Not sure if it's how well your car is presented, or if it's just the colour mix, but I'm now leaning towards that combo..... 🙌🏻
I’ve had a Model 3 SR+ for almost 4 years, ~ 45k miles. Only maintenance I have done on the car is to replace the in cabin air filter twice. When it starts to smell a bit funky when the AC kicks on, it’s time to replace the filter. Last time, I switched to a HEPA filter, which seems to last much longer.

I may add 4 other reasons: 1- the software customization for a seamless, practical and fun experience. 2- the added value of fun stuff you can do inside with family (games, watch Netflix….) still no manufacturers on the market offer in-car entertainment to that extend 3- this reason doesn’t get old 😂 but the thrill you can share / surprise friends, colleagues and family in that quick sports acceleration 😂 the only way to understand it is to experience it yourself 4- So many options in accessories to make it to your flavor / personality / goals. (Such as yoke in a MYP…) Hope we can connect soon in sunny San Diego 😊
1. MYP lose the 27 miles range efficiency because of the 21 inch tires? MY with 20 inch tires loses 12 miles. If I put 19 inch tires on MYP I would get 330 miles range? 2. Does the MYP lowered suspension produce a harsh ride? Does it have comfort suspension like in 2023 MY?

I'm not sure that I completely agree with your take on the legacy auto makers as a whole. They do have some models that are EV from the ground up. Then you have things like the Mercedes EQB and the Ford F-150 Lightning. There is no actual ICE variation of the EQE or the Mach E. With that I can concede that they have a foot in the old way of doing things and the other in the new way. I think their battle is to gently pull the part of the consumer base along that is resistant to adopting EVs. I know people that are reaching for every reason as to why they refuse to buy an EV. With one that is a truck guy it seems Tesla and Rivian's design language is the deal breaker, he prefers something more traditional looking...I also think he is not feeling the price point. Others get hung up on all of the other generic fears of moving over to EVs (range anxiety, battery replacement, and that type of stuff). I personally think Tesla does a decent job of answering those things. I can say that overall I agree with your take. I only got here because I am heavily researching the Model Y Performance and really want to make sure it would be right for me.
Congratulations sir, but I feel the topic of tesla being minimal and simple is highly subjective, I feel tesla's minimalism is complex in some ways, the idea of having everything on one screen makes every other thing a little bit not that easy anymore in some cases unnecessarily difficult, take for e.g I own a Mercedes-Benz CLS 2020 and a model y, if I want to adjust my steering wheel on the merc, it's just one tap and I'm done but in the model y, I have to start digging through settings on my screen, you see on the merc it's simple and straight forward but on the model y it's simple but no longer straight forward, it's now adding unnecessary complexity to things that where just straight forward before and it's the same story with every other thing in the tesla, whether you're adjusting the seats the side mirror e.t.c everything is done through the screen, so in my opinion it's no longer simple anymore, it's now one step too many and my buddy who also owns a tesla told me something because I'm also new to ev cars as well, he told me that sometimes when there's an update, it can remap or change or relocate some settings or controls, which means having to remaster settings and controls again, so now I'm forced to find love for complexity and one step too many, so minimalism doesn't equate to user friendly, it equates to clean looks but not straight forward and simple, and on the aspect of cleaning your vehicle, it hasn't changed anything, it's the same
I had multiple Mercedes and BMW’s prior to owning my MYP. I don’t understand the issues you’re pointing out as all I do is press the right right button on my steering wheel and issue the commands to adjust the steering wheel or mirrors. The menu comes up and it’s then very simple to make the adjustments. No digging though menus even if the menu configuration is changed via a software update. Voice commands is a key feature that a lot of people don’t take advantage off. Myself included when I first got the car. Various key settings are also stored by driver and the car will adjust these settings to each driver. Lastly, the settings can be improved via software update. The steering wheel heater change in 2023.2.0.5 is a great example of this. BMW & Merc have a long way to go to catch up with this type of functionality.
I find once I've got my driving position right I never touch the steering wheel or mirrors again so I think the design aim of burying these switches was the right one. You could alway use voice commands if you find you need to change these things often.
Any opinion on Autopilot after radar and USS removed. I got mine in December and as you know the 2023 models no longer have this probably to cut costs. However, Autopilot is almost unusable with many phantom braking incidents. Unless this has always been an issue. Hi, we just picked up our second 2024 Performance Model Y and it makes a different sound that our other one when putting it in reverse (no not the alien sound, it happens before that) does your performance make that sound? I will upload a video.
I will be buying Model 3 Performance because of its speed, looks, refinement, and $7500 federal subsidy. It weighs less than the Y, and I don't have small kids either.
I've got a late 22 MYP which has been great, but I've been getting a slight knocking noise coming from the front of the car when going over slight bumps at slow speed. Have you noticed this at all?
Those company’s might survive as they don’t have ICE vehicles pulling them down. But all 3 are still non or minimal profitable. All 3 need to get past the manufacturing hurdle of mass production which they haven’t yet.
It’s definitely a fun fast car but my back hurts after driving it for 1 hr in my commute to work because of the bumpy stiff suspension! Im really starting to dislike the car. I have a 2023 MYP
Those cars are catering more to a transitional person, not fully ev yet. Yes the car is battery powered. But the experience inside and out is still trying to keep the driver in a traditional car experience and not take advantage of a computer first built car.
I'd argue that Tesla "minimalism" is NOT minimalist. Most cars you learn where all the buttons and knobs so you never have to take your eyes off the road. With Tesla, sure, everything IS on the screen, but you need to look at the screen to make sure you're not pressing the wrong thing. Even blind spot monitoring requires you to peek at your screen which is counterintuitive. The only saving grace is using voice commands. This is my only gripe with Teslas. No buttons != minimalist.

Great vid! Enjoyed it
Glad to hear it!
New concept, you still reviewing drones?
Yup. Just not much new recently in the drone world.
Like the flaps on the car.
Ford's Mach-e is build as an EV. The same with ID.3, ID.4 etc.
Those cars are catering more to a transitional person, not fully ev yet. Yes the car is battery powered. But the experience inside and out is still trying to keep the driver in a traditional car experience and not take advantage of a computer first built car.
@@TeslaoftheDay - they are still build from ground up as an EV, no matter what you feel.
@@Krylle All point of views are valid. Thanks Krylle. If you feel Tesla and a MachE are built the same, not sure I can help you there.
Nice.
Reason #1: Smoke all ICE cars when the light turns green
real range?? seems tesla loves to over state there range, so what's yours been?
I'd argue that Tesla "minimalism" is NOT minimalist. Most cars you learn where all the buttons and knobs so you never have to take your eyes off the road. With Tesla, sure, everything IS on the screen, but you need to look at the screen to make sure you're not pressing the wrong thing. Even blind spot monitoring requires you to peek at your screen which is counterintuitive. The only saving grace is using voice commands.
This is my only gripe with Teslas. No buttons != minimalist.
I look at it as simplistic. It feels nice to not be surrounded by buttons and levers like traditional cars.
1. No more maintenance
2. Wife will be safe
3. driving an iPhone 😂😂
It's not completely maintenance free.
Kudos
Tesla told me you dont rotate the performance tires
