One tip for using any kind of sandpaper 1000+ grit: use soapy water on the surface when sanding,. It both helps prevent scratching and gives a better polish. Spray bottle with some dawn platinum and water, keep it soaking wet while sanding, it gets real shiny and buttery smooth I like the burnt tip look when the car is blue, but with the light colored exhaust heatshields you got, the polished look is definitely way better.

@@Smeedia Loving it. Doesn't feel as raw as the hatch did, but it has a refinement as a daily driver that i don't think any awd manual car has brand new. Plans are this same catback actually, STI wing, coils, hypergrams, billetworkz shifter, and sport grille.
Hell yeah dude. Got my CBS VB a month ago for Fathers Day (my rationale lol) and I’ve done tints, 20mm spacers, AFD duckbill, and the ETS axleback with stealth tips. ETS resonated midpipe is next and then lip/skirts/diffuser. Love the videos man
3:54 the micro scratches are from jumping from 400grit to a scotch bright and the moving to 2k, should have used 600grit and then 1k then 2k. Of course after the rubber finger wheel thingy
Well the "finger wheel thingy" is 80 grit fiberglass, tends to scratch if you are too hard. I recommend the white and yellow, i use them to resurface heads all the time
Tanner I'm telling you, the AWE Track is one of the best exhausts I have heard on a subaru. At least on the EJ it has such a low aggressive growl with the resonator. I'm gonna keep telling you about it until you try it lol
The awe does sound good but I'm being too picky 😅 I hate slip on exhaust tips and the few AWEs I have seen had absolutely terrible welds. My own welds may not be perfect but what I saw on the few I did was hot poop. Could have been a bad batch but kinda swayed me away from them 😅
@Smeedia really? Weird. The one on my STI has beautiful welds. I do agree the slip on fit isn't great but imo worth it for the sound. Give it a try some day!
I ran a AWE track edition on my fa20, it was alright, my single exit from Rae-Motorsports in Rochester, NY sounded 10x better but I’m loving the obnoxiousness of my Hellfire Fab bumper exit 😂
I agree that the quad tips look way better and ofcourse sounds way better also. I don’t like burnt tips either so good tutorial on removing 👍. Also props for posting the bog launch at 8:40 😂😂 we’ve all done it

When I had my 2016 I was looking at a tomei single exhaust exhaust and on a subaru website there was a peice you could get for the bumper to make it look like there was only a single exit exhaust spot I'd imagine the longer these cars are out the more little stuff will come out

I find that I am the same way. I have a 2011 Legacy that came with a single exit exhaust and it has a block off for the passenger side but I just bought a used set of Nameless 5" Muffled axle back with dual tips
When you put the exhaust on the 23 WRX, did you look into Nameless Performance? They are located in Woodland, Washington. I'm trying to find a sound clip but haven't had any luck.
The drone on the highway is bad on mine. I'm thinking of getting the resonated midpipe or just selling and getting the AWE that you add mufflers later.

@@Smeedia Nameless is top notch sound and quality wise, I find with the Nameless it's more lower pitched in higher rpm's where as the ETS I ran before sounds higher pitched.
Agree 100 percent, I absolutely love the sound of a single exit but it just doesn't look right without a dual/quad on that bumper. And if anyone says they can't tell the difference in sound between a single and dual, you haven't listened close enough 😅
It sounds so much nicer but still not as burble-ly on an sti. Never been a huge fan of the 22-23 wrx but what you're doing to it makes 1000% better. Quad look makes these subies sooooo much more handsome. Nice job

Tbh the Cobb one seemed too quiet (at least when I had it on my 14 wrx). Great quality but so queit. For what you want it sounds like it might be a solid option. I also just like my stuff stupid loud 😅

Dude, I have been having issues with my front endlinks since I installed my Silvers. I have been told that the aftermarket endlinks bolts are literally a hair too small. I still get tons of clunks on the front. I'm going to swap the bolts out when I get back home. Your VB is catching up to me. I heard rumors of Cobb soon. That's when the real fun starts.

@Smeedia To be fair they don't sound too different. When cruising around there is a nice quietness to the tone while in the 2000-2500 range while not accelerating. But the tone fills out nicely while accelerating and going through gears. Hearing the non-resonated though...I think that idling or normalized quietness isn't there quite the same. Kind if can't tell as your video didn't have video of you just sitting at the same rpm for a little while.

Tbh I haven't found any rear diffuseres for the hatched I personally like. I had the verus on mine for a day then took it off because it looked out of place 😅 REALLY good quality just looked off
I noticed that JDM WRX do not have the rear reflector strip above the rear wheel cladding. Since you added JDM parts on the front bumper you can consider removing the red reflectors…..
Unfortunately MAPerformance has my full Perrin intake system on backorder. Intake/box/chargepipe/ but not the tmic which imma wait to install. Still no word from Billetworkz on my enginebay caps. On the plus side though the JDM fuse/coin pocket i odered from SubieSpeed will be in thursday(?)!

With my new '22 WRX, if I want to keep it reliable as a daily driver, what would be the prescription for performance upgrades that keep it the most reliable? In my head, I'm thinking exhaust (What Exhaust is best for a performance upgrade, intake, and tune? Then be done and just enjoy it? Suggestions or advice? Thanks
Get the IAG AOS if you live in a climate that doesnt typically get to below freezing temperatures in the winter. if you do, you will need a oil catch can instead that you would empty out when you do oil changes
I have the blue tips ETS with their baby mufflers since I got the car. Must have. PErfect. Bro winding up in a parking lot leaving sounds like a high-end beefy Porche.
This exhaust would be amazing for the STI haha. Quad exhaust tips just sound way better imo, cannon sized single tip does sound great with the ejs though.
Sounds good took me so long to decide what exhaust i wanted way to many to choose from went with the awe touring cause i plan on getting a j pipe when i get it tuned an heard they make it super loud
I also chose the AWE touring, still waiting for it to ship. I was super close to getting ETS though. Either of these brands were the best sounding to me.
Sooo.. on the subject of polishing. My wife curbed my new wheel with a black lip. Got any tips for touching that up so its not the first thing you notice when you walk up to the car

I recently put the invidia N1 dual exit cat back on my 2019 WRX. Love the sound not to loud, not to quiet. Can’t wait to hear it with a J pipe.

I have a 21 with a grimmspeed high-flow cat and a remark cat back with 1 resonator and muffler deletes. Perfect volume and intensity imo.
I never understood why people like the single exit on any wrx after 2008. It looks janky with how the bumpers are shaped

I have the HKS high-power on my 2015 STI. Dual singles. Fills out the back end and sounds amazing.

I got a Borla catback on my 2017 WRX. A lot of people sleep on that one. It's one of the better ones out there IMO.

Sooo.. on the subject of polishing. My wife curbed my new wheel with a black lip. Got any tips for touching that up so its not the first thing you notice when you walk up to the car
Try and find touch up paint of the same shade, then tey using correcting compound to try and blend it 👀
