The reach campaign was badass, with the most emotional ending out of all of them, and the multiplayer and forge were batshit crazy, at least w/ the TU update. Running around w/ the energy sword in reach or playing Invasion on Spire are just timeless experiences man.

So, this begs the question. In the actual campaign, when you save marines, can the pilot take them away and gather you a small army over time? Cause it would be awesome to have a couple hundred saved marines get called in for the final battle or something.
Yeah but remember how diligently we all tried to keep our marines alive during halo 2-3? I would legit reload checkpoints if I lost too many. We’d collect hundreds of them and never deploy them for fear they might get killed.
@@johnermactavish1162That's true. I mean, I would be equally happy to just be able to go visit all of my saved marines at the base or hideout. I mean, Reach gave names to the marines that joined you in fights. It would be sick to be able to see that the marine you saved a few days earlier was recovering and practicing marksmanship back at the base.
I don't think Infinite will be that in depth. But it would blow me away if it was.

You can use resources or equipment gained from missions to either bring better weapons to your next fight or to bolster your bases defense. Which gets attacked randomly whether you’re there or not. Shit I’d spend most of the game making an armageddon ziggurat with so many tanks turrets and CAPs that even the iron fists would tell Dorn “nah fam we ain’t breaching that shit”.

I've returned after beating the campaign. I can confirm it lived up to the hype. Best campaign since Halo 3. Also, if you are big Halo lore fan I insist you watch the legendary ending.

@@Section71 I stopped playing far cry after 3 so maybe this changed, but as I recall you weren't actually required to liberate any of the outposts, you could just only do main story missions if you wanted to. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same with this.

This was and will always be a dream come true for me. When I won the game on Legendary without any tricks, straight up.. I was in tears. This game is an absolute masterpiece. Thank you to anyone who had a hand in it's creation 🎮🔥💯

When i was a kid id talk to my friends after playing Halo CE about "imagine playing a huge open world halo , exploring taking out crazy structures ext" this is the game me and my friends wished for all those years ago. Looks so cool, and fresh to boot. Love the detail of marines captured, the scale of being able to play how you want. Cortana looking like she did back in CE again, all looks fantastic.
@Rikki i just dont want side quests to overshadow the main story. But thats just my only downside too it. Ive always wanted a open world halo since 3.. cus 3 is what my friend got me to play. Never got too play 2 or ce in their prime prime. But i did play them when i did playthrough 3 on legendary that was hell then lmao. But thats how i feel about it. I do love the open world side. Just nervous about how itll play out though. Im sure itll be amazing tho since ive always loved the campaigns.

Master chief and Cortana were never the point of halo, they ruined this video in the first sentence. Since the beginning, the story has always been about defeating the Covenant and furthermore the Flood. Now they have nothing as an enemy because the Master Chief lit the ring and wiped them out. Oh wait, now that 343 owns the rights, with new writers Im assuming, actually, theres a bigger threat the f o r e r u n n e r s yeahhhhh there we go now we got a new enemy. I never thought a skill tree and upgrades would work in a Halo game, but now that I’ve seen it presented with all these great things I’m convinced it will.
I love that you guys brought back the old music and old vehicles and animations mixed with so much new cool stuff this looks so worth the delay I’m so hyped I just really hope to hear the peace of music from silent cartographer when exiting the building I liked that piece more than the Stevie vai stuff personally.

The Weapon is wholesome, too pure and innocent for this world, and must be protected at all costs.
My favourite part of the campaign footage is how the characters actually talk like people again instead of being weird emotionless robots like in Spartan Ops and Halo 5. Good stuff
They talked a lot in halo 4 and 5, just in different languages. The IWHBYD skull actually makes them talk more, especially the grunts.

@@jackcolson4745 I was talking about the human characters having really stiff and emotionless lines in Spartan Ops and Halo 5, not the Covenant lol. The Covenant actually speak a ton of English in Halo 5 including the Jackals for the first time

Yeah I forgot to separate halo 4 and 5 in that. I knew halo 5 had English speaking covenant and prometheans.
However, after just recently playing Spartan Ops, I can say that even without the IWHBYD skull, the h4 Marines are far from lifeless. In fact they are pretty animated, almost as much as halo 3's. So I have no idea where you're pulling that conclusion from.

I can't understand how some people are complaining about the open-world aspects of it. I've never been so excited to play a Halo game as I am to play Halo Infinite. Granted, I'm not an old-school Halo fan. But 343 is doing things here that I've begged OTHER franchises to do, which is actually be ambitious and do something different.
As a long-time Call of Duty fan, for example, it's infuriating to watch Call of Duty do the exact same thing that it's been doing for over a decade, year after year after year. Every game they just do the same thing, simply adding a few new modes and a couple new or tweaked mechanics. It's like they have no more passion or drive to actually do new things, and take risks, and be ambitious in their vision of what games can be.
And now I see 343 doing things that most Halo fans have probably only ever dreamed of, taking risks, and really trying to push the franchise forward, and there's people complaining. Complaining that it's too different! That all they want from the future of Halo is a couple of new guns, enemies, and levels. That's it. Stuff that could easily just be DLC. I don't get it. I don't get how there's people who want Halo, or any franchise for that matter, to just do the same thing forever, and never grow or expand in meaningful ways. I just can't understand it.
I think "expanding in meaningful ways" is the answer. People are afraid of repeating past mistakes with direction and art style. I agree with you, but I also see why you wouldn't get the community's concerns regarding the openness of the campaign or drastic change for that matter.
Halo is an arcadey, linear, shooter. It has been since it's inception. Every sequel has innovated and felt fresh just fine without having to change the genre completely and add in RPG mechanics.
Finally. The wait for campaign info has been brutal.

Man after seeing all of this open world experience. I wish 343 never killed off the Storm, we could have see a faction war going on zeta halo. Wreckage of vehicle's and corpses from both factions, taking over outpost and bases from the Storm and the banished. or even see some in-game battle between the two factions. I'm still excited for the finished product.
I hope the Arbiter makes an epic return. My favorite character in all of Halo. And if he shows up with the elite bro Shipmaster, He’ll make it “an even fight”!
After seeing that new Elite Miniboss, perhaps the Arbiter will duel him on Chief's behalf

I've been playing these games as long as I can remember halo as a hole is and always be my favorite video game
The more open world gameplay definitely lends itself to Master Chief no longer having the original Cortana. He isn't as guided to the best angle of attack on every situation, so presenting the player with more decisions makes a lot of sense.
Looks like this is all going to work together really nicely, undoubtedly gonna be a ton of fun.

Yeah looks promising, but I am worried about the kinda openworld enemy outposts though, they famously can make gameplay pretty dull and repettative even if they are optional, though i'm mainly worried about the lack of linears levels being shown off which is what good story driven FPS like Halo are famous/loved for, obviously doesn't mean there's not loads of them in the game somewhere
