- I recreated SSF2 Mario in Fraymakers! Here's a showcase of how I did it, and how he turned out in the Fraymakers engine, as my first custom workshop character.

Custom content is the lifeblood of multiplayer games. I'm so glad fray supports it so hard.
This is exactly what I wanted to see. While porting over all the SSF2 characters might be asking too much, I would like to see some of them make it over. I think my most wanted SSF2 characters are Rayman, Sora, Tails, and Goku.
We have a few people working on porting at least some of them over. We've already got GnW, Mario, ZSS, Captain Falcon, and Fox. Once the game goes to early access I bet people will get the rest of them put in pretty quick

Great job Bowler! This is amazing and in only a few days, impressive! (At least, I think it was a few days) As I make Cube, I'll definitely make a backup, don't want to lose the file as well. Also, this video was really encouraging, even when struggles arise, or when files are lost, you can still keep going, recreate and get good results, maybe even better than before.
As I was working on Cube, I got "error rendering component', and I had a previous save and backup that wasn't too different from the current. And thankfully, my file is saved right now. Again, this vid was helpful and gives a pretty good reminder.
Just wonderful work, loved it so much, I also commentated Mario going up against Gengar, ZSS, and Foxy ;)

0:17 Fraynkie here reminds me of the 3 sandbag-like characters in the DS game Jump! Ultimate Stars. Unplayable square-shaped dummies that have a moveset and fight back.

This is really cool and was a nice look into how fraytools works, i really want to make a character when early access comes out but dont kno anything about the process so this gives me a lot of hope

i said that in the discord already but imagine an SSF2 pack for fray, so whenever ssf2 gets finished, we can port every character to fray, with the stages and everything! ssf2 in 60 fps with rollback

Mario already has a black mustache with brown hair, the color on the Rosalina alt doesn't matter.
Now just gotta get somebody to resprite him to actually fit in visually. The pixels are so much bigger than the pixels of everything else. But you did a pretty darn good job getting the gameplay in!

This makes my dream Smash Bros. roster a possible reality now! I'd literally commission multiple people to make custom sprites on par with Fraymakers sprites and make the movesets for my entire roster. I don't care how long it takes, I would do it.

4:24 I feel that, I was working on a MUGEN edit and then suddenly the sounds file decided to not load, with it not even working in game and it crashing the editor. I only had an older version which was very outdated so I used that, but restored the missing sounds when I noticed some were missing.

how easy would it be to make a new character from scratch? had my eyes on corrin in fraymakers for a while now
Honestly I can't speak much for the art aspect, but I definitely think you could make a super fun Corrin moveset in Fraymakers, worth giving a shot!
I know many people who are spriting their own characters in the Fraymakers style, so it may take a bit longer, but it would be super worth
I think the only difficult part would be the neutral special. Other than that corrin should be fairly straightforward to make in fraytools (of course it would take a very long time if there aren't already sprites made for them though)

I need to learn how to do this for my Smash fan game. But the question is Bowler, how do I get started with creating a mod fighter in Fraymakers? Does it require a lot of sprite work, coding, and animating?
I can't speak much on Spriting, but for coding and animating, it does take some time to get it looking good, but it's not as difficult as I thought, Fraytools makes it a lot easier.
