Considering he's been my main since the resprite, mine is definitely 100% yoshi's no doubt, no contest. But to be fair, I haven't played all the resprited characters too too much. Kinda not looking forward to sora's release, unless they fix him before it comes out. Because sora is definitely my secondary
my top five, from lowest to highest, are mario, yoshi, kirby, ness and then peach. yoshi's resprite was indeed very good, the old yoshi didn't fit the game very well, like the old mario. kirby's side special and running animation got to be one of my favorites now that he's resprited. ness looks very cute now, he's more like the ness in the official smash games. pk flash and pk thunder look better compared to 1.1 and older. it makes the old ness look ew. lastly, peach. she has way better animations now, and her best animation got to be the down taunt. it's so smooth! she has more details on her dress and other stuff, and she's enjoyable to play with better sprites. in short, those are my opinions about these resprites, which are the best ones in my opinion. yes, i do play those characters.
As a peach main her respirate was really amazing her animations are pretty good her down smash is basically melee peach down smash and up throw is now a chain grab the new peach looks better in every way especially the la la la la la
I really like the resprite of Tails. Also thank god they nerfed him, at least the fans know when they need to balance the top tiers (*COUGH COUGH JOKER COUGH*)
My only problem with resprites/reworks is that they always lose the originality,like the old Mega-Man,Sonic,Wario was so unique,but in beta they just has they're movesets from the main titles
When I say "well-designed" I mean a lot more than just being competitively viable. Mega Man's old gimmick was a cool concept but it didn't add anything, it was annoying to deal with, and Mega Man is just better suited for something like what Smash 4 has.
Well they do keep some of the originality intact. Both mega man and wario are amalgamations of their 9b iterations mixed with the official title. Mega man still has his 9b up b, f tilt and wario has his unique side b. I too miss the wario down air spike days but what can u do
We need a playable dbz character. Either buffing Goku by changing some moves or the knockback would help a lot. Or maybe adding a different character like Beerus or jiren
Honestly I never was really a fan of Pikachu up air spike it was almost a pain for me to string up air together and get big combos and his back air i really do enjoy its much more quick and its not the pizza back air that he had tho its not smash 64 good in terms of kill power its now a somewhat safer option out of shield but that’s my opinion if you love his up air spike and want it back then im fine with it
I don't know if i'm in the minority but i don't like the sff2 trend of making everything closer to smas ultimate, even down to introducing new characterts from smash ultimate and giving them the same moveset like ryu and lucario. I mean i get that it probably makes it easier to balance and animate, but i think most people that play ssf2 also have access to SBU, and also hurts the argument that this is an inoffensive fan game and not a way to partially play SBU without paying for it. I definetely miss using megaman or sonic back when megaman wasnt even in smash 4. I really enjoy that alternative interpretation of what a megaman moveset would look like. I have to be honest, i get somewhat dissapointed when a ssf2 character gets announced and its another SBU character
I’m pretty sure it has to do with the way he holds and swings his sword. If it were the other way then you’d see way more animations with the cape facing us, whereas now it’s just his idle and counter.
Nah I think as its stands he is a great joke character and a pretty functional one at that. He has really fun combos, set ups with his down throw and up b and that forward throw don't lie. His dash is pretty trash tho.
Donkey kong really really needs a re-sprite his sprites look really bad, also character mugs shots in the select screen need touch ups cause some of their faces are hard to look at
