(Bungie had 3 variants of the Assault Rifle in their halo games) You're free to disagree, of course, but I know it would feel out of place for the UNSC not to incorporate alien tech into their arsenal, seeing how woefully unprepared they were for the Covenant. It makes sense, and if you explore the lore, each Spartan armor variant has it's purpose, and Bungie started that with the multiplayer allowing customization. It does not destroy the story, so your statement kinda feels like an overreaction, but it's your opinion, so we'll agree to disagree.
They finally got the style perfect. More militaristic than 4 & 5, and Atriox looks badass. Hopefully They keep this style for 6, I look forward to a new brute/elite based enemy army.
That's because they were in cryo sleep after Halo Wars 1. Halo Wars 1 had the style of Halo 3 so it makes sense to keep the old style. I don't think they will keep the style in Halo 6 sadly.

This is quite possibly the best Halo trailer in a long, long time. It has the feeling that made us all fall in love with Halo originally; an uphill and desperate battle against an insurmountable and seemingly invincible enemy. And by that, I mean it's not Halo 4 or 5; which in and of itself is an amazing quality.
I had trouble enjoying halo 4, and have yet to but 5, but I get what you're saying . It has the feeling of desperation behind it, where the fight feels like it is for our very lives. In my opinion halo wars was a greatly under appreciated game, and showed just how much actually went into the war behind the scenes. They didnt fight planet by planet, the covenant at the time were doing a blitzkrieg, and this scene captures that all in one.
I'm happy in that they're using halo 3 armor instead of halo 4s and 5s armor which was worse. The art style at least for the cutscenes is dark. Actual in game art style is happy fun time bright colors and the units look like blobs of potato given form and armor. Other then that halo wars 2 looks good.
This Trailer perfectly represents all the UNSC's Branches. Marine - The First ones in the last ones out ODST - Helljumped straight into action Spartans - One goal in mind, the preservation of humanity even if they have to smash some Brutes skull to do it.
Best Halo trailer in a LONG time. Gave me chills the whole way through. I love how they took the strategy feel and put it straight into the trailer with you as cutter or Atroix and how the battle is happening all around you. It's amazing.

Joel Jimmy but it does make sense.... The prophets hand was failing after the defeat of the didact and the unsc and sos pushed them back. With this they found the location of mdama and took him out. They also needed a way to bring Halsey back. What could you have done with his character?
Though you have good points, 'Mdama could have been a fantastic minor villain for the series. He had a very interesting back story in the books and many hardcore Sangheili and even just big readers of the books can attest to this. Just a shame for him to go out to such an undeveloped and uninteresting character.
At 1:49 on the left there’s a freaking Marine holding one Elites hand keeping him from using his sword and then using his other hand to use his shotgun and blast another Elite in the face, two years and I just saw it. Johnson would be proud.
this trailer is awesome. it shows that years and years of fighting the aliens isn't a huge surprise . both sides are used to the other and yet each still fight on. humans vs covenant. at its best.

I love the way they try to keep the style of the first Halo Wars, every scene reminds me of it. The appearance of the Marines is the same, Mjolnir looks the same. Love it!
See? 343i's redesigns aren't _just_ redesigns, they keep them where canon allows them. Because the Spirit of Fire has been isolated, they still have 2531 equipment and vehicles, and Spartan-IIs!

Probably not, this game isn't made by 343i it's being made by Creative assembly, this is probably just a one time thing and when 343 releases halo 6 it will be back to the Halo 4 and 5 style.
Trailers like this are why Halo would make a great movie. It just needs a director and writer willing to stick to the material instead of trying to do their own thing. Halo doesn't need it.

The Halo Shows that came out were good but they were also boring because what the story was about and if they did some big story about a Halo Wars type game it would be awesome or something like the Mastercheif and Reach games but instead they do ones about boot camp or chasing pirates to blown up rings.

I dont know if you know this but in the first Halo Wars, scorpions upgraded to just the canister shell were much more powerful than Grizzly tanks. However, the grizzly looks way cooler imo.
Bakes 13 correction: scorpions upgraded to power turret dish out more damage than grizzlies. However grizzlies take more damage. If you put1 scorpion vs 1 grizzly ,the scorpion will win. I'm not sure why the devs coded it this way, but I think it was a mistake.
I remember back in the old Halo Wars saving up resources and building a large army of grizzlie tanks and wolverines only to get jumped at my own base and lose most of them...

I think Halo 4 and 5 feel the most like Halo (in comparison to Reach and ODST), I'm not saying those are bad games, I'm saying that they had a different feel to them, but I loved them nonetheless.

All the art style is very weird with the pointless detail to the railing on all vehicles that don't need them compared to other halos that had a clean look. The only art style change I like from halo 4-5 is the forerunner art because it sticks out and is somewhat simple. Other than that, halo 1-odst (and halo wars 2) are better at art having art style. Side note: the recent art style is inconsistent.
Yes x 1000. Everything from the Elites, Spartans, Marines, and the weapons like the classic Battle Rifle look amazing here. They just need to do this in Halo 6.
As time goes on the technology changes, which is why everything looks so different. That being said the Elites are still flatfaced like they were in H2A.
***** I think part of that stems from the art directors from Halo 3 to Reach, and then from Reach to Halo 4. As the leap from Halo Reach to Halo 4 was mainly because of a shift in developers. Also, I think the two Star Wars trilogies all around look pretty different.
I can't believe how seamlessly they blended the old gorgeous art style with the new one.. All as it should be, and exactly how halo was made to look! The trailer is nothing short of perfect!

Seth Bergman Covenant versions are called Drop Pods. UNSC calls them SOEIV (single occupant exoatmospheric insertion vehicle) or HEV (human entry vehicle).

Eh, Reach had too many stupid and avoidable deaths to have that feeling (aside from a few missions.) 1, 2, 3, and ODST were what I was referring to.

At 1:49 on the left there’s a freaking Marine holding one Elites hand keeping him from using his sword and then using his other hand to use his shotgun and blast another Elite in the face, two years and I just saw it. Johnson would be proud.

this trailer is awesome. it shows that years and years of fighting the aliens isn't a huge surprise . both sides are used to the other and yet each still fight on. humans vs covenant. at its best.
it also shows that both sides respect each other because both sides have had major victories and they fight as equals.

Probably not, this game isn't made by 343i it's being made by Creative assembly, this is probably just a one time thing and when 343 releases halo 6 it will be back to the Halo 4 and 5 style.
Trailers like this are why Halo would make a great movie. It just needs a director and writer willing to stick to the material instead of trying to do their own thing.

The Halo Shows that came out were good but they were also boring because what the story was about and if they did some big story about a Halo Wars type game it would be awesome or something like the Mastercheif and Reach games but instead they do ones about boot camp or chasing pirates to blown up rings.

Change the art style (The Classic one is in this video}.Further a cliche plot about AI taking over the world. Change MC into a character who is more concerned about his blue waifu than protecting the world along with the UNSC....Need I go on? Making it more "realistic" influenced the gameplay in a way to where it went from a pseudo-arena shooter to a watered down destiny
***** Its realism steven halo has always tried to make everything look realistic its just the change of scenery from a battlefield to a different landscape. Really? I mean chief always has been a very serious character but from all the time he has spent with cortana it makes sense he would care about her if you spent literally close to 8 years with someone constantly with them around you would care about them too chief still has emotion you know. What do you mean he doesn't care about protecting the world he goes off order in halo 5 because he wants to try to talk cortana into some sense and eventually he realises she is already lost and helps locke. Seriously they are super soliders not little plastic army men they simply made the combat and everything more fast paced. Its not watered down destiny really people just because it is fast paced doesn't mean its a watered down version of another game maybe it did change the gameplay some. So what? honestly i find halo more intresting and fun to play because of it you dont have to walk all over gunning down covenant for 10 hours to find a button that opens a door.

I dont know if you know this but in the first Halo Wars, scorpions upgraded to just the canister shell were much more powerful than Grizzly tanks. However, the grizzly looks way cooler imo.

Bakes 13 correction: scorpions upgraded to power turret dish out more damage than grizzlies. However grizzlies take more damage. If you put1 scorpion vs 1 grizzly ,the scorpion will win. I'm not sure why the devs coded it this way, but I think it was a mistake.
I remember back in the old Halo Wars saving up resources and building a large army of grizzlie tanks and wolverines only to get jumped at my own base and lose most of them...

Yeah but not all brutes or even all elites belong to the same faction, they have brains and have human level intelligence so its only logical some rebel, some stay for the religion, and some stay out of fear.
It's just something epic seeing two generals of their own species coming towards each other knowing why they are fighting this war, but probably also realising how much it will cost them

I think Halo 4 and 5 feel the most like Halo (in comparison to Reach and ODST), I'm not saying those are bad games, I'm saying that they had a different feel to them, but I loved them nonetheless.

All the art style is very weird with the pointless detail to the railing on all vehicles that don't need them compared to other halos that had a clean look. The only art style change I like from halo 4-5 is the forerunner art because it sticks out and is somewhat simple. Other than that, halo 1-odst (and halo wars 2) are better at art having art style.
Side note: the recent art style is inconsistent.

Yes x 1000. Everything from the Elites, Spartans, Marines, and the weapons like the classic Battle Rifle look amazing here. They just need to do this in Halo 6.
As time goes on the technology changes, which is why everything looks so different.
That being said the Elites are still flatfaced like they were in H2A.
They didnt have to make such a big leap though. look at every star wars film. there is a consistent art. play halo 1 & then 5, completely different.

***** I think part of that stems from the art directors from Halo 3 to Reach, and then from Reach to Halo 4. As the leap from Halo Reach to Halo 4 was mainly because of a shift in developers. Also, I think the two Star Wars trilogies all around look pretty different.
I can't believe how seamlessly they blended the old gorgeous art style with the new one.. All as it should be, and exactly how halo was made to look! The trailer is nothing short of perfect!
