Thanks for that comparison! Bunna 12 was my gateway whisky. Before that, I was a bored bourbon collector looking for a different flavor profile. I was handed a Bunna 12 and immediately loved it. Enjoy your time off, Kevin!
Bought the Stiuireadair at Sainsburys for £25 on offer. Decent enough and would replace if I found it at similar price. I'm enjoying it very much at the moment.
Have a bottle of the 12 in the cupboard gathering dust, opened it for the first time in ages, not half bad, defo improved with time. Going to a Glengoyne Edinburgh Festival show next week, which should be interesting.
Stiuireadair £22.50 on S&S on Amazon at the moment. Incredible value for money. Great review btw Kevin. Fancy doing a “best budget malts for Christmas” video?
Just rewatched your comparison. I have the Stiurireadair and love it. Can’t get a 12 year right now. I did get a bottle of the 12 cask Strength (2022) not opening till I get the standard 12. Question, is that a Camaro tat?
All three are great drams… I found for the extra money for the CS 12 year old there wasn’t a major difference, it was good but not Jae dropping in my opinion. I’m heading to bunnahabhain next week for a tour so really looking forward to try some samples straight from the cask… and it is a camero… used to be yellow but the colour had faded on it 😂
Great comparison Kevin, thanks. Just picked up a Stiuireadair for £25 from Tesco. Incredible for non chill filtered & no added colour. Interested to know why you don’t have a sip of water in between tastings? Do you think your review would have been different had you sipped the Stiuireadair first? Just curious, not being critical!
It’s a great dram and it’s mad the amount of time so by pass it on my shelf but the quality is all there. I’ll take note of that it’s something I didn’t notice before. I’ll try this again over the week and see how the pallet reacts to it. I think it may have been different as they do have a lot of similarities but best of all we’re getting a quality NAS whisky for really achievable prices… and non chill filtered no added colour is the cherry on top.
No doubt the 12 is better, but here in the U.S. the 12 is ~$72 and the Stiu. is ~$44. At that price I would take it over most other similarly priced Scotch (Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie etc..). It is not much more than Johnnie Walker Black or some other blends.

Love em both!

Brilliant review Kevin. Two of my favorites, from probably my favorite distillery ❤. Thanks my friend 🙏

@@Letstalkwhisky yep, really looking forward to opening it & comparing against the 12 which I have open. Pretty sure you can’t get better for £25!
