Black Mage is fun. Just straight up fun. He is undoubtedly my favorite SSF2-exclusive character. I could go into detail, but this comment would be too long.

The reason Waluigi was likely voted is due to his "perfect" coverage. His dice covers low recoveries... while his spike covers high recoveries and forces them low and onto ledge setting up for punishments or... if Waluigi is off stage due to his recovery you'll try to come in low. The enemy is above you. Yeah.
This is some great coverage and makes guarding with and against him devastating and able to take stocks.

I'll be honest, I don't see Falco being the best character in the game. He's very good, yes, but imo, Meta Knight does better against more of the cast in general than Falco. Both characters can win off of a few openings, but Meta Knight gets more opportunities to search for and get that opening simply because he dies a lot less than Falco on average. His recovery is much better, he has more range because of his disjointed sword, and he can kill earlier than Falco because of how deep he can go to confirm a kill.
In short, I think Falco is very strong, but Meta Knight gets to play his game more often and is therefore better, in my opinion.

Before the most recent update I got bodied by this player who was really good and at first chose Falco (although they keep recking me with other characters) but Falco was basically almost impossible to get a stock off for me so in my experience Falco is better (although that may be is that I never really encountered really good meta knight players).
Imagine if mcleoadgaming and sakurai collaborated to make waluigi

Honestly Dee is my second favorite charter to play. The rush down combos are second to none and you can pretty much have the enemy where ever you want them if youre positioning is correct. He is mad fun to play at a higher level

When a character like DK manages to get good wins in major tournaments, it's safe to say that this game is fine in the balance department. With that said, I'd say it's a toss up between Sheik, Meta Knight, or Falco.
Yeah I definitely think this game has the biggest range of characters who can succeed at top level, so even though the balancing isnt perfect I think its a lot better then most offical smash games.

@@stefanocannizzaro632 I've played 1 year of offline ssf2 cuz I didn't know how to make an account :v, chibi-robo cpu's spam side b too much it's very easy to punish, also learned how to 3 stock dk difficulty 10 but haha who asked, wonder if anyone is gonna read this :p.
Wario for me, because the CPU keeps spamming Side B and the hitbox of the attack is crazy. It feels so satisfying beating him.
Jigglypuff. This CPU will literally edgeguard offstage just to get a kill. She's also supa aggresive.

when thinking of a "best character" there isn't a specific one that pops up in everyones' mind like other smash games which really show off how balanced this game is props to the ssf2 team , great job

ssf2 doesn't have
1- a character that breaks the meta so much that not picking them up means loosing
2- unusable characters (overpowered by every other character and picking them up against someone who is not a 3year old means loosing)

Ichigo is extremely good in everything he's in. He's amazing in SSF2. He's extremely broken in Jump Force. why is he so good in everything

So ive been playing around with Marth for a bit and I can safely say hes busted. His combo game is on point, his air game is good and his down air is busted to an ultimate level. His f smash also hits below ledge and almost all of his moves combo into forward air
As a Falco main in this game. I agree with this list. He is a mix between melee and brawl Falco which is op

This is the game that got me into ahs and Im so happy with it's roster and play, it's like brawl but it feels like they balanced around the lack of wavedashing and wavelanding by making everyone faster and having quicker moves

I think link is, though maybe not the best, definitely up there. He has great combo potential with his projectiles, which can be very versatile. He is pretty fast, and has solid weight. He doesn’t have the best recovery, but link is someone you play on the stage and like I mentioned, he’s up there in terms of weight, so you won’t really be knocked off too much.
Well we'll see if he stays that way next update when he gets Ult dash attack

my mains are sheik, black mage, meta knight, zero suit samus, samus, ness, naruto, lloyd and tails, you already tried meta knight out, i'd liek you to try the other ones out, they got very amazing attacks that if you use them well or even do a combo you can DESTROY your enemy

Meta Knight has been my main for a long time and I just started playing the game yesterday for the first time in a couple years, wanted to make sure that Meta Knight was still meta, glad he is since he's fun to play
Edit: Forgot to mention that I love using Ness, Shiek, Lloyd and Captain Falco, I'm not sure if they're good but they are fun for me to play

Finally got time to watch this, and I didn’t know Krystal was good, one of the characters I’m not really invested in so off of the recovery I thought she trash lol
My tier list (Based on combo game):
5) Captain Falcon
Is fast, good mixups, but can get punished easily
4) Sheik
Good Aerials and recovery, but small hitboxes for most attacks
3) Luffy
Great combo potential, can spike easily, but recovery can be punished easily
2) Luigi
Combo and damage output is crazy if you know how to use him, but recovery is bad without double jump and small hitboxes for some attacks
1) Sora
Great combos, great recovery, side-b allows for great mix-ups and sometimes even recovery, great damage output, smash attacks are great, but small hitboxes for up smash and side-b can be punished very easily

top 3 imo are sheik falco and mk
0.7 ichigo might have had the best projectile in all of ssf2 history, though if he was in beta he'd probably be low tier with how drastically the meta has changed
while I was disappointed in how it was completely repurposed in 0.9a-onwards it may have been for the best
God, I remember how busted Ichigo used to be, I remember maining him back then and all of my friends were super salty because I wouldn't stop spamming his projectile, it was just so broken. I do kinda think they nerfed it a tad too much but at least it's more balanced now, back then Ichigo was unplayable with how busted he was.
First Brawl, then Project M and now SSF2? Why is it that Meta Knight is consistently top tier in all the games that have Brawl's artstyle?

SSF2 competitive is doing pretty good right, some big tournaments thanks to mew2kings help. Honestly though, if you like PM and melee, definitely be on the lookout for fraymakers. Platform fighter by the creators of ssf2, with melee like mechanics
I’m a speed runner for classic so I’m kinda bias to think that captain falcon and donkey Kong should be up here

Yes, because this game is completely slow on my laptop. Even at low resolutions. This makes it really hard to actually hit something properly. I LOVE Waluigi tho. He is my favorite character ever, and i think his moves and recovery can be pretty balanced, of course there's the RGN mixed there, but hey, that's what Waluigi is! You can't really predict him. It's a nice touch.

dude Sora is BROKEN... he has stupid combos with down air chains into down special, he has really good aerials that all combo into each other, he has sooooooo many kill confirms, he also has a good recovery that can even be stalled with his down special, and so many other good points. I think he is the best definitely.

I recently got really good with Bandana Dee, so in my honest opinion, I'd have to say, with a lot of practice, He is Viable.

I think part of Meta Knight being considered so good is not just because he is good, is because most people don't have experience against solid MK gameplay, since the only good MK is zair, the rest is ass.

i played against someone with ichigo with the 4 lives game and i didnt die and he barely got me 12%damage and i won with like giving him atleast 80%damage each live XD
i personally don't find falco broken, i just wanted rayman to be on this list cause of the epic combos he does with his plum
