I absolutely love this song! This performance always moves me.
Peter Gabriel did some great solo work and his voice is great.

This is an extraordinary concert. Even if just on your own time, you should watch the whole thing. PG is an artist whose entire solo catalog is worth exploring.

That was Paula Cole with supporting vocals, I think this tour with PG was what led to her breaking out in her own right. I have heard that in African musical tradition the term "In Your Eyes" can refer to both romantic love and divine love.

What absolute joy this performance is. I saw PG on several solo tours, always stellar.

Best Blu-ray concert! Do yourself a favor and buy it for your collection. Amazing from the first note, so theatrical from A to Z. Peter Gabriel is not just music; it's every art form on stage.

This is fantastic. Love it! He grabs your heart and strums it until your soul rolls over and purrs in contentment. He is on a level with Steve Winwood in ability to lyrically elevate the listener.

The entire concert of roughly two hours is available here on TH-cam if you want to see it. It’s absolutely magnificent

Gabriel was great with Genesis. Excellent solo. Yes was one of first to tour in the round.

This was an absolutely phenomenal concert. Wish I could have seen it live. Musician friends of mine have told me that every member of his band is basically a legend in the music industry. The guy with the double violin actually built it himself.
Paula Cole was a perfect duet partner for him. As others have said, see the whole concert. Their duets together are the stuff of legend. And to think, she was a last minute replacement for Senead O'Connor.

Paula Cole is perhaps my favorite duet for Gabriel. He also does some amazing work with Laurie Anderson and Kate Bush.

Celebration. Music should always be performed with complete soul of performer no matter the genre. Paula Cole just joined the band here a week prior after Sinead O'Conner abruptly left. Gabriel lives in Africa and opened a recording studio to record local musicians.

One more remark from me: L. Shankar plays a double violin 🎻 where one is tuned European and the other is tuned Indian; so against popular assumption this is not completely African but also with a nod to India

Yes, that thing Shankar is playing is a double neck electric violin. Btw, 5 strings per neck too .....

Very astute regarding the audience surrounding you.
Theater in the round, not for the feint of heart. 🙂❤️
That was Tony Levin on bass and Manu Katché on drums. Not sure about the rest.
It's more performance here, of course, but the only gripe I have is the mixing of the drums (it's a bit thin for Manu's Yamahas) and the keys are so 80s, but the singers are amazing.
    Nice reaction, John. 🤘

Call me a bad person but after all these years I still prefer the "Live in Athens" version. With the incredible voice of Youssou N'Dour. Youssou was already heard in the studio version, even if I don't like the studio version that much.
