@@JJ-nm8sh well based on my skill level I wouldn’t say there was a huge improvement but that said you can notice the difference between the softest setting and the hardest for sure. If I were to buy another Tuono in the future I’d go with the base model Vs the Factory and save some money but that’s primarily because I don’t do any track riding.
The answer to the tuono’s urgency on road and compared to the KTM SD is increase the number of rear teeth on the rear sprocket by 2-3 it means each gear is shorter meaning you get the extra urgency especially at lower speeds and you can enjoy changing gears and the quick change/auto blipper much more. Really transforms the rsv4 and tuono… especially as the tuono factory is quite a bit cheaper than the KTM SD especially when you pay for the tech pack to get the blipper etc
I own a 2020 model. Best bike I’ve ever ridden/owned. I did test ride a 2020 Super duke r but fell for the Tuono instantly. Coming from a superbike it made sense and fitted my riding style better. However test riding a Tuono behind some chap on a touring bike is never going to show its full potential, it must have been so frustrating for you? Tip to anyone thinking of buying a Tuono… Leave the anti wheelie off at all times, you just need good throttle control or just buy a 600 instead lol!
🤣 I have nothing to prove to you believe what you want mate. All I’d say is from watching you ride your old cbr1100 that you’re a slow rider and that bikes probably more than you can handle let alone a Super duke r 🤪
I ride a Tuono v4 1000 to a Superduke test ride. Concluded exactly, precisely as you did. Traded poise and high rpm seductiveness of Tuono for punch at any rpm and rowdy road fun of the KTM. Ergos are more relaxed and it will take big bumps well too. You have to ride the Tuono fast to find its sweet spot. Both great.
I would love to take one for a test ride but the nearest dealer is 1200kms away! From all reports, this is a terrific bike to have a lot of fun with. Really appreciate the effort made with your reviews brother. A big G'day from Oz mate.
Having sold my '19 Tuono Factory for this Superduke the first time I rode it, I could not agree more with your summary mate. This bike is better in every possible sense on the road and you can't stop giggling every time you twist the throttle regardless of speed or revs. Those that insist the Tuono is better haven't ridden both back to back on the road or aren't pure bikers in the sense of riding bikes for the smile on your face.
@@AngelSapundzhiev ride them back to back and make your own mind up then. I've owned both for extended periods of time. Reviews are never fully objective, especially not MCN! And yes I've been around bikes a long time and race them just the same as he does bro.
@@johnm6683 I'm on the '20 SDR and couldn't agree with you more mate, I'm constantly screaming and shouting inside my helmet when riding it. It's such a laugh. Yes the tuono might be a slightly better track bike when you're always in the top end of the rev range but if that's what you want then there are better pure track bikes. For road riding the KTM is the pinnacle of biking shit-your-pants lunacy in any gear at any revs. No other bike will put a bigger smile on your face.
Had both the older models. Prefer the dynamics of the Tuono more personally. I’d love to revisit the new SDR though. Tuono always benefit gearing down slightly. The basics of the confidence at speed I prefer and the power seems relentless compared. I guess due to the available rpm. Sdr definitely better in traffic. Adjust the steering lock to max, runs much cooler and better downward shrouded fans. Tuono runs damn hot and have wired in a third fan. I prefer the Ohlins, adjusted right it’s great. For my ride in a country at medium speeds with less speed limits I’m still in honeymoon with the Tuono.
Looks like a MOTO GUZZI that pulled away first, same family as the Aprilia. Aprilia tuono all day long, still the best soundtrack, and super naked ever. Long live the Aprilia v4's. And you had a good look at the blonde lady at the start.❤❤
I've changed my 2016 Tuono for a 2020 SD GT. I appreciate the comfort but still miss the V4. I have to admit the 2021 SDR is better then the 2020 SDR, but I still like the Tuono more. But the SD GT comes very close.
The tuono does everything well until you ride it back to back with the superduke a few times. Then you realise that the superduke just does it slightly better and puts a huge smile on your face at the same time. P.S I sold my '19 Tuono Factory for the KTM and never regret it so I know what they're like in the real world.
I almost bought a 1000 v4 Tuono a few years ago. That was an awesome bike too, not much different in reality. I love the v4 engine but it's a bit too much for the road. Shame the baby Tuono isn't a v4, now that would get my interest!
I'm determined to revisit the Tuono this year. Sadly this video was done in a controlled group with slightly lower speeds than are necessary to get a feel for the Tuono. I'm riding the base one for a week or 2 in May...
OK internet calm down, you could argue it's a sportsbike with flat bars… but I'm not inventing a category for one bike when it clearly competes with the likes of the Super Duke and the Ducati Streetfighter on price, riding style etc.
Great review. I’ve owned 2 of these bikes, 2016 and 2019 models and your comments are spot on. The sound is intoxicating!
How much would you say the semi active sus on the 19 made a difference?

SuperDuke 1290, to much bike for you, true?
@@Big1_ Coming from a superbike the Tuono suited my riding position more. The super duke is a great bike and no it wasn’t too much for me 😆.

Did no one notice the chap almost drop the bike in the background during the opening?
Comedy sidestand
Good spot. I missed that. How embarrassing if he actually dropped it.
Nice bike. Curious if you have had a chance to ride the new S1000R.
Awesome review but no Super duke, looks as good as a Tuono or sounds like one 😎 KTMs look like Lego 😅
I think Tim likes the super duke...☺️ nice review..
Both Superduke and tuono are legendery motorcycles but for the road I really think the superduke has bit more giggle factor
Not when you pin it! It's like a noodle compared to the razor chassis of the Tuono!

Has anyone come across heated grips for the 21 Tuono yet?

Worst review I've ever watched, you were riding an aprilia but spent all your time talking up the superduke

Haha well spotted, I’ve never seen that
Get rid of all that Crome, and take my money

It simply isn’t naked
I’m sure it’s a great bike
I think the RSV4 makes more sense than this
Don't you have to be a naked bike to be the best naked bike?
