    Here's a tip for computer assembly beginners.
    1.) Look for a pre-built that's around your budget.
    2.) Match your parts to that build and study the parts if they're compatible or not, always look at the "compatibility" section of the parts.
    3.) See if your build is over or under your budget and make adjustments.
    4.) Scrap your entire idea of building your own PC and buy a pre-built anyway because most pre-built companies these days offer good warranty and coverage.

      @@Geheimnis-c2e You know what's funny? I bought a pre-built 3 years ago and they mismatched my parts so I ended up having to spend more money shipping the rig back again lol. They did cover the cost afterwards though, but man was it a waste of time.

      This advice is terrible most of everyone knows it’s better to build your pc yourself or find someone who can be they just overcharge you for it. The only way I would recommend this is if you have a lot of money or you don’t have that much time.

    • @DuhBla
      @DuhBla หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@acc6310 It absolutely depends, sometimes its cheaper to buy pre-builts. Sometimes its cheaper to build it yourself. But I don't even bother building it myself anymore because the warranty is really nice.
      The suffering of building your own PC that is, diagnosing which part is broken (if it becomes broken), contacting the company, shipping it to them, wait a few months for them to get back to you, only to tell you they don't cover your kind of damage, and shipping back the broken hardware.
      Whereas, if you bought a pre-built and its broken, just ship the whole thing to them. They get to you in a few days, they fixed it. They ship it back. Done.

    • @acc6310
      @acc6310 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@DuhBla not if you buy good parts and build it right. you should be fine for years if you do that. Prebuilts include extra cost for things that wouldn’t be there if you built it yourself. It’s really not that hard to find someone who’s good at building PCs that won’t charge you that much and It’s absolutely cheaper. your biggest point is just that if something breaks it’s easier to replace because they just ship you out a new one. That’s not good enough of a point to spend hundreds more on a pc that probably will have parts that aren’t as good as mine which will be home built.

    This info is good and all, but you also need to make sure the chipset is compatible with the CPU you’re looking to get, not just the socket. For example, I’m pretty sure Intel used 1150 and 1151 over several iterations of motherboards that had incompatible chipsets (although, I could be wrong on this) and AM4 500 series motherboards were not (at least initially) compatible with older AM4 CPUs.
    TLDR: I (personally) think it’s easier to say you should pay attention to the chipsets than the socket.

    • @edgelord3428
      @edgelord3428 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      usually the chipset supports with bios update

    • @StolenJoker84
      @StolenJoker84 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edgelord3428 The key word in your reply is “usually”, which means “not always”. Also, some motherboards require a compatible CPU installed before you can even consider updating it. This all ties into my original comment that a potential buyer needs to make sure the chipset is compatible with the CPU they’re interested in using.
      Also, to my prove my point about making sure the chipset works, we can look at Intel LGA 1151. It was introduced in 2015, and was used until 2020. But, as we know, Intel motherboards only supported 2 generations of CPU (at most) in recent years. An LGA 1151 motherboard from 2015 work with Skylake (2015) and Kabylake (2016) 1151 CPUs, but will not work with Coffelake CPUs from 2017 and newer (even though it’s still an LGA 1151 socket).

    • @ShadyHero
      @ShadyHero ปีที่แล้ว +4

      incompatible pin layouts too, the only compatible pin layouts for 1151 as far as I know are 8th and 9th gen. 6th and 7th are incompatible

    • @StolenJoker84
      @StolenJoker84 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ShadyHero From what I was reading, there are two different iterations of LGA 1151. That’s why Skylake, Kaby Lake, and Coffee Lake are all 1151 lines, but Sky/Kaby Lake are incompatible with Coffee Lake. From my understanding, they’re physically compatible, but electrically incompatible.

    There's one more thing to keep in mind: the Ryzen 1st and 2nd gen processors do not work (well) with chipsets made for the 3rd gen, even though they are AM4.
    Now, I know it's quite unlikely that people will want to be buying a 2700x in 2023, but if you do have a 2000 series Ryzen and just need a mobo replacement or something, you certainly don't wanna make the mistake of buying a B550 that you (almost) can't use.

    • @CoolArrow78233

      It mostly comes down to features you’d be giving up going with a low end vs a mid range but I understand that’s an oversimplification

    • @hadifelani
      @hadifelani ปีที่แล้ว

      Biggest difference is feature, the higher end will have more support with the latest tech.
      Second one is usually their total amount of I/O ports (USB, SATA, M.2, PCIE and whatnot), the higher end tends to have more of them.
      Third one is dependent on the brand, on Intel the CPUs can only be overclocked on Z boards. Whereas in AMD, though all of their A B and X boards do support overclocking, the CPUs tend have more stability with overclocking on the X boards.
