Thanks for watching! When I initially installed it, there wasn’t a reliable mirror mount. On top of that, running a wire along the glass then down into the cabin wasn’t an easy task. So the pro of this method is definitely simplicity. It’s also well within my reach to mute and a much easier access to the 12v in the armrest. The cons are it may rattle against the top of the screen if your souse mucks with it… I’ve not at all been unhappy with the range; I actually reaffirmed last weekend on a road trip; easily alerted me 2 miles+ May even be too far, lol, I was like “well when the heck am I going to see him?” So no issues with range. I also like the ease of the magnet for removing/hiding it when I’m parking in public.

@@nowteslafy Thanks! One more question. Did you purchase a separate power cord or did it come with the R7? I thought it only came with the bungee style power cord that plugs into the cig lighter.

Thank you for watching! I’m so sorry for the delay in reply; TH-cam app is not great at sending me notifications. In my experience, three modes: chill, standard and assertive really only have an effect on follow distance. And, at least at this time, it’s not very noticeable. I definitely recommend trying FSD for at least a month (though I recommend waiting another couple weeks). It’s so great Tesla offers a subscription option. V12 has definitely catapulted FSD to the next level and I have found that I use it more than manual driving. And when I’ve gotten in Teslas without it, it desperately miss it.

Thank you for watching! Usually I use voice commands for destinations (and only a single destination). Editing trips with multiple stops is more difficult for sure. But yeah, for videos it would be helpful 😊

V12.5 is in final tests now, could go to employees before August. I'm pretty sure Elon has said he is testing V12.6 on his car, so it is pretty far along, too.

@@markl3893 And we know from years of Elon's statements that they are often false. Over promise and way under deliver. That's what usually happens.

@@nowteslafy If memory serves, you have a Model Y Performance with HW3 (called AI3 now). Have you installed FSD v12.5.1.5 on your MYP, or maybe the FSD v12.5.1.5 release doesn't include Model Y vehicles?

@TuneupMagic you’re correct I do have an Ai3 Model Y Performance. While there are plenty of Ai3 model Ys on 12.5, unfortunately I have not received that update yet. It also appears the Ai3 release for 12.5 has been paused by Tesla. Could resume tomorrow (maybe the holiday), but we also may be waiting on another version if they saw some fleet performance data they didn’t like. Only about 3-5% of the Ai3 fleet is on 12.5 per Teslafi.com

Agreed about complex city driving. There are many FSD v12 reviews on TH-cam, testing the software in New York, Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles. In a busy big city, even the latest FSD makes frequent mistakes. Human interventions are required. Self Driving is what people paid big money for. 100 percent human supervision is unacceptable .

@DerekDavis213 there are also plenty of videos on those same cities with few to no issues…

@@nowteslafy Of course there are videos with few to no issues, from our friend Whole Mars for example. That guy's primary interest is in the Tesla stock price. With him and others like him, FSD is all praise all the time. The very latest 12.4.3 software is nowhere even close to the skill level of a human driver. If you have tested FSD in busy big cities, I'm sure you would agree .

The majority of my drives are disengagement-free. I couldn’t say that 6 months ago. The progress is very fast.

I have a performance and love to drive myself too. But I love this tech. And it’s is already safer than 16year olds…

Mine is a 2024 MYP with the included FSD package (free transfer from my 23 M3P bought used when Tesla was giving them away last November) to free me up from routine driving. Note: we were at speed of 36mph all in entering, during and exiting a sharp left turn, followed by an immediate curve to the right, when urgently clearing an intersection safely under an unexpected yellow.
