This car is more than worth the money. Especially right now in 2024. Model Y’s have never been cheaper. Elon has slashed prices by about 20k and the model Y still qualifies for tax rebate. Throw on no maintenance other than tires, no filling up with gas. It’s impossible to beat the value for the current price. No brainer buying this car right now.
Going to have to wait a ling time. I'm hearing second quarter of next year for it to be released in China/Europe and then another 1-2 quarters to arrive in the states.
Hey Marcus, thanks for watching! I have heard that quite a bit, but for me in my experience with previous vehicles, I personally don’t find it any more stiff or uncomfortable. But again that’s just my experience, and I know that as a common complaint amongst owners.
I always find myself eyeballing everyone's wheels to see the one out of about 50 that has no curb rash 🙂we live up in Colorado, so I bought a set of T sport 20 inch wheels for my winter tires.
Potential buyers need to be aware that the front and rear tires are different sizes. Also, a new set of tires will cost roughly $2500. It’s the price you pay for driving a 3.5 seconds 0-60 performance vehicle.
Have you noticed too on auto pilot with a merging lane it tends to pull towards the merge? Scary that’s why I hate “Auto pilot”. I had to buy so many “extras” that should be standard!
I’m on the FSD Beta track and it has been amazing on the highway. I just finished a vacation across Washington state and it was fantastic on the interstate even with dense traffic. For merging I think the inkling thing I’d whine about is that it waits to the end of the merge lane to actually merge instead of taking advantage of a gap before.
I keep seeing people comparing the luxury of a benz GLE or RX or X5. In same brands compare their electric version like a EQB. They are 30k more than non electric vehicles. So You have to add 20-30k for an EV. You can only compare luxury of a 30-40k car.
I agree with your opinion on the price to value vs other vehicles. I'm not sure the value is there. I don't care about minimalism in a car, as the Tesla has everything you "need"...but the price tag is out of control right now.
Thanks for watching Bria! You’re right, there are a few other factors to consider - and definitely fuel being a major one. My goal though, in this area was more of a simple comparison. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade for any of those.
Thank you for watching! I absolutely love the white interior, I do think it helps add to the luxury. I would get the black, however, if you want a more private interior for outsiders looking in. Both are same material.
I have white too. If you're not a neat freak go with the white but if you worry about the cleanliness of your interior, save yourself the stress and get the black.

Hi Humberto, thanks for watching! Yes, I’m sure you could probably do some math to make it similar in comparison ( although I think you were quite a bit high on the gas end of things, at least for my driving habits). And I’m also not considering monthly payments, interest rates, etc. my main point was there are certainly other options that may or may not appeal to everyone but it’s something to consider. I definitely love my tesla, and wouldn’t trade it for any of those as mentioned in my video but again, I thought it was worth bringing up. Thanks again for watching!
Hey Mick! Thanks for the question. I live in Central WA state, and the hottest it’s gotten in summer outside since I’ve had it is 114 F. I think the best answer I can give you is that I haven’t been uncomfortable or even noticed it was any hotter than any other car. I think this is due to 2 things- 1 I find the climate control works very well and even has an automatic “cabin overheat protection” setting so while parked it will never go above 110 inside the cabin. And I almost always turn on the AC from my phone when I know I’m headed back out to the car. 2- the glass is treated and helps keep it cooler. And perhaps my white interior may also help. I’ve had it now for nearly 3 years and if you take my savings in gas over that time (which was at its highest too) it’s not tooo far off from a fully loaded MYP today (however that tax credit is huge). It’s a great time to buy. If you don’t already have one, please consider using my link for your purchase! ts.la/shon70977

I wanted to get a Lesus NX hybrid but after over a year of trying to get one, I gave up and ordered a model Y Long range I. Red with white interior and had it in a week. I liked the Lexus but I definitely like this more.
Great video. Wish I could get one! Townhouse and level 2 charging upgrade would require new box and long wiring which got quoted at over $8k. That’s just a deal breaker for me.
Thanks so much for watching Tony! I totally get it. Luckily I had a 240 in my garage, so it was just a matter of wire to where I wanted the charger. It also doesn’t help that copper is so expensive. Now that said, I recommend checking the app PlugShare - it may work for you real nice if you have a free charger near where you work. Then charge for free during the day and use your standard 120 plug at home over night. I know some folks to rely exclusively on Superchargers too… still cheaper than gas. Anyway, thanks again!

Well, thanks for watching. I bought a Tesla because of those good reasons, for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. Nor would I trade it for any of the others I looked at. It’s bleeding edge tech too- hell, my channel name is “Now Teslafy” that’s as fan boy as it gets. But bro, the paint is soft. It’s really bad. And Tesla owners get flats all the time and curb rash is real bad (though yes, you can argue it’s my fault). It’s not all roses, and a lot of those things would not be an issue in the vehicles I showed.
Thanks for watching! I’m not too bummed about it; all configured (and before tax credit) it’s actually only about $2k less if you similarly configure mine: add premium paint, white interior, tow hitch, FSD and mobile connector. Plus, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it over the last 2.5 years and saved a ton on gas.
I may have gone more conservative if I had current pricing, but my exact configuration today is $72,990 according to the site (I don’t think it qualifies for the rebate). That’s only a couple K cheaper. But I’ve also had mine for nearly 2 years now, and I only paid 10k for FSD. No regrets.
FSD is $15k alone… fully loaded out the door for my exact config is $73,120 Add FSD, Black, White Interior, tow hitch and mobile connector. It does qualify for the tax credit… if a credit even makes sense for you. I have no regrets.
Is there something worse than ugly,,,$65K in depreciation. Probably highest ever recorded depreciation in consumer level cars. Making record in everything...Tesla. I know few of my friends bought model Y for $89K in 2022 because that's what they could get. Tesla was selling only fully loaded, highest version and with mandatory 15K FSD. Now same model Y is selling for 25K pre-owned. It's like loosing 64K in just 2 years. Those people must be kicking themselves right now. I swallowed my ego and bought BOLT EUV instead for 26K. It too went down in price and sells for $17K now. But not as bad as Tesla cars.
Thanks for watching! I think your numbers are significantly off, but it doesn’t matter, this is the best car I’ve ever owned in every way. I hope you enjoy your Bolt!

Plus, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it over the last 2.5 years and saved a ton on gas.
Man you bought at wrong time. 54k is y performance price now
I may have gone more conservative if I had current pricing, but my exact configuration today is $72,990 according to the site (I don’t think it qualifies for the rebate). That’s only a couple K cheaper. But I’ve also had mine for nearly 2 years now, and I only paid 10k for FSD.
No regrets.
My fully loaded MYP in red was 63k OTD with the price decrease where did you get 54k?
@doremeow2348 when did you buy it? Huge price drop spring of this year. MYP fully loaded white interior etc 58K out the door.
FSD is $15k alone… fully loaded out the door for my exact config is $73,120
Add FSD, Black, White Interior, tow hitch and mobile connector.
It does qualify for the tax credit… if a credit even makes sense for you.
I have no regrets.
@@ddoncits i got it May 28th red paint white interior tow hitch paid off half and finance the rest came up to $63k for me in California
9,000 miles after owning it a year? Lol
Thanks for watching!
additional ugly: the car lost 18k in value in matter of weeks. Just got mine, paid less than 62k including sales tax and all other fees.
Congrats and thanks for watching!
I’ve had mine for nearly 2 years now. I don’t care that much about depreciation.
dude paint your garage :)
I have since then!
This is not a garage review video.🙄
My 22 Performance Y will not be in the snow.
Awesome!! You’re lucky! But you’ll be glad to know it’s capable if needed!
