  • Our engineering and fabrication team at Modern Automotive Performance is proud to present the MAP Catback Exhaust system for the 2022 Subaru WRX.
    The street version of this exhaust system has dual 2.5" mufflers that have a more subtle tone while still enhancing the exhaust note, a more daily driver-friendly option. While the race version of the exhaust is a straight through 3-2.5" exhaust with a loud tone. Designed with ease of installation in mind, this exhaust will bring out a deeper and more aggressive tone from your vehicle.

    was thinking about a 18' wrx, but might just have to go with the 22' bc the rear end is screaming my name... def more character than any previous gen.

    I ordered this exhaust and You guys sent me a dented muffler, and the catback adapter they sent me was questionable while the adapter fit the hardware was wrong, i had to go buy bolts from lowes and use the oem springs from oem bolts to get it on, pain in the butt, but after all that and it was on, it sounds amazing and feels so much better and smoother into the higher rpms.

      Mine drones bad enough at 2k to occasionally set off the knock sensor. And that's the muffler version... Thinking of getting rid of it. They wipe any non 5 star reviews also...

    Need the sound of it with the J pipe as well. Seriously considering this exhaust or the AWE.

    Hell YUUUSSSS. Can't go wrong with MAP. I actually cut my MAP exhaust and rewelded it because I couldn't wait and man does it POP POP POP. I also have white so we share that in common too 💝
    Edit: mine doesn't have mufflers and I have to say there is zero drone on the highway.

  • @WRXStuff

    Sounds great, only downside is I have to replace the axle back I already have from you, will you be releasing a mid pipe option to work with your axle backs. Or do I have to replace them with this new setup? Thanks!

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great Question! Being that the muffler delete is a straightforward 2-bolt design to match the OEM exhaust, and our Cat-back is a super convenient v-band setup, sadly, you would have to replace it.

    • @_u0nda928
      @_u0nda928 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That rumble comes from un equal length headers. The WRX starting from the 4th gen had equal length headers.

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're looking for a milder tone, the muffled street-version sounds like a great pick! However, after driving our race version, we can assure that the highway exhaust noise levels are not overwhelming.

    Does the race version sound more quiet in the cabin at highway speeds then the muffled? 🤔

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The race version is overall louder including in the cabin. That being said, the race version is pretty fair on the highway for being an un-muffled configuration.

    hows the drone with the street version? whats cold start 1-10 if stock is 1

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Drone is very minimal with the street version. She does make some noises on a cold start but it's closer to a 5-6. Once it's passed the warming phase it's super quiet.

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the only thing installed on your car is a catback, the performance gain will be very marginal. But if you have other supporting mods a catback exhaust can act as a hp multiplier!

    WE NEED THE SUBIE RUMBLE they sound rice out

    • @ChazOfGod
      @ChazOfGod ปีที่แล้ว +13

      The rumble comes from headers, need un-equal length, which is not the most effective setup.

    • @steve8803
      @steve8803 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @Gary Reinke You are talking about adding sound(uel headers) to the detriment of performance, which is the definition of rice.

    • @BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTree
      @BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTree ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean wasn’t the STI producing the most "rumble". This is a regular WRX and the last gen had similar sound with after market catbacks.

    • @SolarOrangeVB
      @SolarOrangeVB ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTree the STI in the last gen (VA2015-2021) used the classic EJ25 engine which from the factory had unequal length headers, hence the rumble. The WRX model of the VA chassis had the newer FA20 which came from the factory with equal length headers which smooths out the sound. Samw goes for the 2022VB WRX they come with equal length however the new FA24 engine does rumble a little because it's bigger

    • @SolarOrangeVB
      @SolarOrangeVB ปีที่แล้ว

      Until they start coming out with good downpipes/J-pipes so we can go stage 2, there won't be too much rumble

      Any other suggestions? By far this is the best I heard from 100 + TH-cam videos. The problem with these new gen as many posted they have the equal length headers. You can do the un-equal length headers but you compromise the HP but you gain torque. That rumble sound is insane and this is the closes ok sound the other I hear is ok is the Invidia R400
