- Thank you guys so much for watching. It's great to see another official tier list get released at a good time. I thought that era was over but Ermac saves the day. Hopefully, you can also agree with most of the list, if not drop why in the comments. But regardless, let's just pray for a new patch soon!

The fact that there was a time when Tails was the best character in the game seems impossible when you look at him now..

@@galaxyknight9631he's my main since SSB64, even though he's always been below-average at best. Probably this game's devs also had him as their favorite, so they decided to buff him to top tier.

Thanks for the shoutout man! I definitely feel that Chibi isn't as one-note as you might think. Yeah, he has to play pretty defensively to win, but he has solid options in a lot of areas and if you play your cards right you can get really ambiguous approaches and good punish damage. I think the theoretical best Chibi neutral revolves around running and jumping around and away while lasering and punishing big when opponents get in and try to whack at his shield. Definitely feel that the character is slept on by the community, though. I'll keep working towards pushing the character's meta, so who knows, maybe Chibi will be higher on the next tier list if we see some more players of the character come out of the woodworks.
Dude bandana Dee is the character that got me into this game, and hearing no one's repping the bandana Boy makes me sorta want to try and go hard
As a BD main, I was a bit disappointed by hey, just gives me the advantage of the matchup. Most people dont face gin to often.

As a Kirby main (albeit more casual than anything else), I believe he's not REALLY a bad character... everyone else is just kinda better

Great video! As a Link main I can safely say that he carries in this patch - the huge issue for me is that he can kind of just press buttons and invalidate the gameplans of everyone in the bottom half of the cast no sweat

I dont do flash competitively, but as a diehard zelda fan, seeing link as the best character of any smash game makes me cheer
I remember not knowing anything about competitive SSF2 and couldn't find anything when trying to learn about my mains, now that I find something, I found out almost all of my mains are lower tier.

Link in SSF2 is the game's "EVERYTHING MUST KILL" character. So him at No.1 is not surprising.
Fox, Lloyd and Ichigo have kept their high spots for a good while or at the very least often.
It's also great to see Krystal and my main Isaac high up! I stuck with Isaac since the very start of Beta. He had a good playerbase but then said playerbase dropped, and I stuck with him throughout. So it's pretty cool to see him come out as a top tier.

It’s been a while since I’ve played, but I’ve always been a big zss believer and I’m so glad inari is too
As a Rayman main, Let me tell ya- He might be good in the air, but its also so easy to make combos in the ground. (Mostly because Rayman combos don't exist, it's just one move to another.)
And after 60%, all it takes is side special into Forward smash to take someone's stock.
Damn, still entertains me even if I don't play it
Haven't played this game in years but I got this in my recommended and I wanted to see how well my old mains are doing, they're all below c tier except waluigi :(
As a both a Sonic main in SSF2 and a dual main with him in SSBU, I can definitely say that his move set is much more fun in SSF2. He just has that level of explosiveness that is simply not there in Ultimate, no matter if you’re a casual or if you’re Sonix.
In SSF2, I secondary Sora and tertiary Captain Falcon, and in Ultimate, I dual main with King K Rool.
He’s way more fun in SSBC.
But I would agree:
SSF2 Sonic > SSBU Sonic
If you have the time, definitely recommend checking out SSBC Sonic (super clean look).

In general ssf2 it's a pretty underrated game and the same with the content if this game i used to play it when I was 10 years old and is still playing it with my siblings (my laptop and wifi are horrible so i can't play online)
Oh yea by the way even though this game does not get that many updates anymore, new techs can be discovered and I have found a few. Mr game and watch bucket fast fall (cant think of a good name.) if you short hop them down special you fall really quick allowing you to get off platforms quickly. Lucario can dash attack on the lower platforms on wario ware and make it to the other platform. Luigi down Special slide. Luigi can slide half way through yoshi story by tapping down b once and you will slide really far.
Poor Godly man😭. I dual main Ichigo and marth so I'm biased but I think Marth should be higher and Ichigo deserves top 5 minimum. Both are so busted. Though I do use every swordy and one day just clocked that they run this game
I mained Link in Smash 4 and played him in SSF2 all the way in 2015, it's cool that he's #1 now!
I have a take: People using results is one of the worst ways to analyze characters. You can play any character and make any character look good.

Luc goes up by like 3 on lan/rollback btw since reacting better to di means their early aura combo juggles turn into "i can put you in any part of the stage i want" which gives you more tries for edgeuards

Honestly sonic's weakness is his kit not meshing well with itself like all smash games instead somehow worse.His nair is decent in neutral,does nothing else,up air has way too much knockback and I think no longer autocancels making it less effective in neutral and combos,so sonic camps for uptilt/d-tilt making him very ground based while not having the best optionsfor it,back air doesn't combo like official smash games and feels slower(maybe due to 30 fps instead of 60).Light speed dash sucks too as he has no way to combo into or out of it,too slow(LIGHT SPEED dash)to come out,doesn't travel far enough for recovery,puts in free fall(without the free fall white glow( and sweet spot not that strong,marth version a slower worse fox side B.
He feels his individual moves were reworked for the "not official smash sonic" trademark with no regard to how will he play with them.

I remember when this game first came out I was still in elementary school and I got to play all the way up to middle school mostly because I never found out how to download it Can you actually make a video into how to download it so I can actually play it again I would love to join the competitive scene

I’m an outsider to SSF2’s meta but seeing that there were 13 characters in S tier with -Sora- Roxas at #6 is kinda funny.

I dont know how much it would change but alot more character become viable. So order not so much but tiers alot

RIP my boy Ness, he’s so damn underrated and when I saw DK at Bottom Tier, I was in disbelief. My man fell off so fucking hard, dude. But overall, I agree and respect this tier list. Hope all the swordies get nerfed that way every character can have a chance to shine. This game is still a blast to play.
its been a while since i've played ssf2 but dispite not knowing anything about the buffs and nerfs that have happened since playing, i can confidently say that im happy with this tier list as last i played goku, black mage, and GnW were all at the bottom which i highly disagreed with. im glad to see that people are getting better at feeling out each character's potential

Was really confused when people put it like Chibi at D tier or something. I honeslty think Chibi is really good since he has grab kill confirms, one of the best neutral Bs that straight up invalidates matchups like Bowser and amazing range. Of course, he isn't busted since his recovery isn't exactly the best, and also, having a weird pocket thingamajig. But yeah don't downplay the Robo

As someone who played ssf in middle school and only plays Ultimate now, I'm fuckin sick of Kirby being the worst character in every game. I just want to play my boy without shooting myself in the foot. Thank goodness for JeJaJeJa, without him I prolly wouldve given up on smash

I think one major thing that would make both Sheik and Zelda better, while it is kind of cheating, is making the transform faster. However, I do want to propose other changes that I think would balance the two out more and encourage not just playing one of the two. If this happens, Sheik should get some kill power nerfs. It really feels trivial to kill with Sheik, so there's no real need for Zelda often. Maybe giving Zelda some more air mobility and making some of her specials less laggy so she has the ability to fight back against people who constantly run when they're at kill percent. From what I've seen of the two, it just feels like there's no real reason to swap most of the time
Thats interesting. I never really thought about balancing the character around the fact that they can change into each other like pyra and mythra. I always thought they should just split them up
@@Inari_YT I think either one would be a great option. I'd prefer if they split the characters completely, but if they do keep them as a transformation character, I hope they balance the character around the transformation aspect
If I’m being honest, Zelda does not need mobility buffs in any way, shape or form. Her being as slow as she is is supposed to be an intended weakness to balance out her insane normals, if you made her like not even Falco speed or something, she’d honestly be a high or borderline top tier. Her main weaknesses caused by her horrible mobility is having terrible neutral and being vulnerable to camping, so making her faster makes those weaknesses less relevant. I also disagree with sheik needing kill power nerfs cause she really does not need it. And about Zelda’s specials, they are definitely her weakest aspect to her move set but they are still really good anyways.
I honestly also don’t really see them buffing transform to be faster since it wouldn’t motivate people to switch between Zelda and sheik more often. Everyone who plays sheik does not want to touch Zelda because of her oversimplicity, and no Zelda plays sheik either (there have been a few exceptions but the primary Zeldas or NA [Zeldad and me hello hi]) it’s not like an aegis situation where the characters share a similar move set but with different attributes, they are just completely different characters. I honestly hope that they aren’t separated as official characters since giving Zelda phantom would be a huge mistake that would probably push her over the edge. Anyways I hope the propaganda got into your head!
@@Insider0013 everyone that plays against Zelda knows her weakness. Her poor mobility which everyone already knows, neutral game and endlag of her attacks. Its time they should buff her mobility, it doesn't matter that it will change her weakness. All the smash games she has been in and they can't buff that😟
She has already been nerfed from v0.9b such as Bair and fair were stronger on shield and had less endlag. Bair has lost it kill power. Nayrus love deals less damage, and the hitboxes connected much better. Dins fire was Faster, and has less endlag. Farores wind deals less damage, the first hit has less range than 0.9b, it has so much endlag now. The recent patches of beta has nerfed the second hitboxes range. Fast fall was much quicker. Up tilts hitbox has changed, it no longer hits grounded opponents. Forward smash has more endlag.
Farores wind is not a good kill confirm as the opponent can easily DI the second hit. Up smash kills later even though it deals more damage. Up air has an annoying hitbox, as sometimes it deals 2% damage but no knock back.

I’m dying on this Zelda is good hill like she is is very underrated
Zelda is actually rated exactly where she deserves to be. From everyone I’ve talked to they also agree that Zelda can’t really be higher than mid tier because of her weaknesses, but she can’t be low tier because of her overbearing moves. She’s honestly kind of both underrated and overrated by some, but she’s an extremely polarizing character in this game for several reasons, with horrible matchups against a lot of the top tiers and only winning mostly against characters ranked lower than her. At the same time she’s both hard to play because of how exploitable she is, but also she’s insanely easy because of how low a skill floor she has.
