      Is it possible that the two murders are linked ~I mean could the Father of the 2nd murder be the Store Manager who had an affair with Lisa? It's possible he was feeling guilty and upon realizing she was pregnant he'd be in a complex situation emotionally: He could of went home and killed his family b4 offing himself with the Gardening Hose & the whole Umbilical Cord thing could just be referencing his ties to the fetus in the bathroom.... Which would also explain why the Fetus isn't sure if you're his father if you catch my drift..... Idk I'm super tired right now I got to look at the dates and go through this / but just tossing it out there if anyone ells want's to look into it as well

      ***** Yeah a bad theory since Hideo Kojima left & Konami still owns the rights of the game.
      Konami may try to make the game without Kojima, but it would most likely be a flop... And it's not likely to be anything like the Silent Hills we would of got with Kojima working on the project.

    Things I have noticed about P.T. that no one else seems to be saying:
    1.) Lisa has dimples. (Which pretty much proves that she's the woman in the pictures to me at least.)
    2.) When you stand still, your character sort of sways and lurches a little bit, almost like he's drunk.
    3.) There are 3,000 dash marks in the concrete room. (There are 75 rows that go 8 down, and of course dashes are grouped in 5, that I counted. Feel free to double check that on your own.) If the dashes represents days, that's a bit over 8 years.

      Noticed this exact thing today playing PT for my first time. You also hear the breathing voice over the phone/radio at times when you stand still. You also can hear strange sounds that sound like they're being "shut down" like a computer or TV set in the middle of speaking. Also the Talking bag, and the fetus talking in the same voice.
      I also heard a bit of Latin, or Hebrew on the radios, phone, and when the games sequences trigger. This playable teaser is way more than what it is on the surface.

    Well, I read somewhere that the message at the end of PT is possibly a hint from Hideo Kojima that he's getting fired by Konami
    “… one day he goes and kills us all. He couldn't even be original about the way he did it. But that's ok, I was dying of boredom anyway. But guess what, I will be coming back. And I'm bringing my new toys with me.”
    Given Kojima’s situation, Konami fired him, he was bored with the work anyway, and he plans on coming back with a new publisher and new ideas. That's the theory anyway.

    • @charliechan6892
      @charliechan6892 9 ปีที่แล้ว +71

      They fired him for I believe asking too much money for this project.
      many believe the ending referred to making fun of first person horror games and how popular and overdone they've become, which kojima wanted to bring something new to the table.
      others believe it's just about story, but it is kojima so you never know.

    • @Stewie1239

      +Dev n
      Altough I didn't follow the whole procedure, but as I recall Kojima not only had budget issues with konami but other legal issues as well. Also some magazines said that he even had personal arguements with konamis men. However, the quote could be about Kojima himself, because Silent Hills' story is still in his and in Del Toro's head, which is not copyrighted by konami, unlike the title 'Silent Hill'. (Note: I'm no lawyer, and I don't have a single clue ho this shit works, but the title Silent Hills might be "uaseable" for Kojima later on, since konami only owns the singular title version.) People have faith in Kojima, konami was stupid letting him go, sadly they only wanted to focus on slot machines, because the majority of their income was from these machines. So eventhough Kojima is not employed at a publisher, it doesn't mean he can't creat and publish stuff. Hell I would just read the story of Silent Hills if he and Del Toro writes in the form of a book.

"Dad" could symbolicly meant they helped him grow into the Dev. It is a parents role to make sure they can thrive... there's a dual meaning there though how did it relate to silent hills? i know right?
      it could’ve been the literally best game konami ever made, but something tells me they knew that so they couldn’t let it happen, sucks a ton, even more since i was really excited for this as a concept, it seemed downright interesting, there’s plenty of mystery in the demo alone, you can only imagine what kinda mystery could’ve come from the full product if it was made, in fact i was saving towards a ps4 after i found out about this game, but before i had enough for it the game got canceled, plenty of other games did make me get a ps4 in the long run however i would’ve killed to get this game to be real, the world is a sadder place for not having such an amazing sounding game and concept, maybe it’ll be brought back somehow, but i kinda doubt it, the only hope is death stranding will be good enough to fill the void of silent hill that konami killed.

    Something interesting that I'm sure people have heard of by now but I just recently noticed, is that the guy on the radio says the eerily specific detail in which the father lured his daughter out of the bathroom by telling her it was just a game... Which suggests that the man from the radio is the father/killer in that case. I mean unless the house had audio/video tape evidence of this situation going down, there's no way anyone could know what he said to his daughter unless he was the one who did it himself.
    ...Then again the father could have just confessed that detail too...
    Ah well, still interesting.

    This is going to sound like a dumb idea but Norman looks nothing like the husband so what if silent hills isn't about your character learning a lesson but rather the character is trying to escape silent hill and every monster you encounter has a backstory. For example: Lisa is just a monster that captures you and tortures you because she thinks you're her husband who killed her. Throughout the game you encounter dozens of monsters that you can learn the backstory to by exploring silent hill. each monster looks and acts different and each monster has different puzzles. It's a dumb idea but it would explain why Norman looks nothing like the husband and why the game is called Silent Hills. Rather than one person experiencing silent hill, they have to experience dozens of silent hills because of the monsters.

    • @brendanj3819
      @brendanj3819 9 ปีที่แล้ว +107

      Exactly! That's almost precisely my theory of what Silent Hills will be about, given the themes presented in PT. Since we're clearly playing as Norman's character, "the protagonist," and not some crazy guy who killed his family, it would mean he's experiencing someone else's Hell/Silent Hill. I think it would make for a very interesting game to have each major area carry its own backstory as the protagonist navigates a different hell.

    • @WorldsFattestRobot
      @WorldsFattestRobot 9 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      That would be very strange; the idea reminds me of boss-centric games like old Treasure games and SOTC (or even LISA, where each enemy encounter uses at least one unique character).
      It would be a game where essentially each of the enemies is an antagonist, with their own character and surrounding portion of the story, rather than a type of enemy. I would be very interested if a story-centric horror game tried for that.
      I mean, I guess Outlast had a lot of different and recurring antagonists, but they were more like bosses you evaded/killed at the peaks of their levels (rather than something that heavily affected the overall plot, and changed the structure of that portion of the game.)
      And, Outlast still had a few generic patients to run/hide from, in between the boss-chases.

    I'd like to hear more about the cockroaches.
    - They are all over the place,
    - The two cockroaches in the concrete room when you wake up is mating (they are stuck to each other at their behinds).
    - Sometimes it looks like they are possibly guiding the player through the early parts of the game. Maybe it's just a trick the designers are using to guide the players attention, like placing a cockroach at eye level by the bathroom door to draw your attention to the door. Or the cockroaches have a deeper meaning than that.
    - They are clearly afraid of what is inside the bathroom just before Lisa shuts the door when you peek in. They scurry out of the gap in the door, from the dark bathroom to the lit hallway.

    • @skylerwhite3427

    • @il-ma.le.
      @il-ma.le. ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Scurrying through theories it went pointed out that cockroaches are indicator of filth in general but of malevolent spirits in your house if you're into the thing.
      People who claim to have an entity called the 'Hat Man' paying them a visit recalled a sensation of filth in his presence along with the inability to move. But like the entity in itself, this may as well be only suggestion.
      Also, two cockroaches may be mating or may be joined like siamese brothers to indicate the 'Jeykill&Hyde' condition of the playable character, who may really be the husband in the photos at the condition he was into dying his hair at the time of the wedding, the same way brillantine was a thing at Elvis' times. And Reedus' appearance does fit well with a man who slowly lets himself die in beer.

  • @SirSolidus5nake
    @SirSolidus5nake 9 ปีที่แล้ว +86

    When I initially heard the belt buckle and zip undo, it made me think that a rape is taking place of some sorts. What if, with Lisa working as a cashier and how her boss likes how she looks in a skirt, he made an advance too far and got her pregnant. Her husband who hears voices in his head, knows of Lisa’s boss and his advances, she falls pregnant and he fears an affair has taken place. The voice convinces the husband to kill Lisa and their kids.
    Killing anyone is bad enough, even if an affair has taken place. But what if Lisa was a victim of rape, her husband couldn’t see past that and killed her anyway. If spirits exist (and I believe they do), you’d be pissed if you got murdered. But image how pissed (in this case Lisa) you’d be if you got raped, fell pregnant and you got killed by the man you love as a result? Lisa was tormented before death and following being a victim of rape and then murder (not to mention the loss of your children), she would make for one hell of a tormented soul.

    Actually, I'd say that, in the beginning report, the reporter is not a regular person. There's always one line that makes me double-take because there's no way anyone (alive) would have this knowledge. Specifically, the part about the dad luring his daughter out of the bathroom by telling her it was a game. Logically, there's absolutely no way for the police to know that. There's no way for the police to know she fled to the bathroom either. If she left the bathroom willingly, it just looks like the dad walked by the bathroom, saw her in there, and shot her.
    The only people who would know that he lured her out would be...the dad and the daughter. (And, I guess, Lisa and her son--if they were somehow still alive and able to listen to all that happening.) So, I'd guess that even this reporter voice is also intended to mess and unnerve the player.

      FemCollective true, but remember that the father is still alive at the end of the radio broadcast. "Police arriving on-scene after neighbors called 911 found the father in his car, listening to the radio." because of the note from the father above the loop door expressing regret with what he did ("Forgive me, Lisa. There's a monster inside of me"), it's entirely possible the father came clean with police investigators and told them what happened. it may be the case that the 'strange spell' he was under was released after he committed the murders, but remembers all of the events and regrets them.

    • @FemCollective
      @FemCollective 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      True! I didn't think of the father telling everything, but the wording of the beginning of the radio report ("We regret to report the murder...") implies that this is breaking news. And if it's breaking news, it makes the explicit detail of the report even more strange, since such detail is rarely available (especially if this was X amount of years in the past).

    • @WorldsFattestRobot
      @WorldsFattestRobot 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think the first radio broadcast is one closest to "reality" (the original broadcast about the murder), but still distorted by the fact that the protagonist is hearing it in this loop, this construct from another level of existence.
      It's actually one of the creepiest parts of PT; the idea of spirits and demons talking through something we communicate with. It's very corny and seance-y sounding, but PT presents it very well (in both the writing of the game, and the way it plays out in the game).
      There is something very sinister about the idea of a public broadcast suddenly addressing you specifically, going insanely off-script, or encouraging terrible acts.
      It both suggests hallucinations and, as the video says, that the world of the dead is leaking into this hallway-loop. That it may be leaking into reality and influencing the men mentioned in the broadcasts to kill their beloved.

    • @GEhotpants101
      @GEhotpants101 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      FemCollective He could have told the police that, since they found him out in the car. (I might be mixing up my murders since there were a couple, though.) Although, I'm not sure why they'd release that to the press, since in the context of the broadcast, it seems like they're talking about it like it's at least recent, and most likely a case for it would still be going on, and they wouldn't release the full report with information like that until _after_ the case is closed. Judging by how they talk about it in the broadcast, it's probably not closed yet. This supports your idea, actually, even though the police _could_ have gotten that information. I think that voice is the one that's trying to get you to trust it the most by sounding as close to reality as possible.

      Lisa Lucente I knew it was a shame when that was announced because this Teaser was clearly well crafted and it implied that the final game would be at least somewhat well crafted as a result, which is a step up from many of the recent Silent Hill games. But after watching this video and learning the amount of depth that went into nearly every aspect of it, the cancellation comes as a crying shame and the outright murder of art.

    I think the writing on Lisa's picture is meant to imply that the ghost Lisa is really just Silent Hill, and the real Lisa has already forgiven her husband and wants him to escape his torment, calling out to him to help him escape.
    I think the Norman Reedus character might be trapped in Silent Hill, going through other people's trauma rather than his own, and that the real husband of Lisa has already completed his trial and escaped.

    I haven't noticed it, so I hope I'm not mentioning something you've already covered somewhere, but a fairly big theme I'm seeing is decay.
    Cockroaches are associated with rot and decay
    The house seems to get dirtier and full of garbage, slowly decaying with the loops
    The scene in the red hallway, the radio talks about how society is "rotten to the core"
    The family likely started having trouble due to dad's drinking and Mom working, falling apart.
    Also a small side note, if Lisa was possibly being critical of her husband, that might explain the eye gouged out. To stop her judging him. But then again, maybe she wasn't critical at all, but he became paranoid, and felt like she was.
    Dunno. Just a couple of thoughts I had.
    Looking forward to the podcast!

    I realized a few stuffs. NEW THEORIES.. I think it makes sense, take a look :D
    1- at 23:00 when he is talking about the umbilical cord, where is the only place you can hang yourself with a umbilical cord? Only one place that it is possible is inside the womb. Who was inside the womb? The fetus.
    2- The voice on the radio? Looks a lot like the fetus voice. Also, the gap in the door, if you take a peek, before Lisa show up, who do you see? The fetus!
    3- Why is he in the sink? Probably the father rip him of and throw him there, that is why Lisa has a huge cut under her belly, he was taken out of her by force. The fetus was manipulating the father to kill the mother and get him out of her.
    4- Why he has to test you for you to be chosen? He is also manipulating you, that is WHY he laughs when you do what he tells you to do, and than chooses you. PT showed that YOU, the player, can also obey any order as the fetus did to his father.
    5- The name, is probably the fetus name, no one else.
    6- Why is the Fetus the only thing inside the house that is totally out of normal shapes from our ordinary world? He looks like a weird creature, or an alien. EVERYTHING else looks common, even Lisa, she is just an ordinary woman, dead, but normal. Maybe the baby was conceived in silent hill, that is why it is so weird? Or from a ritual, from something weird, I think that the baby was not going to be something normal or good.
    7- Maybe Lisa is trying to stop you from obeying the baby and the baby tries to stop her. The moment when you are inside the bathroom
    8- This is cool. At the red and fast hallway, at 7:30, the reason that the bathtub has no water, is because the murderer still didn't happen, that is why the fetus is also not there. After you take a peek at the hole, the water AND fetus are going to be there, because it already happened. And before it happened, the fetus voice comes on the radio, after, he talks to you right in front of you. O.O Bizarre
    9- By the end, the last voice, I don't think it is the son, it is the Fetus, maybe this radio noises is to show the communications transaction an its power. The way it talk, making fun from the father.
    - - Now it is going to get a little crazier, but I think most of it is possible - -
    10- Maybe, the one who has the monster inside of her, is the Mother. Maybe she wrote that on the wall, will make sense on the next part.
    12- I think there are TWO babies, maybe Lisa was one of the tween fetus, think about it, there is a crazy crying baby inside the fridge, maybe this one is the good baby (I am not persisting on it being Lisa, just an idea) Also, the bag inside the first room, maybe that is the other fetus.
    12- Maybe the cockroach are from the evil fetus trying to silence the other fetus, that is why on the trailer there are lots of cockroach around it. This can be confusing, but maybe "The only me is me, are you sure that the only you is you" thing is about twins?
    13- The voice at the end might be from the evil fetus, and the one that said to kill the mother, was the "good" one, to protect the world? That is why the last fetus is so mad that the father killed them all, but he is confident that he will be coming back!
    14- About the 204863 thing, it can be only about his birthday, remember that at the time nobody knew who was the developers, so it may be just an advice, the weird thing it that it is repeated a lot in the game to be just that. Maybe 7783s studio is not Trees, but Hills.. Also maybe just an advice for people to find out or create suspicious.
    These aren't crazy ideas, maybe we could work out on it. I think there are a few crazy things, but lots of things seems pretty plausible

    • @renatoaruffo
      @renatoaruffo 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      -The "You have been chosen" is like a duo voice, so the one that called is inside the house. Obviously it is the fetus.
      -Another stuffs I saw tho reinforce this twin theory, the cockroaches glued together at the beginning?
      -Also, does anyone have any idea who the people in the pictures are? In real life I mean.
      -Maybe the ghost is not even the girl in the pictures, maybe it is just the spirit that manipulates the player and the father, a ghost that passed through everything Lisa just passed through. Maybe the mass murderer 20 years ago was inside that house? And this ghost is the first dead woman.

      +Brendan McDonald no just no theres a few points that made sense though how ever the fact is that there were four murders we only know the motive of one and that was the fact that the father thought she was cheating and that was the boss baby. If the fetus was in the paper bag theres two things wrong with that one the bag said "I walked I can do nothing but walk" a fetus isn't walking bro. ACCORDING TO THE SIZE AND WHAT IT SAID its a leg it can see itself but it wasn't it. with the relevance to the roach at the beginning it could be a roach. secondly Why haven't any of you considered the lunch making and the lunch bag connection... also the roach at the beginning indicates theres something wrong with reality maybe its "mixed"

    In Silent Hill the radio plays a big role throughout the game. Mainly because sometimes there are voices which can be heard and the radio can even tell you when monsters are nearby. It's not surprising that in P.T. the radio is messing with the player though! It's really neat how Kojima was able to fiddle around with it's role in P.T.

    I have a strong theory as to how this game was going to play out.
    The Theory: You play as Norman Reeves as he goes across several different versions of Silent Hills as channeling through different people and their nightmares.
    The Evidence that support this:
    1. Reeves does not look like Lisa's husband, yet he is being treated as such the moment he is in the hallway. Reeves is refereed to as a separate entity ONLY when he is in the concrete room and outside.
    2. The Bag, the bag that speaks to you says "The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?" Implying that there are several different versions of you and that when you walk through that "inter dimensional" door (again as stated by the bag), you become a different person.
    3. The title "Silent Hills" refers to the fact that there would be several versions of a single Silent Hill. One of the common theme for a single protagonist in a Silent Hill game is to have a unique look of Silent Hill. The "only" way to see a different version of Silent Hill is to look through someone else's eyes. If Reeves was traveling through different versions of Silent Hill, he would have to channel himself into several different people. All of which have their own horror.
    4. Kojima said himself that the game would be unlike the demo. Almost stating that it'll be only a small part or irrelevant to the bigger plot.
    So far nothing I can think of can discredit this theory. This demo plays as a part of what Reeves has to go through; living through the Lisa's husband's nightmare. Gameplay wise it'll be great, story wise it is easy to construct, and in terms of in game lore it can be a brand new way in solving a big mystery. Each smaller nightmare tells the story of the big mystery behind... ermmm.... whatever the big mystery was going to be... (perhaps the string of Familicide or something something Aliens as hinted by the Swedish ghost. Hey maybe that was going to be part of the multiple endings! Aliens from 75 years ago!)
    Another Weaker theory I have is the idea that whatever Lisa cut out of Reeves, was the demon that the husband had within him (Tieing to the "Forgive me Lisa, there is a monster inside of me). The bag on the table, was the demon that resided in the husband. This demon, although inside of him speaks to the husband via radio. It can only be heard by the husband, and since Reeves is channeling through the husband, he can thus hear the demon on the radio.

      +CyberMario I was thinking the same thing, that for some reason you are investigating the events of lisa's murder through reedus and that you aren't the husband but everyone sees you that way. Which is why the fetus talks about the father like it's you, and why lisa is attacking you. However i think the bag is the one making you do it, and is using his cockroaches to help you when he can. Since everytime lisa runs away from you there are cockroaches, they are there everytime she flees, the only other time they are there is when the lead you to clues. The only reason why i think the bag chose cockroaches is because generally women are seen as the ones afraid of them, so it woulsd tand to reason that the wife would flee from them especially if they are being controlled by an opposing spirit or force.

    • @shoezomaku
      @shoezomaku 9 ปีที่แล้ว

If they're able to they'll likely do it (except maybe Kojima since he hasn't talked about it since the departure from Konami) because Guillermo Del Toro and Norman Reedus have both said they want to continue working on it. Even if it's not Silent Hills they end up making they could make an entirely new IP using the story elements from P.T. just removing anything it had to do with the Silent Hill series.

      ALSO, I just wanted to add (and this might be completely random, but I thought I'd share anyway) There's a movie called The Awakening (made in 2011, written and directed by Nick Murphy) --- SPOILERS TO FOLLOW //////
      //////
      So there's a movie called The Awakening, and it's about a woman in 1921, who, after her love dies in WWI, becomes a paranormal investigator. Her main purpose is to prove it's all a hoax, but obviously she finds a real ghost by the end of this movie. She has fractured memories of her childhood, believing that she was attacked by a Lion in Africa as a child, and that the natives there named her "Mawa Zee". By the end of the movie we find out that she was not, in fact, attacked by a lion ;. her father, using a shotgun, murders his wife and her little half-brother. She only escapes being murdered too by hiding in an almost maze-like corridor between the wall while her father calls to her using his special nickname for her, "his little mousie" (And it's British English so it sounds a lot like "Mau-ze" or "Mawa Zee"). While he's looking for her in the wall, he calls to her, saying things like, "You think I don't know where my little mousie hides herself all day?" and, now his voice breaking, "I really am sorry!" and "I will find you, darling. You have to go with mummy now!"//////
      ////////
      ANOTHER interesting link between The Awakening and PT is that during the final revelation, when the main character finally remembers her traumatic past, she sees a flashback of herself as a child, with her father pointing his shotgun directly at her chest as she stands in front of her dying mother. Her father is screaming at her, telling her "You can't help mummy now!" The main character tries to run away from the flashback several times, but each time she runs out the door, she just goes back into the same room to find the same flashback, and when she stops in the door frame, horrified, you can still see the flash back happening behind her even as it happens again in front of her.

      Now straight up, I do not know a lot about Kojima, but I DO know a lot about Guillermo Del Toro's body of work (which I have been very disappointing to see that most PT theorists have not spoken about him) Del Toro digs a good ghost story (as seen not only in some of his writing, but in the movies he chooses to produce, such as Mama (2013)), and if anybody has ever seen The Devil's Backbone (2001) they might think, as I do, . that The Awakening is right up his alley ((Irrelevant to this but interesting to me, The Devil's Backbone is set within a few years of Pan's Labyrinth: During the Spanish Civil War / WWII)). ///// ////// Here's a clip from a NYTimes review of The Devil's Backbone, "The director, Guillermo del Toro, balances dread with tenderness, and refracts the terror and sadness of the time through the eyes of a young boy, who only half-understands what . he is witnessing ". TO ME, this really Resonates with some of the things we See in PT //// //// Also, this is from a review of the movie on a message board about Spina Bifida:" ACCORDING to the DVD commentary, del Toro is uncomfortable with writing dialogue. He prefers Images. [...] Del Toro talks about the repetition of images and that this movie is meant to be visual poetry. //// //// "The movie begins with images that we do not completely understand and words that set up a mystery:??.. 'What is a ghost A tragedy condemned to repeat itself time and again An instant of pain perhaps Something dead which still seems to be alive An emotion suspended in time. Like a blurred photograph. Like an insect taped in amber. '////// ////// "The devil's backbone [...] is what superstitious villagers call fetuses with spina bifida. If you're not familiar with the developmental birth defect, it is the incomplete closure of embryonic neural tube. The spinal cord is incompletely formed and the vertebrae is not fully formed and remains unfused and open. The spinal cord protrudes through the opening in the bones . [...] [T] he preserved fetuses are embalmed in spices and rum, and the rum is believed to cure various ailments, most importantly impotence. "

      The style in which Guillermo tells ghost stories is ALL OVER this game and I would love to hear more about him and his horror work-- which is an amazing and beautiful body of stories and images. I've already talked about Guillermo's love of imagery over dialogue, but it can not hurt to mention that he is an incredibly gifted artist. Totally look up his sketchbook / notebook pages, because they never fail to mesmerize me. ////// ////// Also, I mentioned the movie Mama, (written by Andres and Barbara Muschietti);. Thought Guillermo did not write it, he did find the short film and go through a lot of trouble to help make it into a feature film The short film had no explanation or back story of any kind;. it was really just a scene, so it needed a LOT of fleshing out That fleshing out includes an opening scene where a man who has just murdered his wife in a fit of madness brings his too very young girls out to a cabin, where he plans to murder them as well as himself. The children, however, it is saved by a very Yurei like ghost .

    So supposedly P.T takes place on my birthday. Fucking fantastic. lol. Well, it only helps with the immersion, since I grew up during this same timeline and general type of setting/household, alcoholism and such included. Glad my father wasn't around rather than going postal on us. Fun times. I do think that P.T is/was separate from Silent Hills though. I think the idea was mainly just to showcase the idea that Kojima can do horror, and he can do it well, as well as showing that he can take a more concise and subtle approach to storytelling with the environment, rather than his typical MO with Metal Gear and Policenauts. The very fact that his name only shows up once P.T is complete kinda says as much, as the idea is to get the merits of the experience into the player's mind first, before it is relieved who is really responsible for developing the game, that way they go "No way, that guy who typically does stealth action and really campy cutscene heavy stories did this!?" putting to rest doubts before they have them. It is possible that they may have tied P.T into Silent Hills, but I think that the message at the end was there at the very least, to allow leeway, in case they decided to go a completely different direction later on in the development, but also because even if the story and atmosphereic elements and themes remained the same, I believe that Silent Hills would have had a completely different gameplay style, and so he didn't want people to think that P.T was a direct demo of the gameplay that Silent Hills would have to offer. If MGSV has anything to say, it's that with the invention of the Fox Engine, Kojima had no intention to do things simple, or by the book, he wants to really toy with what we've come to expect with gaming, And I fell like up until all this Konami business, he was going to go on a warpath, and really do something special, and memorable with these two games. Now just The Phantom Pain will have to provide that for us. R.I.P Silent Hills, we hardly knew ye.

    One small thing - the player character's jacket, while just an ordinary leather jacket, is also identical to the one worn by Bobby Briggs in Twin Peaks (the wrist zippers are part of one of his distinctive tics in season one, zipping them back and forth rapidly when stressed).

    Also, we cannot forget that in Silent Hill Games, the static usually means a monster is nearby. I think when we hear this static, the person speaking on the radio is not only a monster, but possibly communicating through a ghost like world.

    Why aren't you guys uploading more? Like theories and analysis videos from other gaming series. Because let's face it,your way of presenting your theories with evidence and facts from the source material is amazing.
    Whatever you guys have planned for this channels future,I'll be there to support,as well as other long time subscribers like me.

      Because our way of presenting our theories with evidence and facts from the source material, along with all that slick editing, kinda takes a lot of time! Lots of research, writing, and fact-checking, along with text editing to make sure we don't sound like know-it-all jerks :) Plus Bob, the main video editor, who also wrote the most material for the P.T. episodes, has a 9-to-5 job as well! Quality takes a lot of time and effort!
      If you mean more theories about other game series: We're just not really into other game series. We're Silent Hill nerds more than anything else. If we made videos about other games that we weren't into, we wouldn't be able to make in-depth videos like this, due to lack of knowledge and interest in those franchises.

    The part I found interesting is that you guys mentioned the error screen saying that this game is purely fictional and the father lying to his daughter saying this is a game to kill her. This also connects with what we later learned after the cancellation of the game that Kojima wanted to scare us in the real world as well by having us provide phone numbers and/or emails

      I personally think Del Toro will stay on, from what I've heard/read it seems that Del Toro did most of the scares and 'plot' elements of PT, with the help of Kojima. And I think Lisa was all Del Toro's idea while Kojima did the "tin foil hat wearing" radio broadcasts and 4th wall breaking.

    • @nolanoatmeal5116
      @nolanoatmeal5116 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great work guys. Curious to potentially hear more about your take on the hanging fridge on the podcast. I never noticed that line about the husband hanging himself with an umbilical cord before, so hearing that while watching the fridge dangle and the baby cry in this vid made me realize how much like a womb it is. The blood pouring out of it would signify Lisa's gun wound.
    That inverted negative of a tunnel hanging on the wall got me thinking about what other general birthing symbolism there might be in P.T. too, and how it reflects the player character's own "birth" into the world of Silent Hills.

    I know it’s 2018 and somebody probably already thought of this but maybe Norman Reedus’ character is the manager. He got Lisa pregnant, the husband finds out and murders them(with the help of the radio). This explains why Lisa would want to torture him because she blames him.
