Poor tails, he's such a well-made character with the sprites and fun moves. I bet he would be a lot better if he kept his old up special from 9.b. It would turn at least his recovery from the lowest to the highest tiers

The problem with all that is that he has basically no neutral whatsoever
I wouldn't call his movement crazy, there are some strange quirks about sandbag that are difficult for sandbag players to get around and they make sandbag super punishable

Ever since they made it to where your little robot does not go through shield and the whole jump decay thing tails has become ALMOST unplayable he can still do things and his combos are amazing but when it comes to recovering he's pretty bad

@@rightdaytosaystudio7920 actually the thought just came to mind the robot is really good because it makes the opponent jump putting the opponent where tails wants them to be if only the robot had more health in the form of super armor (2-3 hits no matter the damage should be enough to disable it) but I think that would be to strong

In my honest opinion, because of the engine of the game, each character feels super smooth and strong with their combos. So when saying which character is the weakest, I’ll say depending on who is playing the character.
I definitely think the difference from the best to worst is much smaller in SSF2 compared to some other smash games, so I can agree with that to a good extent.

@@UntarLaManteca well, yeah... but if you know how to play around his side b, is kinda easy to edgeguard, and once this happens, he is dead because his main recovery tool are his jumps
A really neat thing about SSF2 is that every character feels fun to play as, to some extent.
I'm a casual player who mains random and spends most of my time playing against the CPU, trying to learn how to combo, and I win with every character 99% of the time, and have fun doing it without advanced tech. So, every character is high-tier in terms of fun for me personally. Except when I'm against a Wario CPU. Then nobody gets to have any fun.

I couldn't agree more with you! I am also a casual player and have fun playing against the CPU. I have never really cared about advanced techs or frame data and such. The only thing which can be considered advanced when I play is the spikes I go for. But that's about it. I play with every character and I think everyone is very fun. And about fighting the Wario CPU... I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that the battles against Wario are more infuriating rather than fun.

As a loyal Tails main, I can so with confidence that his pressure game has really plummeted since then. Before, he was really able to keep his opponent with the tools he had. Now? He's practically a joke. I feel like his tech doesn't really give him any leg ups, since they're usually all getaway tools. I must also say that his fall speed really doesn't align with his weight (he's light, yet falls like a brick) so that REALLY makes it hard for him to recover. There's just so many other things that hinder him from being good.

Imo Bomberman has stage control & mindgames/pressure with bomb setting
simple answer: akabonba.
Even without Akabonba showing off, Bomberman can turn a whole stage into a kill confirm at every roll in a matter of seconds, that fact alone keeps from ever grazing low tier.

I stopped playing SSF2 when Tails ban stuff was about, but lord what on earth has happened to make Tails genuinely considered the worst by a somewhat decent amount of people.

Sandbag has shown me the benefit of having a joke character. because SOMEONE has to be the worst. having a character designated as the worst gives you a good point of reference for balanace.
Sandbag is one of my favourite fighting game designs or at least my favourite joke character design
I'm a Jigg main and I totally agree with you but I think she really needs a sing buff because you litterally get punished for hitting the move if the opponent isn't 80% or more
The only thing they need to do is rework his moveset and add some moves from Fighterz. Hell, I can see it man.
ganon, easily. yes you have your cool twitter combos and doriyahs. now try to land them when the whole cast just dances around you. try making it back on stage. try getting out of disadvantage.

u know if u down throw with sandbag at a ledge and spam down and attack after, u can kill at zero, ive been doing that since he came in
I believe Goku can be better if he get some buff. Like for example, he could teleport when you charge a kamahamaha(like once or twice to trick your opponents.). Or at least try to speed up some attacks. Maybe try to put back that down smash from the previous versions. That one was really good until they replace it with energy balls instead. But that's just my opinion. I would love him to be back up there again with naruto.

I have little knowledge of the competitive scene, I'm a basic casual player, heck, I'm a Sandbag main, but I wanna give my two cents here. Any character, those who are bad, like Melee Kirby, and those who are extremely good, like Brawl Meta Knight, can be used in interesting ways, even to the point where their competitive viability is brought to question. So in my eyes, even a terrible character can be good as long as the player using them knows how to use them in the best way. Yes, even Melee Kirby could be good, and Brawl Meta Knight could be awful.
That's just my thoughts though.

Most people who play Bag knows he's bad but plays him anyway cause funny bag.
While I don't know who actually is the worst character, I did consider "maining" Ganondorf and Jigglypuff at different points during this update. Though I dropped Ganondorf mainly because of his speed, and I dropped puff not because she was bad or anything my eyes just started to wonder off to different characters. Currently am on the Bowser train but I will see where that one goes. Also was for a short time on the Peach and Yoshi train. Funilly enough I am usually someone who picks up top tiers by accident in this game. Zelda in 0.9B (my favorite character ever) and Samus during one update she was broken in iirc. I wonder if I land on a top tier again this time.

Watching this even though I've never played this game. How did they give Tails of all characters a bad recovery?
The engine change makes Tails fall faster, so despite having 5 jumps each one doesn't get much height.
Additionally, Up B throws a robot instead of serving as a recovery move.
Lastly, Side B's high endlag limits it's recovery potential
His recovery overall is actually pretty alright, it's mostly just exploitable because of the lack of a recovery up special. But his five jumps are fairly versatile and horizontally he fares much better.

how do you publicize the ssf2 repalys lives? I can't because it is an ssfrec file
.ssfrec is just a script of the gameplay inputs to recreate the match, not a video file. You have to manually record the replay as it plays with a OBS or any other program.

Did you know Sandbag has a pretty much wavedash mechanic where if you press diagonally down, down b on the ground he’ll do a slide with zero lag. Pretty useful…

I think my problem with the game is I'm only here to play the new characters. black mage, bandanna dee, and sandbag are my favorite characters but pretty much none of the others interest me because I could just play ultimate instead (plus I'm not a fan of playing online so it could be that too)

I never been a dragonball super fan so this isn't me being biased but I think goku should be a top tier (high tier at least) , why? , because he is fucking goku
@@amgdeg4897 I completely admit that I'm biased towards Goku. From a gameplay point of view, he's literally perfect. The most fun character in the game for me without equal, and a couple of other Goku players share my sentiment.
However, I also know that his sprites are absolute dogshit, and his moves are incredibly lame in comparison to what his moveset could be. However, I just don't believe in them making a new moveset that'll be just as fun as this, I'm scared of losing the current goku for something completely different, I absolutely agree with a resprite however.
He's 100% a midtier btw, there's no way I play this game competitively since .9b only for my best character to be bottom 5, a lot of the competitive side is gradually turning favorably towards goku after a bunch of players including me picked him up and actually started working on him.

I've played the 0.8 and 0.9a version, Goku is my favorite character of the game, good teleport, overpower transformation, and others, and Naruto have a hit-kill rasengan.

What Goku truly needs is Super Saiyan. He can turn Super Saiyan blue in his final smash, but can't even go at least the first Super Saiyan in game which is complete horse shit.
