Watching this in 2024 and it still gives me chills. Gaming will never peak as hard as the Xbox 360 years.
Infinite gave me so much hope, I grinded it to onyx, and nothing new ever came. I’ve waited for campaign dlc, nothing ever came. The wildlife and side quests in the open world was absolutely dead, felt so boring. Whole game just disappointed the absolute crap outta me

@@bevstanx-8840well there is no denying those are great games...Withcher 3 and RDR2 are actually easily the best games from past 10 years along with Baldur's Gate 3 and last year was the best year in gaming since 2010 imho.
But overall I would say we saw the peak in gaming industry back then because for me the best years in gaming overall are still 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010

I mean heck this trailer alone got me more hyped than any other game trailer has managed to do and overall the feeling and excitment there was during 7th console generation. It just aint there anymore even if we still do get great games but its been long while since Ive felt any hype or genuine excitment for any game

Nah. Halo 1 was a masterpiece. Halo 2 continued the legacy because it was the first Halo that was on LIVE, and it started matchmaking. This trailer was just incredible because it was working with the hype of H1 and H2, little did we know that H3 would be complete crap.

I remember aching from the finger tips to come straight home from school and play this online. Now it’s nothing but a memory. Sure we still have this on the MCC. But the amount of excitement I had from the 360 experience will never compare. Godspeed Halo 3... Godspeed.
I wish they would offer a mic versus no-mic multiplayer searching feature.
I've got almost all my maps but it's a bit hard to meet people who talk these days...
Back on the 360, everyone got a microphone with the console and so... pretty much everyone talked.
I think that's now the biggest difference between h3 on 360 vs MCC.
(most all of my old maps are in my file share now, so I've got them on the MCC at least*)

JPgamerTV it was good, but the english dub/mouth sync was pretty bad. Gameplay was fairly good though, as well as the story. But being the fact that it was a 360 game only (should’ve been PC, playstation, and xbox, not just xbox) long time fans of the Ace Combat series were somewhat disappointed. Now with Ace 6 being my first Ace Combat game, I do agree, it was good, but the people in charge of the game should’ve made it more available to players instead of keeping it only on 360

Hard Light Carpenter I think Bungie and 343 have different ways of making games and also the story arc for the 1st three was Bungie. Now 343 will have Halo 4, 5 and 6. They'll be different and made for the new generation of players. Which is good. They made Halo 4 too much like COD and they listened now Halo 5 will be like Halo.

@@habijjj I enjoy both doom and Halo but I think doom is more of a fun game because you are just one guy just mowing through armies and there isn't really too much story to it, yes I know if you go into the war there is a LOT for doom, but in the game itself it doesn't give you all that much. Halo is more of a story based game than a gameplay based game, which is why I don't think you can compare them because they're so different. Like I said they're both amazing games though
This trailer hits me like no other. Not because of the graphics, the gameplay, the story, or even the godly music. It's because it represents a time where all gamers were United and held collective massive hype for something. The levels of hype for this game have yet to be matched and it didn't dissapoint and still hasn't.
It honestly feels like every month that goes by there is a greater and greater divide in the community between something I don't know what necessarily but it just seems like gaming has fallen from its Grace
you only say truth here. i dont remember the last time a game was so hyped by the gaming community as a whole, and the game itself delivered.
since this games release, the gaming community is not such a community anymore (if it really ever was one) as it has become so big and emcompassing that you cant really identify as a gamer and it mean common ground.
also since this halo 3, no game that has had the equivalent hype and attention has lived up to expectations and most of the time have been disappointments.
Halo 4 was great too come on dude. Lol and 6 so far from the online is awesome
They hype for this was only a small ripple compared to the hype for Halo 2. That was on another level entirely.

But I'd definitely say 3 was even more hyped overall. Mainly thanks to 2's cliffhanger, the whole "finish the fight" slogan and an insane advertising campaign which hasn't been matched before or since

10 years.. its been 10 years since this trailer came out... wow how my life has changed since then.... when this game came out, i would have lan parties in my parents basement; only thing i had to stress about was if i could order enough mt dew and pizza for everyone with the few dollars i had. it was the best time of my life and i didn't even know it. now i have to worry about my house payment, my pregnant wife, and all my bills.

This trailer is just perfect. Hundreds of banshees and phantoms in air, covenant carriers and super carrier and all against it is just one Spartan. It really shows how much humanity is outnumbered but how they continue to fight until they finish the fight.
I interpreted this as everyone trying to stop the halo relay including the flood.
But at this point they are on the same side.
The flood kinda evened the odds despite them only joining them to stop halo

Eh, Destiny has some pretty cool stuff in it. I mean, a game that manages to mix MMO aspects, Diablo loot whoring, and Halo style FPS gameplay is pretty sweet in my book. The problem is the lack of content and the attempt (probably by Activision) to bleed the user dry for more content.

All my best memories are from playing Halo 3:
I remember getting Halo 3 back in 2007 when I was only 8 years old. I loved Halo 3 even before I got my xbox live gold profile in 2008. I used to bring friends home and we played all day. Halo 3 was different from every other game and I got a special feeling from playing it. I play Halo 3 today and I wish I could relieve the lovely memories but I cant. Halo 3 custom games was the best thing ever existed. I remember playing the awesome campaign and collecting all the skulls to unlock new multiplayer armour. I bet no one will ever feel what I feel and what I felt. I wish that time could last forever.
I do.. I miss those days.. Playing , customizing the maps the way you want it with friends.. I wish I can go back in time.. Halo 2 & Halo 3 were the two main Halos that I fell deeply in love with

Fifteen years. It's been fifteen years since I first saw this trailer and I'm now very close to being 36 years old myself.
And STILL this trailer strikes me each and every time. It was so well written and composed, perfectly made to invoke the exact emotions they wanted from us-- excitement, hope, trepidation.

What I love is that if you go through the comments you'll find people of all different era's of time talking about their experiences with Halo. This game truly inspired and created an amazing experience for so many of us.
this is still legendary, so is the breaking benjamin song. The "remasters" ruined the OG music and removed benjamin's song in halo 2 as well, 343 is a disgrace

@@Squashylemon halo 4 and 5 literally just isn't halo, Bungie said the story was over, in all liklihood chief probably would've died at the end of 3 if Microsoft didn't strongarm them but even if it ended w/ Chief in space floating it would've been fine.
Same shit with Starwars, the only "real" starwars is 1-6, apparently disney said the extended universe books (i never read them) are not canon, even though they were canon when Lucas owned the franchise.

The things that move you are what truly matter. I’ve come back to this trailer at extremely difficult times in my life simply because the chief is the living embodiment of perseverance. I also see him as a reflection of silence and all of the power that brings to you irl. There are many ways in which this game inspires; sometimes its community and sometimes its just a message to keep trying no matter what. Sometimes that will make you cry.
Ride on. I visit Destiny 1 trailers alot when I’m feeling down idk why but I just do. It’s comforting to see you do something similar. Life isn’t as simple as it was during these times, but we gotta keep pushing. Don’t stop, cause I’m right here with you.

Battlefront? Meh. But remember when The Last Of Us Part II was announced? A simple view of the Fireflies insignia sprayed over a stop sign drove people crazy. Thankfully, there are a few games that still has that kind of impact these days. The thing is though that this trailer alone is a masterpiece, the music and the epicness of it is something that I have never seen in a video game trailer before.

Right on. I remember this trailer like it was yesterday.
This still holds up better than some of the games today
2007. What a time to be alive. Fans united together for something that at the time, we didn’t know would be truly historic. H3 was and still is the pinnacle of gaming. Anyone who was playing the beta a month before launch, stood in line at midnight, a member of HBO, cheers to you. I don’t think we will ever have an experience like that ever again.
Just the sight of Master Chief walking out fills my heart with hope.... I can only imagine the courage he inspired in the marines who fought alongside him
I had to wait while this downloaded on a 56K dial-up connection in order to watch this in 2006. Life was so simple back then, and I wish I never grew up...

I remember seeing this back in 2007 when I was a little kid, my xbox had preinstalled the trailers of Halo, seeing for the first time this trailer in particular... for some reason, is one of the best moments of my life playing videogames.

I still play it, seems fine to me on my 50" TV Making slightly higher graphics doesn't justify the millions it would cost to "remaster". The Remastering of Final Fantasy 7 is justified because it really needs it. Halo 3 is still fresh in my mind.

The hype sureounding this game was massive and unprecedented. The game itself lived up to that hype.
Halo 3, the whole Bungie Halo series, was peak gaming.
For real, nothing else has come close. To the hype for Halo 3. Massive Popular Cultural Moment even outside of Gaming itself really everyone who had a a Kid or relative who played Halo knew there was this huge game coming out. Knew how important it was. And it really was the last game in the series - todays master chief is not the master chief we grew up with. They tried to give his chrachter depth with these emotive storylines but Master Chief doesn't need depth he's the Chad protector of Earth that has the most badass voice in the Universe. That's all we ever needed to know.
@@lukemurphy6244 exactly. Halo 3 is where the story ended as far as im concerned. The series peaked with Halo 3. Reach was good but definitely inferior to the trilogy it followed.

26 yo. I just cried watching this. One year after this game came out my dad passed away. At 14 I would listen to this soundtrack to keep me going in life and to stay motivated to live well. It has become my theme to persevere despite not knowing what is next. I almost forgot where I've come from and this was a little reminder.
I would do anything to go back and live all of this again. Truly a masterpiece and pinnacle in time.

I love how halo fans can't remember mos of Halo 5's soundtrack yet we get overflown with memories after hearing a single piano note.
Nostalgia for me. I remember having an Xbox360 when I was ten and watching this thinking man, this game looks amazing. Here I am now 18 years of age and halo 3 is still the best halo. Change my mind

15 Years of Excellence!
Halo Combat Evolved, the young, innocent child. Halo 2, that crazy rebellious teenager trying crazy new things, what with that dual-wielding, vehicle hijacking, xbox live, playing as an elite. Not to mention that incredible rockin' soundtrack. And Halo 3, the more mature adult. Though still quite young and plenty of room to grow. Halo 3 took pretty much everything that was great about Halo and perfected it. Halo 3 was ready to take on the world, and did. However, you could say that Halo 4 started doing drugs. And with the MCC, became addicted to them. But with Halo 5: Guardian's trip to rehab, I am optimistic that Halo is on its way to a FULL recovery.

+Raymond Alcantara Halo 5 removed split screen, made anything more than 50 feet away from you move at 10 FPS, told an absurd story and didn't develop any of the newly added characters, made Cortana the villain while still failing to delve into the Forerunners as a reasonable enemy, introduced micro transactions to Halo, and basically shit all over what made Halo great in the first place.
Halo 5 died of a severe drug overdose.

One of the greatest announcement trailers of our lifetimes. Seeing Chief walk through that dust and the crescendo of the music literally makes my knees weak and every hair on my body stand straight up. I'll never forget how many times I watched this trailer before that September. Good ol halo man. Long live Chief.
