the wars waged, scores settled, and bonds forged with pre and postgame lobbies. That Halo infinite would have kept millions playing for a decade. It would have been truly infinite. Now? No. That Halo is only found in our bitter hearts. Forever to haunt our dreams and cast a long shadow upon this once great franchise.
Halo has gone so far in these years. One minute I'm sitting in my room on the original Xbox playing halo combat evolved. Then the next I'm watching this trailer looking back at all the memories. Halo will always be my favorite videogame no matter what happens. Thanks for the likes I love you guys

The only reason I even watched Halo 5's campaign was for the Arbiter and Buck, and even then he ain't the same without the rest of his ODST squad. It's the only Halo game I will never get. Halo Wars 2 was great though, so I have a good amount of hope that Infinite will be good too.

Despite Halo Infinite’s campaign not having most of the things this video showed, I still enjoyed it for what it was. Hopefully in the future when they expand the campaign with DLCs we’ll explore these biomes and see these animals.
This video didnt age well. Apparently they had to cut so much of this due to time restraints and in-house fighting over the direction the game should take. We were promised a "breath of the wild" style of open world gameplay but instead we got 1 biome and the halo ring is not fully explorable right from the start

looking back at it now, there is no large wildlife (such as deer) and the biggest body of water is only a lake that is like 3 feet deep. However, I am very pleased on how it ultimately turned out in terms of gameplay and story.
Yeah a lot can change in 3 years of development. Also iirc this was intended to showcase the new engine AND announce the game. I would bet we’ll be seeing a lot more of this down the road in DLC - especially since this game is allegedly supposed to have a 10-year lifespan

It does look more like Halo 3/2 Mjolnir than Halo 4/5 but the textures seem to be fuesd together so that it makes sense story wise. I assume we are going back to the Halo ring that Cortana stole or it is a soft reboot of some kind.
I enjoyed the campaign but it was just so much smaller and less mysterious than this trailer, there was no weather cycle or varied biomes, the passage of time only affected whether the world was colored a pale lavender or a pale yellow, you could see one FOB from another, the entire game feels like it takes place just one of the wide angle views of this trailer, makes me sad that nothing from this trailer can be introduced in a DLC or anything like that because it would greatly overshadow the base game. This trailer created such grand expectations for the world of zeta halo and they cant even blame covid for them missing the mark because the 2020 gameplay reveal was released about halfway through 2020, and by then it wouldve been months since they had even done all the level design and writing for it. After re watching this trailer, it just seems like they had good ideas and then internal incompetence or arguments, even pre covid, took up all their time and they had to compress everything down into these mere hundred acres of spruce and rocks and steel hexagons. And it's not like that time went into the story either, they introduced a new species that became kind of a focal point out of nowhere then killed them off and it left me underwhelmed and disappointed. I could've forgiven that if the world resembled anything shown in this trailer Edit: Honestly little things like the colors at night being actually well contrasted or a weather system wouldve added SO much. Maybe just some rain here and there and thunder, or snow on one of the islands that came and went overlaying white on some of the grass and leaf textures, maybe some fog, maybe you have overcast days, these things shouldn't be hard to add and should absolutely be added in down the line if they choose to make campaign DLC. As competitive of a game rust is, it also has some of the most beautiful weather and colors. Having a good landscape is one thing, and halo infinite has that down already, even if it's not what's shown in this trailer, but you actually need weather and lighting to back it up

It was on their "slipspace engine" that they eventually decided was too costly and too difficult to code with, so they went back to havok for infinite propper. that's why theirs leftover code for guns from h5
@@chickenman9184 From what I've heard, they still use the "slipspace" engine. It's just a modified/upgraded version of the Halo 5 engine, designed primarily for them to exceed 60fps. I had a feeling it would be that way because developers VERY RARELY change engines for an established franchise. The cost and difficulty of development go up, and they run the risk of ruining the familiar feel a game engine gives to the fans of their franchise.

The only reason I even watched Halo 5's campaign was for the Arbiter and Buck, and even then he ain't the same without the rest of his ODST squad. It's the only Halo game I will never get.

Despite Halo Infinite’s campaign not having most of the things this video showed, I still enjoyed it for what it was. Hopefully in the future when they expand the campaign with DLCs we’ll explore these biomes and see these animals.

This video didnt age well. Apparently they had to cut so much of this due to time restraints and in-house fighting over the direction the game should take. We were promised a "breath of the wild" style of open world gameplay but instead we got 1 biome and the halo ring is not fully explorable right from the start

It does look more like Halo 3/2 Mjolnir than Halo 4/5 but the textures seem to be fuesd together so that it makes sense story wise. I assume we are going back to the Halo ring that Cortana stole or it is a soft reboot of some kind.
I enjoyed the campaign but it was just so much smaller and less mysterious than this trailer, there was no weather cycle or varied biomes, the passage of time only affected whether the world was colored a pale lavender or a pale yellow, you could see one FOB from another, the entire game feels like it takes place just one of the wide angle views of this trailer, makes me sad that nothing from this trailer can be introduced in a DLC or anything like that because it would greatly overshadow the base game. This trailer created such grand expectations for the world of zeta halo and they cant even blame covid for them missing the mark because the 2020 gameplay reveal was released about halfway through 2020, and by then it wouldve been months since they had even done all the level design and writing for it. After re watching this trailer, it just seems like they had good ideas and then internal incompetence or arguments, even pre covid, took up all their time and they had to compress everything down into these mere hundred acres of spruce and rocks and steel hexagons. And it's not like that time went into the story either, they introduced a new species that became kind of a focal point out of nowhere then killed them off and it left me underwhelmed and disappointed. I could've forgiven that if the world resembled anything shown in this trailer
Edit: Honestly little things like the colors at night being actually well contrasted or a weather system wouldve added SO much. Maybe just some rain here and there and thunder, or snow on one of the islands that came and went overlaying white on some of the grass and leaf textures, maybe some fog, maybe you have overcast days, these things shouldn't be hard to add and should absolutely be added in down the line if they choose to make campaign DLC. As competitive of a game rust is, it also has some of the most beautiful weather and colors. Having a good landscape is one thing, and halo infinite has that down already, even if it's not what's shown in this trailer, but you actually need weather and lighting to back it up
