Just started on my whiskey journey and picked this up for £27 Sainsbury’s June 24. Looking forward to giving it a go; but got a feeling I’m going to get a bottle of the 12 year too. ATB great channel and no nonsense reviews.
Juat grabbed one at tezzers for £25 it's a banger for that price. It's young very young. 4 or 5 years im guessing. Not a patch on the 12 but I do like the chilli style bite of youthful stuff. I think younger islays are much more interesting than other regions.
Vin, Glad to hear the pronunciation since we Yanks wouldn't get close. I think I get some light smoke on the 12 year but it kinda comes and goes. Around Myrtle Beach, SC the Bunna 12 is $65 to 75. Have to go to Florida to find it at $55. Don't expect to see this one around town. Cheers!
I know it was partially a release to cover the bases for the lack of 12yo for awhile..? Actually keen to try this one, but we still have the 12yo here in Sweden (for now), and can't get this one (yet). Would happily have any and all Bunna's sitting side by side on my shelf :) Delicious stuff. The 12 is a classic and one of my faves.
Love this one and the '12'. Tend to think they sit alongside each other well, complimenting nicely. Agree re the price though (not sure RRP is well placed ) and wouldn't buy at £38 given the '12' price being so close, however I pick it up often at UK £26 !!!! around supermarkets (Morrisons /Sainsbury) and at that price it's a steal!! Stock up with a few at the right time and it's a great buy.....
Great review Vin. You want hot? Try living in Florida right now. I live in the Orlando area. It's stupid hot right now. I actually just got a bottle of the Bunnahabhain 18 with the blue label. I'll be opening it this Saturday with my dad down in The Keys. I'll have to try this Bunnahabhain. I've only had the 12, and I loved it. I'm always hesitant about NAS though, but at the price, there's nothing to lose. Cheers!!🥂
Hah! I guess the only saving grace is you're likely to A/C right? I think of you like the bunna 12, you won't be disappointed in this. Especially if you happen upon it at a decent price

It’s been really bad in the last 18 months, the sherry maturation has almost disappeared, loads of young refill bourbon casks in the mix resulting in a pretty bland whisky sadly. It’s been as low as £19.80 on Amazon in the past 6 months, so sadly I think this is indicative of its quality now. The 12 should be the entry level Bunna as I feel people trying the Stuireadair in 2022 for the first time are likely to be switched off from exploring Bunna further.
Really? I buy this whiskey quite often on Amazon and the cheapest I have ever seen it is £24. It is a lot thinner than the twelve but the price reflects this.
While I love the 12 this is one of my go to whiskeys as it often found in supermarkets for £25. For the money you can't go wrong.

Amazon in the UK often has this around the £25 mark and with a subscribe and save discount of 15% makes it a no-brainer!
I’ll buy the Stiuireadair before Macallan 12, tastes better to me at half the price, love the Bunnahabhain 12 as well.
