    I got my Bunnahabhain 12 bottles for $52.70 USD each. These were already highly discounted on the Lazada APP here in the Philippines. I wouldn't pay the retail price for these. It's July 22, 2024 and inflation continues to rise.
    So far, I've gotta say my favorite is The Classic Laddie. My second place would be the Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5. 3rd plce would be the Ardbeg 10, and then the Bunnahabhain 12 coming in at 4th place.

    Love the video! New subscriber here, found you from your video with the Whiskey Tribe! The Stiuireadair was introduced to me last year, and it opened up a world for me. My whole life I've been a beer guy, anything full flavored, with the occasional shot thrown in here or there. A guy at a hotel bar in Florida had a bottle of the Stiuireadair with him that he was trying to get rid of because he was leaving the next morning and couldn't take it on the plane. I tasted it neat and was really impressed. So much so that myself and another gentleman helped him finish it off (I was tipsy enough and unversed enough to thank him for the brandy.. ouch) and left. Took me a bit to find it but I finally did. Since then I've become, for all intents and purposes, obsessed with Whisk(e)y tasting! And, out of personal embarrassment from the memory, I've definitely looked into the differences between whisky, brandy, cognac, gin, and several other methods or styles of distilling and aging, it's so fascinating!
    I went for another bottle a few weeks later and couldn't find it. But this particular seller did have the 12. I got it and loved it, but wasn't sure I liked it more than the Stiuireadair, until I did get another bottle and had them side by side as you've just done. I was almost disappointed that I liked the 12 more, I guess for sentimental reasons, the Stiuireadair being my gateway eye opener to the world of whisk(e)y. It'll always have a familiar place for me. But the 12 is better straight. I'm still a novice but I followed right along with everything you described about both!
    I've now tried all sorts of scotch and bourbon whiskies and really enjoy the pursuit of finding the next great dram. Still making my way through budget ranks for now. But I'm excited about trying nearly anything I can get my hands on.
    Another one similar to both of these I've taken a great liking to is The Lasanta from Glenmorangie. It's also a sherry cask finish that is super smooth and easy, but somewhat complex at least to my immature palate. I don't know that it's better than the B12, but I'd say it's better than the Stiuireadair to which it is similarly priced.
    I'll be looking into the channel!

    I did a virtual tasting with Whisky Ottawa last Friday night. Excellent time! We had the 12, 18, Stiuireadair, Toiteach a Dha, French Brandy, and Palo Cortado. Every single one of them were wonderful, but particularly the 18, French Brandy cask and the Palo Cortado (very expensive bottle). Thanks again for the review, brother! Love the comparisons too. :)

    Keep doing comparison videos, they are very informative and let people choose a bottle that suites their taste. Bunnahabhain 12 is probably unbeatable in its own category at the price range. You should try the new Kilchoman Am Burach (port finish 46%), it is quite impressive. I like it better than Sanaig, not as sweet, somehow better balanced/intriguing. I can't compare it to Loch Gorm 2020, it's still on my list "to buy".

    Hi Eric
    I just bought these 2 expressions of bunnahabhain's, and I bought 2 bottles of the 12year old and I can say without a doubt the 12 year old is a standout good whiskey, I haven't opened the staduhear yet, I cracked the 12 and did not like it, gave it a week to open up, and oh my God, I think it is on par with the 18year old bunnahabhain, I just love 💘 this expression, I have found you to be spot on with your reviews and tastes of scotch, I always watch ⌚ yours and ralfys videos before I buy any whiskeys, thank you for your honest whiskey tasting, and cheers to you sir, keep the great videos coming !!!

    I 100% agree about the quality of Bunnahabhain 12 at this moment in time; it's one of the great malts currently being made regardless of price. Still about $50 where I live, and that can be had in a gift set with a nice glencarin 😉
    Do you own a bottle of Tullibardine 12 The Murray Cask Strength? I can still find it for $60 and it's another excellent value.

    Great lead-in and insight on tastings and comparisons. I picked up both and enjoyed each of them have their own flavor profile etc. The 12 yo definitely went up in price around the high $50 mark while the other mid $40’s. Both enjoyable but the 12 was excellent.

    Nice review, Erik. The 12 year is a wonderful whisky that really hits the Goldilocks zone for price/value. The 18 is better in some respects, but it’s hitting $155 where I live, and that’s a big price difference that’s hard to justify for most people.

    I flinched when I heard you use the word ‘budget’. These two cost equiv of US$58-65. I normally stop listening when I think a reviewer is oblivious to the reality for his audience, but continued. I then realised the ‘budget’ reference was for the Bunna range. I’ll wait for a sale on Bunna 12 to under US$60 though. Nothing ‘budget’ about it any way I look at it.

      @cianoc8211 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik Wait Whisky Studies not having a go at you big lad😂 it’s how I’ve heard the marketers from Scotland actually tell people to pronounce it, which seems bizarre to an Irish person - we actually have to learn Irish (Gaelic) in Ireland in school and it’s the first language of the state...though most don’t bother actually using it but stick to the foreign language English because it’s useful globally...whereas in Scotland gaelic is treated like Navajo is in the US, you don’t have to learn it or anything, so I’m querying are there any Scots gaels out there who can confirm this mad way the marketers are claiming this quite easy few Gaelic words are to be spoken.
      And id make shite of New Orleans😂
