Thanks for watching! Yes, I only use touchless washes and 90% of my washes are at home. In fact, I’ve got a whole video on my process (2 bucket method) and the special microfiber towels I use.
@@milp-gq2wy most of what I highlighted in this video are from using the handles- since they are recessed, hand/knuckle contact is inevitable when popping out the handle and simply opening the door.. and repeated contact makes it worse especially between washes. Here’s the thing- you *have* to touch the car. I've done everything possible outside of applying PPF to the entire car (I do have it on the hood/front). I use PS Detail products to also apply a hydrophobic coating/protection. And the microfiber towels I've purchased are professional grade and not just the pack you get at Costco or Target, so those are meant to be as soft and absorbent as possible. And as much as I've tried, fully touchless washing will *not* keep the car clean.
@nowteslafy thank you for all of the insights! I'm picking up my black Y this weekend so currently contemplating if I'm going to spend $5,300 for full PPF... may be worth my peace of mind. Thanks again!
@@milp-gq2wy Congrats and welcome to the Tesla family! If you're keeping it for a long time, yes, do it. Most like mine (Suntek) come with ceramic properties, thus hydrophobic and super easy to wash. Here's how I approached it. I'm getting a Cybertruck (at some point) and plan to sell the Y sometime in the next 2 years. That's 4 years of ownership and I think protecting the front is the most critical for providing rock chip protection. If by chance I decide to keep the Y (which, I'd love, just need that fat raise), I would do a satin wrap. Scratches gone.
@cookiesHDx Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich mein Video angesehen haben! Apologies for the loud music! I’ve paid closer attention to volume in my latest videos.
We just picked up our 24 Model Y Performance yesterday. The fit and finish is light years ahead of our 2021 Model Y that we just sold. I’m very OCD and the exterior fit and finish was spot on. No flaws in the Ultra Red paint, all of the panels were aligned perfectly and zero squeaks or rattles when driving.
11 trips back to the dealer in 28 months!?!?. They must serve some delicious lattes while u wait! If I spent that much for a car, I’d expect a better product.
Yeah it wasn’t awesome, though a few of the trips were returning as they had to order the part. That was frustrating too. A few other times, they couldn’t find anything wrong and just said I’d have to wait for a software update. That was quite frustrating. Then I hear others never have had a single service appointment. 🙄

Appreciate the long term update. Just ordered my MYP.
Congratulations!!! And welcome to the Tesla family!
21 months in my MYP. 23000 miles. 1 trip to the service center for spoiler coming loose. First set of tires. 2022. DRIVE HARD AND RECHARGE.
Great vid. Do you use touchless car washes? If not, do you think that it would avoid the swirls?
Thanks for watching!

@nowteslafy awesome I'll check it out! Do you think the swirls came from the soap or microfiber?

Thank you for watching and that’s great to hear! Do you know if your Y came from Texas or Cali?
Fremont
@mini2nut1 awesome. I heard Fremont stepped up their game! Glad to hear it’s true!

I’ve never needed one in 2 years. But I have a 2022 model.
@@justinstewart324852k miles on our 2021 and it has yet to visit the service center.

San Luis Obispo is pronounced "Loo-Is", not "Loo-E".
Sorry!
DRIVE HARD AND RECHARGE
I am sure there is useful information here but I can’t hear it over the music 🥸
Yeah sorry; another commenter mentioned the mix was too loud. Duly noted! Thank you for watching, even if it was just a little bit!
