    I found the MT10 electronics to be abrupt and unpredictable, the Aprilia has the smoothest in the business

    I could never choose the MT-10 over the Tuono, but I respect your opinion, everyone is different! I've owned the Streetfighter V4S, and changed up for a 22 Tuono V4 Factory recently. The absolute two highlights on the Tuono that made me switch, were the chassis and engine. I'm not sure I've ever felt a better bike chassis, and the Factory even has cast wheels! It feels more nimble than the Streetfighter despite weighing more. The engine is an engineering masterwork (minus the horrible Euro 5 mess). The torque curve is phenomenal, and the sound and feel are tough to beat. The electronics package and Ohlins semi-active are also second to none for a road/track bike.

      How did you find the V4S, not ridden one. ?

      @@MOTOUK1 I loved the Streetfighter, but to get to the good stuff, you have to be at a track. The peak power kicked in well over 11k rpm so to feel it you had to break the law or be at a track. It hated low speed riding, and just like many Ducati's feels choppy and unhappy at low rpm's. Once you were out giving it a good go, it all smooths out and the bike feels fantastic. I know you said the Tuono feels "agricultural" at low RPM's, but it's smoother than the Ducati in those ranges for sure. I also wished the Ducati had a fuel gauge (still not sure why that isn't standard). Both fantastic bikes though, and if I tracked more often, I'd have kept the Ducati.

      @@bschoenecker thanks for the report, I think I would feel very much the same with the street fighter, naked bikes need low down torque so you don’t have to mail it high revs. I just don’t understand some manufacturers really, it’s a road bike so make it usable for the road. I’ve heard many prefer the V2 Streetfighter for that very same reason and the V2 Multistrada

    • @HansVanh1
      @HansVanh1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MOTOUK1 I agree. The Tuono has the character to enjoy high and low rpm... making it a motorcycle for the streets and the track. The Streetfighter V4 isn't fun on the streets, but the V2 is. The multistrada V4 has the torque where you need it, but lacks character with the original exhaust.

    I've got 2023 Tuono Factory. Easy to turn it into a sports tourer. Hepco & Becker rear plate, decent bag options up to 50l, SW Motech Pro Sports tank bag upto 22l. bar risers & heated grips
    The Aprilia engine is one of the best ever
    Done 2 big uk tours now and no issues other than less than ideal range

  • @joshr1444
    @joshr1444 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Correct in saying it feels agricultural in the lower rpms it's a pure racing machine and the harder you ride it the smoother the engine and chassis become to a point where nothing else comes close.

    Yamaha mt10 after decat/exhaust and ecu "flash" is absolutely deplorable in terms of fuel efficiency. Anyone that says they're getting 35-40mpg after these mods is absolutely full of 💩! You're either pushing it while idling in neutral or coasting for miles downhill in neutral. 1st gen mt10 still a great value here in the states but I average about 25 mpg. However I do stuff like head straight to a several mile long viaduct close to my house and send it FULL SAIL on a regular basis. 62 yrs old and I have rarely jumped off the mt10 without hitting triple digits.....and that's mph, not kph. And no, I'm not "crazy."

      I owned my MT10SP for 6 years recently sold, i had it ecu flashed after first service and noticed approx depending how i rode it 20 miles extra to a tank on a good day. Not MPG but 20 miles per tank. They are great bikes 👍

    If you disconnect the Exhaust flapper valve all the Torques are then available. I also went from 15/40 to 15/44 gearing for better acceleration on my '21 Base Model. FYI Factory is geared 15/42.

    These bikes have lots of apeal as something nicely rounded and they look the business. From a practical point of view I think the GSX1000 GT would be a more reliable choce. That said, I am completly torn on these. How does the Aprillia shape up against the VFR V4 engine. The later is a peach in many ways and it is a shame Honda ditched the format.

    Interesting observation on the power delivery down low, I have a 21 rsv4 and just added a 22 mt10 sp, I felt the opposite. I think it’s because my Aprilia is decated and tuned whereas my Yamaha is bone stock with 20 miles on the clock.

    Hi, before I bought my MT I looked at the Aprilia it was the 1000cc then(2017)looked at the KTM as well and the BMW,did not like the look of the BMW, And thought with the money I would save on the MT compared to the other two it made sense to buy the MT, After having it flashed and exhaust changed and different pads in the front, I still had money left to make it my own, compared to the new price of the other two, But we all have different tastes so I guess they are all awesome and I do believe that sports bikes are becoming a less sensible option.

    Morning nick great video as always Aprilia looks a great bike. As you know I’ve had my mt 10 tourer for over 4 years now and had no problems but I’ve just come back from a tour to France and Spain for 8 days when in Andorra on a hot day we had a coffee for 30 minutes went back to ride and my keys wouldn’t turn the ignition on all 5 of us lads couldn’t get it to start after 20 minutes one lad come back with lube from a shop we put it on the key and tried for another 10 minutes until it finally turned the ignition on I don’t know if it had anything to do with the rain and sun over the days but if we didn’t get the lube I don’t think the bike would of stared if we hadn’t been near a shop I think I would of been stranded waiting for the rac I know it’s a long story but it’s mite happen to someone else with a mt 10 and thought this text would help someone else thanks

I wonder if water is going to bottom of the key barrel ? I will get some lube in now and pack it with some grease. In a way I’m happy not to be taking mine on the europe trip as have something on the way that’s more comfy 👍 thanks for tuning in Steve.
