When i was playing at one point the door leading to the loop door just closed and i couldn't get it to open.This happen to any one else.Another thing i found is that the demonic voice (at the loop with the bloody fridge) is Swedish and after much searching and translating it turned out to be a war of the worlds reference which its self is a reference to the alien ending in silent hill 2.Finally i found out 204863 is a genome found in blackcotton wood which was the first tree to have its genome mapped (and also the stump which P.T is written on) this genome infects tap water through the roots of the tree and drives people mad and kills them. Hence you cant trust the tap water.

You stab the wedding picture because Lisa and Johnny never got married. There's a fetus in the sink because Johnny thought Lisa was pregnant. The references to fathers killing their children is all because Johnny feels guilty about abandoning Denny by killing himself. The refrigerator full of blood is Johnny and Mark's friendship, once it was his life, but now it's cold and dead. (There's even a baby laughing, the death of that innocent relationship they had.) Hearing the woman get murdered when you look through the peep hole is "ahll keel youuu mosther fuukuurrr," replaying for eternity in his mind. That's it. It's all solved now. Go home everyone, we cracked the code.
When I first played this, I noticed something so when you "finish the game" the first time, you get sent back to the room with the door right? Now other than the bag there's another secret, if you stand there for enough time you can hear a scratching on the wall, like chalk against the wall. As you notice there are a crap ton of marks on the wall. If you remember what the "bag" said it says "I saw me... walking infront of me, but it wasn't me... are you sure that you are you...?" Interesting... I also noticed something else. When you go to the bathroom there is a hole in the tile where the shower is and every once in awhile there will be an eye looking back at you, then it goes away. Later on when your tripping out and running really fast through the eyeball photos corridor thing you will notice that the only way to get out of this loop is to look into a peep hole into the bathroom. Where your hearing a murder take place, probably the murder of lisa or something. The eyeball looking at you through the peep hole is you looking into the bathroom through the peep hole. Pretty interesting stuff.
TheGrateDebate Here's another mind blowing theory (not mine). At the beginning everyone hears the baby crying and tries to open the bathroom door, but it's locked. When you get the flashlight you get locked into the bathroom. The baby starts crying and you hear steps from outside the door, and then someone's trying to open the door, but it's locked. Guess who's that? Imo someone who was looping through the corridor a bit earlier... You don't hear the ghosts when they walk, do you? "Watch out, the gap in the door, it's a separate reality." :)))))

Perhaps 51 hallways is another clue that 204863 is in fact Kojima's birthday. I mean he just recently turned 51 this past month. If this is the case then maybe you start the first hallway in the year 1963, and every time you pass through the hallway you add another year until you get to present day. That could also mean that the character has been stuck in this loop for 51 years to unlock the mystery.

I kind of doubt that, but not for the same reason as the other person. The 51 hallways may be a reference to Kojima's birthday, however, the glitch message implies that the game itself was made for the person playing it - as if you directly assume the roll of the murderous father - and that it was found 20 years after it happened. Contact me. -J" Knowing the nature of Silent Hill and the sort of vengeful specters it attracts, it's not out of the ordinary to think it could create the game, and put it prominently where the target would find it, and use it as a taunting invitation to Silent Hill itself.
I am loving P.T. because of the elements it shares with Silent Hill 4. I always found Henry's apartment to be downright creepy because you'll never know if there will be a new haunting in the apartment when you return to it. Silent Hill 4 was my favourite game in the Silent Hill series, so I really hope that Kojima takes elements of that into the new game.
Silent hill 4s only fault was how cheap konami became with team silent. Sh4 had good and bad points but I loved the game and it was in my opinion the creepiest of them all. Kojima is definitely taking inspiration from the original 4 games and four in particular with the first person view which puts the hauntings uncomfortably close to the player, and even the look of the ghost looks very sh4 :)
I respect your opinion but I got nothing out of 4. The room was a great premise but it never got fleshed out. They throw a lot more intense things in your face but so little of it seems to have any meaning in the traditional silent hill way of doing things. It's just scary for the sake of it and seems more referential than substantial. I went to sleep at night after 1 and 2 thoroughly upset and horrified. Even though they were less outright scary they gave me a lot more nightmares. 4 just didn't have anything I wanted to think about after except maybe how it could have been better handled.

ZarosianCabbage Yeah, but the it doesn't explain why that some names were inconsistent or didn't work at all. The voice tech is decent enough to pick up what you say accurate if you say it clearly, but if you just breathe or rattle the mic then it goes an tries to search for something that it thinks resembles what you "said". So in a way, what you said explains why random noises can trigger it, but it doesn't explain why some of the names didn't work.
Notice how the names that didn't work have different sounding vowels, while Jeremy, Jeff, and Jereth share their e. My guess is that Jermey and Jeff aren't supposed to work, but the microphone is picking it up as Jereth. This could also explain how people sometimes trigger the second laugh by saying random stuff..
It wasn't spelled "Jereth" though; it's spelt "Jarith". Meaning it shouldn't have worked as consistently as it did, if your theory holds. And if that's the case, "Jesse" should have worked - but didn't.
I normally don't comment on youtube videos, but I have to say that both your PT episodes have been of a phenomenal quality that is so much fun to watch and, really, be a part of the whole lore and mystery. Keep up the work because this series is immensely entertaining, and oh so spooky.
at 2:51 no it makes sense. As the baby fetus/ lunch bag tells you at the ending, "dad was such a drag, he plays the same kind of games everyday blah blah blah". I honestly think this is another deep 4th wall message (which Kojima has been known to do) to refer to "dad" as the player/gamer mindset itself constantly trying to do the same boring thing (looping over and over again) in video games just to get a satisfactory outcome. (provided the player did not accomplish the phone call method and even if they did, the same message still apply to the amount of trial and error since it's highly unlikely anyone got the ending the first try) "The door is a separate reality. The only me is me, are you sure the only you is you." This could be an early hint that this is related to Silent HillS with the different dimensions or it could also be a clue to the dad's possible schizophrenia that would explain at the end when the baby says "one day, he just kills us all. He couldn't even be original about it". It could also probably be a cheeky way of expressing a player's frustration aka RAGEQUIT on trying to beat this demo.

Are you sure the only you is you?”) and you can do horrible things. So, Silent Hill is a state of mind, and not a single place. That why it’s called Silent HillS. Remember that all the Silent Hill games are about a person struggling against a unsolved regret. The final bosses are always representing the biggest regret of the min character. IMO, Norman Reedus character is the guy who killed the family with a meat cleaver, and he’s still alternating between the realities. Lisa, knowing that, is protecting her fetus (she might think Reedus’ character is like her husbund), and is trying to bring him to reality, or trying to show him what Jack, her husband, did to her family, before Reedus’ character returns to normality (the phone ring is the direction to normality : “-Don't touch that dial now, we're just getting started.”, and also, when the phone rings, you finish the game) Hope you enjoy my theory
Lisa caught me on the 51th loop, when I woke up on the initial room, the controller started vibrating, the baby laughed and the phone began to ring. When I crossed the door it all stopped and nothing happened again
I spent hours trying to get the second baby laugh to no avail and when I watched your video it was really intriguing to me so I tried it and the original solution that you posted worked immediately! I think that there are just multiple ways you can do things to make multiple things happen but I don't think any of it is relevant to how you complete the teaser.... I think that the creator just knew that everybody is different and he wanted a different experience for everybody ! Thank you !
Just wanted to check if anyone else got this trigger too. During the final loop puzzle I managed to trigger a male voice (not the "you've been chosen" from the phone). I triggered it twice but couldn't understand it because I got frightened. I'm not sure how I triggered it the first time, but the second time I zoomed in on the "I hear them ..... HELL" message to trigger the subtitle and hold it until they disappeared. Then I walked directly to the phone. By the time I reached/passed the bathroom door the male voice triggered. I haven't tested this again but I'm just curious if anyone else heard it too or TheGrateDebate might want to look into it.
I've had a look around and found out there a few of these male voice messages. These messages have been identified as messages in reverse. These messages have been recorded and played back in reverse to make them audible. 3 of these messages are in English and 1 in Spanish, from what I've found out of the few recordings. The english playbacks seem to be: "I walked 'til I stood one pace before Jack". "We share an instance of private darkness". "Heart pounding" The Spanish playback seems to be: ""Her touch... cold as marble.." (translated) Maybe this will help some solve the mystery. Hopefully someone can collect all the pieces and finally solve this puzzle definitively.
Dude, that happened to me too! I got really scare because I didn't know that could happen! Did you find how to triger the voice again? I couldn't. For me, it trigered when I was on the final loop, just standing there till 12:00 and I heard a male voice, not the radio one. But I also couldn't found out what it said!
José Alejandro The voice is a backwards recording. There are four backwards recordings with random triggers that I've managed to find around TH-cam, but they are hard to come by. My second comment in this thread has more information.
It's pretty exciting to imagine how much hidden stuff is going to be in the new game. Kojima is probably going to have a field day getting his little secret touches in.
You will ALWAYS get the light to turn on in the next corridor if you do the following: 1. Back up against the hallway door to the next area without opening. 2. Go straight to the first door you came through until you can hear it bump (sometimes it seems to work without it bumping, but not always). 3. Turn back and go through the hallway door like normal. The next light will always be on, no matter the flash light colour or the time you go through the door.
Regarding the floor colors, I could have sworn that, no matter how hard I tried, Lisa didn't appear at one color. In another color, Lisa cursed me, but never killed me. Might make the solution easier.
in the first room, if you walk close to the wall, you can open the door and stay in the room without entering the corridor. (maybe an error) a small detail, the character leans just to the right. Greetings
Here is something I have not seen anyone talking about on the internet, and that fact is surprising to me. When Lisa kills you, you DO know what she is doing to you, right? You have listened closely, yes? After your body hits the ground, listen carefully. You will very clearly hear Lisa unfasten your belt and take your zipper down. This is not just me being gross. Listen carefully the next time you play when she kills you. After the zipper comes down, there is some speculation about what she is doing amongst myself and my friends because the sound could be more than one thing. They think she is eating your willie, while I like to think of it as a ghost BJ. Go and listen, then come back and tell me what you think!
well if you wanna take a step further look at the facts. She used to work as a cashier on a store and was only hired because of how she looked in a skirt which heavily implied that the manager took advantage of her and may have spawned a bastard child. Also the dad was a drunk and seemed negligent of his husband duties. Now how does this all relate? well what you mentioned could be a clue (and i might be reaching here) that perhaps the baby was the result of a consensual intercourse ,rather than what we originally assumed as rape, due to sexual frustration on Lisa's marriage & desire. It wouldn't be the first time in this franchise too because in Silent Hill 2, one of the things that haunted the main character was his desire to have sex with someone else while his wife was still on her deathbed for years.

After watching a few LPs of PT, i've noticed that if you don't trigger any Lisa attacks at all, or have her haunting you... you end up with a green light. Maybe it has something to do with how you're messing around with Lisa, trying to trigger her, and whatnot.
I'm impressed with how far you got to, the puzzle might not come to us right away. But I have theory on how we could get answers. We just need to experiment as much as we can. It might sound time wasting, but it's not. In fact, everyone in the comment section or in general might have pieces to the answer. We just have to think about it, try it out, and add it to what we have now. It makes sense once you know what they want you to do; the colored flashlights, how saying Jeremy and Jeff or even Lisa gives you a response back, everything can connect to each other somehow, we just don't think about it. And by combining evidence from others, we may get some answers. It's just my idea though.
When I was trying to trigger the second laugh through the seek out lisa method, twice when the haunting started some text in another language appeared similar to how the text appears when you pick up picture fragments. Not sure what it said. Also could the 7780, 204863 be a phone number to call?
Are we SURE that the first sighting of Lisa (One of the first few loops, where she is standing in the hallway and when we approach the lights go off and shes gone) is actually Lisa? At all other points of seeing her she is twitching. EDIT: Actually she is not twitching while in the balcony either... But why is she not twitching? Shit, this game has me second guessing everything.
One Of my findings was lisa taking piece of the picture back. A couple times during a haunting letters appeared and then I noticed that my picture had two pieces missing
its like unconciously you did the murder and now youre trying to retrace what you did.. and trying to know why you did the murder.. its like try to know who or what took over you and trying to solve what the number means..
There was a mention of the significance of 7780s in another video (I think it was Caddicuarus' video actually) that said that was the square footage of the prefecture in Japan where the studio is located. A prefecture that has the nickname "Quiet Hills," a nod to the game's title. Also, I wonder if the glitch message itself doesn't have some significance to the plot itself. It claims that the player somehow harmed this "J" 20 years ago, and seems to be inviting them to Silent Hill to settle a score or something. Just going off the context clues from the radio and the bit at the end before the reveal trailer, I want to think that the player steps into the role of the father who killed his family, and hung himself with a garden hose. But something happened and he survived somehow, but either be it from a blow to the head after the hose-noose failed, or oxygen deprivation, has amnesia about the event and anything prior to it, and that the spirit of the son and Lisa are using Silent Hill to get their revenge.
Yeah it was the Caddicarus video that actually pointed me to the main video. Also, a small correction, I meant square kilometers, not square footage. That'd be a really small prefecture.
I forget what it's called , but I found a video a long time ago that told you how to do everything in order and stuff like that. It was the first people to play pT, one of the people who helped make The game PT was helping them.
The reason you'll automatically win after getting jumped by lisa after solving the puzzle is clearly because you already cleared the in game flag that says you won and the next time you exit the hallway you win but you cut it short by causing lisa to attack you and the win flag isn't reset because they didn't think anybody would fumble around going through fifty times and solve it right before the limit.
So I was playing PT earlier today, and something strange happend. This was the second time I played the game ever, I finished the first playthrough the first time I played if because of these videos. When I booted the game this time i was already in the final phase before the trailer. I got bored after a loop or two and went AFK, music blairing from my speakers. While in the pause menu without triggering the step laugh i somehow triggered the "jarith" laugh. After this I did the steps and the waiting and i got the trailer. Does a laugh trigger randomly from waiting? I was afk for maybe 1-2hours~~
this game is amazing. Not only is it beautiful, but complex and thrilling in its nature - Kojima is a genius, but a some point its hard to wrap one's head around how much he and his team put into this one game. Yes, I'm calling it a game. Above all else, this reminds me how much PT is a real collaborative effort - as curious fans, we band together. we're a community, struggling to get us to the same place, find new things, come to revelations, even though at this point it's over - people still gather around it. Cherish it as a point in time in history that still proceeds to boggle our minds. it's an outstanding work that bonds us, frustrates us, scares us, makes us laugh at ourselves - after all, is the definition of the retention of art by the audience. zazeedavid 7780 is the square footage of the prefecture that the studio that is making "Silent Hills" is built on. The hills are also nicknamed "Quiet Hills" by the local residents. Kojima is very fucking cryptic.
Here's something interesting that happened to me once. I was doing the final loop, the baby had laughed once and I had been trying to finish the puzzle when...well it's not really scary, just seemed kinda ominous. I had gotten the haunting and my friend found a little trick to where when the haunting starts to just look straight at one spot and you won't get killed. (it works, try it if you feel kinda scared when playing) Well, when I did this the third time something odd happened. A weird word appeared on my screen (same as when you find a picture piece, but without the static sound or weird distortions) and the screen dimmed really slightly for a second. It started with an o and ended with I think an accented e. I can't remember off the top of my head what it was exactly, but my friend said that it had never happened before in any playthroughs she had seen. Anyone know?

The same thing happened to me a few days ago, after midnight and during the haunting in the mirror in the bathroom I looked down and interacted with the fetus in the sink and got a message without static... Don't remember what it was and I also don't think it triggered a laugh
52 hallways could be answered like this- In Lance McD video, he said that if you go out of bounds then Lisa will kill you so it could be that at the end of 51st hallway(precisely where lisa kills you just before the door), you just about enter out of bounds and since it's programmed that when that happens you get killed, hence lisa killed you. Also, thinking from a dev POV, making lisa kill you if you accidentally go out of bounds (no matter how good the dev team, some things like this still make it to the final game) is imp cuz then you will be kind of softlocked in that animation of falling under the map
Has anyone tried compiling screenshots with different flashlight colors on top of each other, like the way an RGB screen puts together a red, green, and blue image to create a full-color image? I wonder if there's any secrets that can only be found by compiling pictures like that. That'd be a hell of a lot work, though. Take a shot of the phone desk with red... then blue... then green... then find nothing... that would suck. That's why I'm not going to do it. Also, I don't have a PS4.
Like 2 days ago I was playing P.T. and was in the bathroom I had the screen where the skull looking image and setting are I heard a voice that sounds like the bag talking say something was really weird? I dont know if I just the game or my mind playing tricks on me? was so creepy thought wished I would have saved it too play it back though. Great video by the way this game has me hooked stop playing it for a while now I back at it.
When you reset the game after you get the flashlight and listen to the broadcast with the announcer saying "look behind you" not only when you restart the game you hear her in the starting room, but you lose your flashlight too! Went the whole game without a flashlight no BS
Maybe there is 51 hallways because there is 51 Silent Hill in the game "Silent Hills" a plural meaning more than 1 Silent Hill. Maybe in the game they will mess around with how many attempts you have to complete a puzzle (in this case 51) and also maybe each time you go into a different silent hill, something different will happen compared to the last one, for example the different coloured flashlight.
I don't know if anyone else got this, but I was walking to reset the loop (in the final puzzle) and then I heard a mans voice but it wasn't in English and I am not sure what language it was. Then I paused the game to read the walkthrough to see if that was a step. When it was PAUSED, the mans voice said something in another language, again I am unsure about what exactly the language was. Then around 30 minutes later, I had the game paused and the baby laughed. Did anyone experience something like this?
When waiting for the clock to change there is a strange voice message which when played in reverse says "I walked 'til i stood one pace before jack" Which i thought referred to the name you had to say, but it didn't work. Now if you look at a deck of cards the jack is the eleventh card, so if you walk until you're one pace before jack, that's ten steps. It could just be mumbo jumbo tho and not say anything, but after waiting for midnight, walking exactly ten steps then staying still it triggers the first baby laugh.
Okay so I'm not 100% sure what I did and I have yet to be able to recreate it, but one time going through P.t. I found all the picture pieces on the first loop you're allowed to. I then continued through the loop without being caught by Lisa. When I entered the final loop I got the first baby laugh and before getting the second one looked upstairs. My screen flashed and writing (as of I found a puzzle piece) appeared. Had anyone else am this poor try to recreate it... Because I can't and it's getting frustrating.
My theory for there being 50 hallways is that they probably set the amount to an arbitrary number, such as a commonly used number like 50. Since computers count from 0, it is likely that the 51st try was reaching the end of whatever array that was filled with that number, and the Lisa death was triggered. I might post this to reddit to see what people think
Is anything in this game arbitrary? They planned everything down to the last detail except the number of chances you get to play thru? No offense but I doubt it.
Something that came to my mind that seemed odd when you mentioned that it ends on 51. If you look at the number 204863, you will notice that none of the numbers repeat and that the numbers 5 and 1 are not in it. You could also apply that knowledge to 7780, though obviously the only number in that which is out of place from 204863 is the 7s. The theory I have atm though is incomplete is that the numbers 1, 5, 7, and possibly a 9 could still possibly have relevance.The word Silent if you notice has no matching letters either which could match up with "204863". I have a theory that by using all numbers in some way will lead to the words "Silent Hills" with use of "204863" and 4 numbers after it (7780s could be Hills itself though the numbers do not match to the letters).
Also another possibility, though farfetched, is that 51 reversed could be 15 indicating the year it would actually release rather than 2016. I highly doubt this though.
1ntergalaktic Sorry but your cipher is incorrect. If you assume 7780 is code for "HILL", that means 204863 simply cannot be "SILENT" because you've already determined L belongs to the number 7 while in 204863 the L would belong to 8.
I Haven't played the game. I watched your videos about the solutions... this has probably been suggested, but the walking backwards thing probably has something to do with the Tree ( 7780 ) thing... maybe I'm wrong but that kinda makes sense... GO BACKWARDS ( light goes on and such... ) When you go backwards, the light is turned on, but when it is on and you go backwards again - it's off.
colors might be there to subconsciously stimulate emotion...also that fast forward walking scares the shit out of me and collecting the all pieces of the picture make you immune to lisa but hell makes more sense due to one of the puzzles with the letters saying hello on one wall moving to another wall saying hell maybe there are more words that can trigger different thing
The 51 doors might simply be a way of letting everyone see the main scare / reveal of the demo without having to do all the various steps. Then again, you win when you open door 52, so maybe it's something to do with something linked to a yearly cycle. Or maybe because it's been years since a SH game that isn't terribly flawed in some way. *Insert rimshot here*
I really hope you read this.. Last night I was playing P.T with some friends, and we were about to solve the last puzzle. I was standing in the hallway just waiting for the clock to give 12:00. I was connecting my mic in the meantime and then, I've heard a strange voice, it said something in swedish, and obviously I didn't understand a thing, but that was the first time that ever happened to me! And I've played that demo A LOT. It was a different voice that the one you hear on the radio, it didn't have any eco, it felt like a person was right there, the thing the voice said (it was a male voice) it was very short. Lilke a sentence, I inmediatly search for it all over the internet but I haven't found anything!! And I don't know if that ever happened to you guys.. It really scare me, because I still don't know what that is.
Did anyone find out anything about the flashlight colors? I've looked everywhere and can't find anything on it. Also, I havent gotten the flashlight colors to show up at all.

So we have two ways of solving the puzzle, one with a microphone and one without. It makes sense that the microphone wouldn't take as long to achieve, the PS4 allows for Twitch streaming and he'd want the first person to solve it to be someone streaming (which it was) to get it out to as many people as possible.
They explain in the video, keep moving through the final puzzle long enough until it finally hits you with a scripted jumpscare followed by the phone ringing.

I encountered something strange yesterday, don't know if that's important, but I thought, I should share it with you. I haven't solved the puzzle yet, nothing seems to work for me, no whispering, no looking at different places, nothing. So I tried to solve the puzzle in another way I saw in a video. There you let yourself get caught (or possessed or whatever) by Lisa and then look into the mirror in the bathroom. The baby laugh occured immediately. I tried that too, but with so many other things, it didn't work for me. Then I walked a few steps to look at the bath tub. Now comes the strange thing - after that I turned around really fast and... there was Lisa, killing me in an instant. Seemed weird to me, don't know about you guys. All in all I'm kinda frustated that I can't solve it. EDIT: Oh man, I am such a dork... I never had my headset FULLY plugged in! No wonder I never got to the second baby laugh. But now I did it! I used the names Jarith, Jeff and Jack and when I said the last one, I finally got it. So I think Jack actually does work. EDIT2: I tried it again yesterday and only used the name Jack. It worked immediately.
I've discovered this a month ago: 204863 = Kojima's birthday right? 204863 is also (50) Kojima's age when he started working on P.T. How? 2x0+4x8+6x3 = 50 I mean why this number exactly? Why didn't he just let it be 082463 or 240863? Hope this helps.

From what I can deduce from the radio announcements and the laughs the solution does not involve the father, or the wife. Seemingly you are playing hide and seek with the ghost of the daughter, which is how the father convince the daughter to come out of hiding. The colored lights are simply there to throw you off kind of like the puzzles with additional pieces that don't fit anywhere. Completing the picture is not required to solve the puzzle either, once again just seemed like additional pieces to make you think you're solving the real puzzle. To me I treated the final loop as playing hide and seek with a little girl and was able to consistently beat the game. With out completing the picture or getting a certain colored flash light or even talking into the mic, I tested the game with my mic disconnected. I will simply look for hiding places after the 1st laugh and get the 2nd laugh, places that would work is by the front door, behind the coat rack, behind the plant near the clock, near the stuffed bear. I also tried after the 1st laugh staying completely still and just leaving some music or consistent noise on the mic and this worked. Seemingly talking into the mic can convince the girl to come out too, like the father did. I think this is why the solution seems random, because playing hide and seek with a sound based apparition would be random. Also from a stand point of the little girl was the only spirit that was not seeking revenge, or even mentioned besides the fact that she was killed. Lisa, the son, even the fetus were clearly out for revenge completing the little girls game of hide and seek she was playing with her father would be the unfinished business that was needed for her soul to carry on which is why the final laugh is what prompts the phone call and says you are the chosen one.

I don't know that the "-J" is all that important, having played through the game several times (without ever actually unlocking the ending) during the glitch level I have seen approximately 5 different error messages, and only one of them has the "-J". Anybody else remember what the other screens say? I know one said something to the extent of "this is only a game, it cannot harm you." and then the more common one is "development stopped to inexplicable bug" or something. Maybe some clues in these other screens?

When i was playing at one point the door leading to the loop door just closed and i couldn't get it to open.This happen to any one else.Another thing i found is that the demonic voice (at the loop with the bloody fridge) is Swedish and after much searching and translating it turned out to be a war of the worlds reference which its self is a reference to the alien ending in silent hill 2.Finally i found out 204863 is a genome found in blackcotton wood which was the first tree to have its genome mapped (and also the stump which P.T is written on) this genome infects tap water through the roots of the tree and drives people mad and kills them. Hence you cant trust the tap water.

When I first played this, I noticed something so when you "finish the game" the first time, you get sent back to the room with the door right? Now other than the bag there's another secret, if you stand there for enough time you can hear a scratching on the wall, like chalk against the wall. As you notice there are a crap ton of marks on the wall. If you remember what the "bag" said it says "I saw me... walking infront of me, but it wasn't me... are you sure that you are you...?" Interesting... I also noticed something else. When you go to the bathroom there is a hole in the tile where the shower is and every once in awhile there will be an eye looking back at you, then it goes away. Later on when your tripping out and running really fast through the eyeball photos corridor thing you will notice that the only way to get out of this loop is to look into a peep hole into the bathroom. Where your hearing a murder take place, probably the murder of lisa or something. The eyeball looking at you through the peep hole is you looking into the bathroom through the peep hole. Pretty interesting stuff.

When you get the flashlight you get locked into the bathroom. The baby starts crying and you hear steps from outside the door, and then someone's trying to open the door, but it's locked. Guess who's that? Imo someone who was looping through the corridor a bit earlier... You don't hear the ghosts when they walk, do you? "Watch out, the gap in the door, it's a separate reality." :)))))

Perhaps 51 hallways is another clue that 204863 is in fact Kojima's birthday. I mean he just recently turned 51 this past month. If this is the case then maybe you start the first hallway in the year 1963, and every time you pass through the hallway you add another year until you get to present day. That could also mean that the character has been stuck in this loop for 51 years to unlock the mystery.

Ryan Domingue Game developers plan ahead on their projects (think Madden games bro) and if there's anyone that could be clever enough to come up with such an idea as this that would be Hideo Kojima.
I kind of doubt that, but not for the same reason as the other person. The 51 hallways may be a reference to Kojima's birthday, however, the glitch message implies that the game itself was made for the person playing it - as if you directly assume the roll of the murderous father - and that it was found 20 years after it happened. "Knowing you I was sure you'd notice this game and play it. I will never - can never - forget that day 20 years ago. I have something to tell you. Contact me. -J" Knowing the nature of Silent Hill and the sort of vengeful specters it attracts, it's not out of the ordinary to think it could create the game, and put it prominently where the target would find it, and use it as a taunting invitation to Silent Hill itself.
I am loving P.T. because of the elements it shares with Silent Hill 4. I always found Henry's apartment to be downright creepy because you'll never know if there will be a new haunting in the apartment when you return to it.
Silent Hill 4 was my favourite game in the Silent Hill series, so I really hope that Kojima takes elements of that into the new game.
Silent hill 4s only fault was how cheap konami became with team silent. Sh4 had good and bad points but I loved the game and it was in my opinion the creepiest of them all. Kojima is definitely taking inspiration from the original 4 games and four in particular with the first person view which puts the hauntings uncomfortably close to the player, and even the look of the ghost looks very sh4 :)
I respect your opinion but I got nothing out of 4. The room was a great premise but it never got fleshed out. They throw a lot more intense things in your face but so little of it seems to have any meaning in the traditional silent hill way of doing things. It's just scary for the sake of it and seems more referential than substantial. I went to sleep at night after 1 and 2 thoroughly upset and horrified. Even though they were less outright scary they gave me a lot more nightmares. 4 just didn't have anything I wanted to think about after except maybe how it could have been better handled.

ZarosianCabbage Yeah, but the it doesn't explain why that some names were inconsistent or didn't work at all. The voice tech is decent enough to pick up what you say accurate if you say it clearly, but if you just breathe or rattle the mic then it goes an tries to search for something that it thinks resembles what you "said". So in a way, what you said explains why random noises can trigger it, but it doesn't explain why some of the names didn't work.
Maybe when you get the green colored flashlight, it just means that the clock is way off and it's actually 4:20.

at 2:51 no it makes sense. As the baby fetus/ lunch bag tells you at the ending, "dad was such a drag, he plays the same kind of games everyday blah blah blah". I honestly think this is another deep 4th wall message (which Kojima has been known to do) to refer to "dad" as the player/gamer mindset itself constantly trying to do the same boring thing (looping over and over again) in video games just to get a satisfactory outcome. (provided the player did not accomplish the phone call method and even if they did, the same message still apply to the amount of trial and error since it's highly unlikely anyone got the ending the first try)
"The door is a separate reality. The only me is me, are you sure the only you is you." This could be an early hint that this is related to Silent HillS with the different dimensions or it could also be a clue to the dad's possible schizophrenia that would explain at the end when the baby says "one day, he just kills us all. He couldn't even be original about it". It could also probably be a cheeky way of expressing a player's frustration aka RAGEQUIT on trying to beat this demo.

Have in mind that the purpose of PT was to surprise everybody with the silent hill demo. At first, noone know it was a Silent Hill game.
The fictional 7780s studios is a catchy name. 7780 is zipcode of Shizuoka area in Japan. Shizuoka means “Quiet Hill”, or “Silent Hill”. So 7780s = Silent Hills.
The game was created with a downgraded version of FOX engine and presented as a indie game from a minor studio. Kojima said that if they use the full power of FOX engine, the game would looks like a big studio game, so that’s why they did the downgrade.
Also, he said that FOX engine is focused in open world games. So, we can expect a open world silent hill.
Why many languages? According to Kojima, the purpose of the tips in many languages is to envolve people worldwide, so they can solve the puzzles together.

In the last puzzle, when it reaches 00:00 (“The moment our hands overlap”), you must walk 10 steps from the clock towards the fetus (“I walked till I stood one pace before Jack”). So, Jack can be the fetus name. Also, when you do that, you will be close to the husband’s photo. So Jack can be the husband’s name as well. Then you’ll trigger the 1st baby laugh.
To unlock the second baby laugh, you have to zoom in at the radio, wait for the haunting sounds, and whisper “Jack” (“I whispered his name” - Close to “Jarith”, stated by TheGreatDebate) in the microphone. Then you’ll trigger the 2nd baby laugh.
After this, you have to stand still in order to unlock the 3rd baby laugh (“I didn't move anymore during the waiting, then his finger slipped on my hand.”)
Then the phone will ring (“And through the mist of fading consciousness I believed, I heard a phone”).

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE HISTORY
People, due to external bad influences (radio is a symbol of incoming bad things), can be lead to a different reality (silent hill, the “gap in the door”) in their minds. Once inside this alternate reality, you are not you anymore (“Watch out. The gap in the door... it's a separate reality. The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?”) and you can do horrible things. So, Silent Hill is a state of mind, and not a single place. That why it’s called Silent HillS.
Remember that all the Silent Hill games are about a person struggling against a unsolved regret. The final bosses are always representing the biggest regret of the min character.
IMO, Norman Reedus character is the guy who killed the family with a meat cleaver, and he’s still alternating between the realities. Lisa, knowing that, is protecting her fetus (she might think Reedus’ character is like her husbund), and is trying to bring him to reality, or trying to show him what Jack, her husband, did to her family, before Reedus’ character returns to normality (the phone ring is the direction to normality : “-Don't touch that dial now, we're just getting started.”, and also, when the phone rings, you finish the game)

Lisa caught me on the 51th loop, when I woke up on the initial room, the controller started vibrating, the baby laughed and the phone began to ring. When I crossed the door it all stopped and nothing happened again

I spent hours trying to get the second baby laugh to no avail and when I watched your video it was really intriguing to me so I tried it and the original solution that you posted worked immediately! I think that there are just multiple ways you can do things to make multiple things happen but I don't think any of it is relevant to how you complete the teaser.... I think that the creator just knew that everybody is different and he wanted a different experience for everybody ! Thank you !
Just wanted to check if anyone else got this trigger too. During the final loop puzzle I managed to trigger a male voice (not the "you've been chosen" from the phone). I triggered it twice but couldn't understand it because I got frightened. I'm not sure how I triggered it the first time, but the second time I zoomed in on the "I hear them ..... HELL" message to trigger the subtitle and hold it until they disappeared. Then I walked directly to the phone. By the time I reached/passed the bathroom door the male voice triggered. I haven't tested this again but I'm just curious if anyone else heard it too or TheGrateDebate might want to look into it.
I've had a look around and found out there a few of these male voice messages. These messages have been identified as messages in reverse. These messages have been recorded and played back in reverse to make them audible. 3 of these messages are in English and 1 in Spanish, from what I've found out of the few recordings.
The english playbacks seem to be:
"I walked 'til I stood one pace before Jack".
"We share an instance of private darkness".
"Heart pounding"
The Spanish playback seems to be:

Maybe this will help some solve the mystery. Hopefully someone can collect all the pieces and finally solve this puzzle definitively.

Dude, that happened to me too! I got really scare because I didn't know that could happen! Did you find how to triger the voice again? I couldn't. For me, it trigered when I was on the final loop, just standing there till 12:00 and I heard a male voice, not the radio one. But I also couldn't found out what it said!
José Alejandro The voice is a backwards recording. There are four backwards recordings with random triggers that I've managed to find around TH-cam, but they are hard to come by. My second comment in this thread has more information.

It's pretty exciting to imagine how much hidden stuff is going to be in the new game. Kojima is probably going to have a field day getting his little secret touches in.
You will ALWAYS get the light to turn on in the next corridor if you do the following:
1. Back up against the hallway door to the next area without opening.
2. Go straight to the first door you came through until you can hear it bump (sometimes it seems to work without it bumping, but not always).
3. Turn back and go through the hallway door like normal. The next light will always be on, no matter the flash light colour or the time you go through the door.

Here is something I have not seen anyone talking about on the internet, and that fact is surprising to me.
When Lisa kills you, you DO know what she is doing to you, right? You have listened closely, yes? After your body hits the ground, listen carefully. You will very clearly hear Lisa unfasten your belt and take your zipper down. This is not just me being gross. Listen carefully the next time you play when she kills you.
After the zipper comes down, there is some speculation about what she is doing amongst myself and my friends because the sound could be more than one thing. They think she is eating your willie, while I like to think of it as a ghost BJ.

well if you wanna take a step further look at the facts. She used to work as a cashier on a store and was only hired because of how she looked in a skirt which heavily implied that the manager took advantage of her and may have spawned a bastard child. Also the dad was a drunk and seemed negligent of his husband duties.
Now how does this all relate? well what you mentioned could be a clue (and i might be reaching here) that perhaps the baby was the result of a consensual intercourse ,rather than what we originally assumed as rape, due to sexual frustration on Lisa's marriage & desire.
It wouldn't be the first time in this franchise too because in Silent Hill 2, one of the things that haunted the main character was his desire to have sex with someone else while his wife was still on her deathbed for years.

After watching a few LPs of PT, i've noticed that if you don't trigger any Lisa attacks at all, or have her haunting you... you end up with a green light. Maybe it has something to do with how you're messing around with Lisa, trying to trigger her, and whatnot.
I can walk through the hall many many times never seeing Lisa and never get a green light
I'm impressed with how far you got to, the puzzle might not come to us right away. But I have theory on how we could get answers. We just need to experiment as much as we can. It might sound time wasting, but it's not. In fact, everyone in the comment section or in general might have pieces to the answer. We just have to think about it, try it out, and add it to what we have now. It makes sense once you know what they want you to do; the colored flashlights, how saying Jeremy and Jeff or even Lisa gives you a response back, everything can connect to each other somehow, we just don't think about it. And by combining evidence from others, we may get some answers. It's just my idea though.
When I was trying to trigger the second laugh through the seek out lisa method, twice when the haunting started some text in another language appeared similar to how the text appears when you pick up picture fragments. Not sure what it said. Also could the 7780, 204863 be a phone number to call?
Are we SURE that the first sighting of Lisa (One of the first few loops, where she is standing in the hallway and when we approach the lights go off and shes gone) is actually Lisa? At all other points of seeing her she is twitching.
EDIT: Actually she is not twitching while in the balcony either... But why is she not twitching? Shit, this game has me second guessing everything.

One Of my findings was lisa taking piece of the picture back. A couple times during a haunting letters appeared and then I noticed that my picture had two pieces missing
its like unconciously you did the murder and now youre trying to retrace what you did.. and trying to know why you did the murder.. its like try to know who or what took over you and trying to solve what the number means..
There was a mention of the significance of 7780s in another video (I think it was Caddicuarus' video actually) that said that was the square footage of the prefecture in Japan where the studio is located. A prefecture that has the nickname "Quiet Hills," a nod to the game's title. Also, I wonder if the glitch message itself doesn't have some significance to the plot itself. It claims that the player somehow harmed this "J" 20 years ago, and seems to be inviting them to Silent Hill to settle a score or something. Just going off the context clues from the radio and the bit at the end before the reveal trailer, I want to think that the player steps into the role of the father who killed his family, and hung himself with a garden hose. But something happened and he survived somehow, but either be it from a blow to the head after the hose-noose failed, or oxygen deprivation, has amnesia about the event and anything prior to it, and that the spirit of the son and Lisa are using Silent Hill to get their revenge.
Yeah it was the Caddicarus video that actually pointed me to the main video. Also, a small correction, I meant square kilometers, not square footage. That'd be a really small prefecture.
I forget what it's called , but I found a video a long time ago that told you how to do everything in order and stuff like that. It was the first people to play pT, one of the people who helped make The game PT was helping them.
The reason you'll automatically win after getting jumped by lisa after solving the puzzle is clearly because you already cleared the in game flag that says you won and the next time you exit the hallway you win but you cut it short by causing lisa to attack you and the win flag isn't reset because they didn't think anybody would fumble around going through fifty times and solve it right before the limit.

So I was playing PT earlier today, and something strange happend. This was the second time I played the game ever, I finished the first playthrough the first time I played if because of these videos. When I booted the game this time i was already in the final phase before the trailer. I got bored after a loop or two and went AFK, music blairing from my speakers. While in the pause menu without triggering the step laugh i somehow triggered the "jarith" laugh. After this I did the steps and the waiting and i got the trailer. Does a laugh trigger randomly from waiting? I was afk for maybe 1-2hours~~
MGS5 has 50 mission and the mission 51 was removed ... 50 Loops 50 Mission ... 51 is a failure?
this game is amazing. Not only is it beautiful, but complex and thrilling in its nature - Kojima is a genius, but a some point its hard to wrap one's head around how much he and his team put into this one game. Yes, I'm calling it a game. Above all else, this reminds me how much PT is a real collaborative effort - as curious fans, we band together. we're a community, struggling to get us to the same place, find new things, come to revelations, even though at this point it's over - people still gather around it. Here's something interesting that happened to me once. I was doing the final loop, the baby had laughed once and I had been trying to finish the puzzle when...well it's not really scary, just seemed kinda ominous. I had gotten the haunting and my friend found a little trick to where when the haunting starts to just look straight at one spot and you won't get killed. (it works, try it if you feel kinda scared when playing)
Well, when I did this the third time something odd happened. A weird word appeared on my screen (same as when you find a picture piece, but without the static sound or weird distortions) and the screen dimmed really slightly for a second. It started with an o and ended with I think an accented e. I can't remember off the top of my head what it was exactly, but my friend said that it had never happened before in any playthroughs she had seen. Anyone know?
Cliche? That's the first word that comes to mind with an accented e. If it was written in hand writing it could be possible the C looked like an O

The same thing happened to me a few days ago, after midnight and during the haunting in the mirror in the bathroom I looked down and interacted with the fetus in the sink and got a message without static... Don't remember what it was and I also don't think it triggered a laugh
52 hallways could be answered like this- In Lance McD video, he said that if you go out of bounds then Lisa will kill you so it could be that at the end of 51st hallway(precisely where lisa kills you just before the door), you just about enter out of bounds and since it's programmed that when that happens you get killed, hence lisa killed you.
Also, thinking from a dev POV, making lisa kill you if you accidentally go out of bounds (no matter how good the dev team, some things like this still make it to the final game) is imp cuz then you will be kind of softlocked in that animation of falling under the map
Has anyone tried compiling screenshots with different flashlight colors on top of each other, like the way an RGB screen puts together a red, green, and blue image to create a full-color image? I wonder if there's any secrets that can only be found by compiling pictures like that. That'd be a hell of a lot work, though. Take a shot of the phone desk with red... then blue... then green... then find nothing... that would suck. That's why I'm not going to do it. Also, I don't have a PS4.

P.T. and was in the bathroom I had the screen where the skull looking image and setting are I heard a voice that sounds like the bag talking say something was really weird? I dont know if I just the game or my mind playing tricks on me? was so creepy thought wished I would have saved it too play it back though. Great video by the way this game has me hooked stop playing it for a while now I back at it.

When you reset the game after you get the flashlight and listen to the broadcast with the announcer saying "look behind you" not only when you restart the game you hear her in the starting room, but you lose your flashlight too! Went the whole game without a flashlight no BS

Maybe there is 51 hallways because there is 51 Silent Hill in the game "Silent Hills" a plural meaning more than 1 Silent Hill. Maybe in the game they will mess around with how many attempts you have to complete a puzzle (in this case 51) and also maybe each time you go into a different silent hill, something different will happen compared to the last one, for example the different coloured flashlight.

I don't know if anyone else got this, but I was walking to reset the loop (in the final puzzle) and then I heard a mans voice but it wasn't in English and I am not sure what language it was. Then I paused the game to read the walkthrough to see if that was a step. When it was PAUSED, the mans voice said something in another language, again I am unsure about what exactly the language was. Then around 30 minutes later, I had the game paused and the baby laughed. Did anyone experience something like this?
When waiting for the clock to change there is a strange voice message which when played in reverse says "I walked 'til i stood one pace before jack" Which i thought referred to the name you had to say, but it didn't work. Now if you look at a deck of cards the jack is the eleventh card, so if you walk until you're one pace before jack, that's ten steps. It could just be mumbo jumbo tho and not say anything, but after waiting for midnight, walking exactly ten steps then staying still it triggers the first baby laugh.
If you had to guess, how many collective hours have you guys put into PT? Seems like a lot.
Okay so I'm not 100% sure what I did and I have yet to be able to recreate it, but one time going through P.t. I found all the picture pieces on the first loop you're allowed to. I then continued through the loop without being caught by Lisa. When I entered the final loop I got the first baby laugh and before getting the second one looked upstairs. My screen flashed and writing (as of I found a puzzle piece) appeared. Had anyone else am this poor try to recreate it... Because I can't and it's getting frustrating.
My theory for there being 50 hallways is that they probably set the amount to an arbitrary number, such as a commonly used number like 50. Since computers count from 0, it is likely that the 51st try was reaching the end of whatever array that was filled with that number, and the Lisa death was triggered.
I might post this to reddit to see what people think
Is anything in this game arbitrary? They planned everything down to the last detail except the number of chances you get to play thru? No offense but I doubt it.

Something that came to my mind that seemed odd when you mentioned that it ends on 51. If you look at the number 204863, you will notice that none of the numbers repeat and that the numbers 5 and 1 are not in it. You could also apply that knowledge to 7780, though obviously the only number in that which is out of place from 204863 is the 7s. The theory I have atm though is incomplete is that the numbers 1, 5, 7, and possibly a 9 could still possibly have relevance.The word Silent if you notice has no matching letters either which could match up with "204863". I have a theory that by using all numbers in some way will lead to the words "Silent Hills" with use of "204863" and 4 numbers after it (7780s could be Hills itself though the numbers do not match to the letters).
Also another possibility, though farfetched, is that 51 reversed could be 15 indicating the year it would actually release rather than 2016. I highly doubt this though.

1ntergalaktic Sorry but your cipher is incorrect. If you assume 7780 is code for "HILL", that means 204863 simply cannot be "SILENT" because you've already determined L belongs to the number 7 while in 204863 the L would belong to 8.
I Haven't played the game. I watched your videos about the solutions... this has probably been suggested, but the walking backwards thing probably has something to do with the Tree ( 7780 ) thing... maybe I'm wrong but that kinda makes sense... GO BACKWARDS ( light goes on and such... )
When you go backwards, the light is turned on, but when it is on and you go backwards again - it's off.
colors might be there to subconsciously stimulate emotion...also that fast forward walking scares the shit out of me and collecting the all pieces of the picture make you immune to lisa
but hell makes more sense due to one of the puzzles with the letters saying hello on one wall moving to another wall saying hell maybe there are more words that can trigger different thing
The 51 doors might simply be a way of letting everyone see the main scare / reveal of the demo without having to do all the various steps. Then again, you win when you open door 52, so maybe it's something to do with something linked to a yearly cycle. Or maybe because it's been years since a SH game that isn't terribly flawed in some way. *Insert rimshot here*

I really hope you read this.. Last night I was playing P.T with some friends, and we were about to solve the last puzzle. I was standing in the hallway just waiting for the clock to give 12:00. I was connecting my mic in the meantime and then, I've heard a strange voice, it said something in swedish, and obviously I didn't understand a thing, but that was the first time that ever happened to me! And I've played that demo A LOT. It was a different voice that the one you hear on the radio, it didn't have any eco, it felt like a person was right there, the thing the voice said (it was a male voice) it was very short. Lilke a sentence, I inmediatly search for it all over the internet but I haven't found anything!! And I don't know if that ever happened to you guys.. It really scare me, because I still don't know what that is.
Did anyone find out anything about the flashlight colors? I've looked everywhere and can't find anything on it. Also, I havent gotten the flashlight colors to show up at all.
Please, if you find more stuff, make a new video. So we have two ways of solving the puzzle, one with a microphone and one without. It makes sense that the microphone wouldn't take as long to achieve, the PS4 allows for Twitch streaming and he'd want the first person to solve it to be someone streaming (which it was) to get it out to as many people as possible.
How can you solve the final puzzle of P.T. without the Playstation 4 mic?
They explain in the video, keep moving through the final puzzle long enough until it finally hits you with a scripted jumpscare followed by the phone ringing.
Do the coloured flashlights have a definite and repeatable order? maybe it's Hexadecimal.

for the final stage, a friend was playing, after walking the 10 steps (by chance) and hearing laughter, gave only one step and the second laugh is heard immediately after that the control starts to vibrate (I I told him to stay still)

I encountered something strange yesterday, don't know if that's important, but I thought, I should share it with you. I haven't solved the puzzle yet, nothing seems to work for me, no whispering, no looking at different places, nothing. So I tried to solve the puzzle in another way I saw in a video. There you let yourself get caught (or possessed or whatever) by Lisa and then look into the mirror in the bathroom. The baby laugh occured immediately. I tried that too, but with so many other things, it didn't work for me. Then I walked a few steps to look at the bath tub. Now comes the strange thing - after that I turned around really fast and... there was Lisa, killing me in an instant.
Seemed weird to me, don't know about you guys. All in all I'm kinda frustated that I can't solve it.
EDIT: Oh man, I am such a dork... I never had my headset FULLY plugged in! No wonder I never got to the second baby laugh. But now I did it! I used the names Jarith, Jeff and Jack and when I said the last one, I finally got it. So I think Jack actually does work.
EDIT2: I tried it again yesterday and only used the name Jack. It worked immediately.

OMFG IT WORKS....IVE BEEN TRYING ALL YEAR
From what I can deduce from the radio announcements and the laughs the solution does not involve the father, or the wife. Seemingly you are playing hide and seek with the ghost of the daughter, which is how the father convince the daughter to come out of hiding. The colored lights are simply there to throw you off kind of like the puzzles with additional pieces that don't fit anywhere. Completing the picture is not required to solve the puzzle either, once again just seemed like additional pieces to make you think you're solving the real puzzle. To me I treated the final loop as playing hide and seek with a little girl and was able to consistently beat the game. With out completing the picture or getting a certain colored flash light or even talking into the mic, I tested the game with my mic disconnected. I will simply look for hiding places after the 1st laugh and get the 2nd laugh, places that would work is by the front door, behind the coat rack, behind the plant near the clock, near the stuffed bear. I also tried after the 1st laugh staying completely still and just leaving some music or consistent noise on the mic and this worked. Seemingly talking into the mic can convince the girl to come out too, like the father did. I think this is why the solution seems random, because playing hide and seek with a sound based apparition would be random. Also from a stand point of the little girl was the only spirit that was not seeking revenge, or even mentioned besides the fact that she was killed. Lisa, the son, even the fetus were clearly out for revenge completing the little girls game of hide and seek she was playing with her father would be the unfinished business that was needed for her soul to carry on which is why the final laugh is what prompts the phone call and says you are the chosen one.

I don't know that the "-J" is all that important, having played through the game several times (without ever actually unlocking the ending) during the glitch level I have seen approximately 5 different error messages, and only one of them has the "-J". Anybody else remember what the other screens say? I know one said something to the extent of "this is only a game, it cannot harm you." and then the more common one is "development stopped to inexplicable bug" or something. Maybe some clues in these other screens?
