Dude such a great story in a short time you rock and missed nothing...keep going. Do the same but for Big Boss
Thanks! We will get around to it soon! :D
Great video, would love to see ones on Big Boss and Raiden too, keep it up!
The name of the “Big Shell” is another hint to the story line and misinformation theme in mgs2. It was all an unnerving illusion
9:34 "Philanthropy" an anti-metal gear organization is an NGO ((non-government organization)) the person who funded the organization is Natasha Romanenko and Snake and Otacon are the co-founders of Philanthropy
Correct
10:40 it is revealed that ocelot was never really possessed, but rather took on the role of Liquid and had psychotherapy done to recreate, or mimic liquids personality and psyche.
21:07?
I thought they were called "Sons of Liberty" after they acquired Arsenal Gear. Weren't they Dead Cell before the big shell incident?
If you want you’re series to be successful, call up Sakurai and say “hey uhh think you can put this character in your game to promote mine?”
I find it pretty cool that the "canon" version of MGS involves the graphics of the PS1 version but the voice acting from the GameCube version is canon because the accents are gone and Snakes exaggerated voice makes a debut.
Both are canon, MGS4 uses some screenshots from Twin Snakes during Liquid Ocelot’s speech before the final boss.
Twin Snakes appears in the Metal Gear timeline and in Guns Of The Patriots the poster that Otacon had in his lab on Shadow Moses is the same one from Twin Snakes.
Considering how dense MGS lore can be, it's very impressive how you managed to keep on topic
Such a well made video! Great Job!
Thanks so much! :D
It just dawned on me that Venom Snake's mission was to die at the hands of Solid Snake
IS THAT THE GUY FROM FORTNIGHT!??!?!??!!?!?!??!!?!?
Before he was a solid snake, he was a liquid snake.
My all time favorite fictional character ever since my childhood.
Yeah ...same, but its strange to say that about a character that first began as a generic antagonist with a comedic name
One of the best franchise in gaming. I'm really glad I grew up with these classics. Original story, great game play, the espionage, all of it.
When the credits rolled in mgs4 and then showed bigboss' name, i had effin goosebumps
And until this day, i havent fully understood mgs completely despite not skipping cutscenes (as I often play and watch other pros play it)
Thank you for this video, my friend.
Lastly, Big Boss and Solid Snake will forever be legends!
Great video, loads of info! Looking forward to seeing more content 😀
Awesome, thank you! :D
who says this? "I look forward to more content" LOL
This is the best explanation of solid Snake I've heard I would love to see one for Big Boss and liquid snake not much is known about liquid snake
Glad you liked it! :) We will get around to more soon! :)
@@XPlore1 thank you 🙏
Looking forward to Big Boss and liquid snakes backstory
Except even though solid Snake knew CQC he didn't use it until metal gear solid 4 which is pretty cool actually because he kind of made his own version throughout the games that he is in where he doesn't use CQC he kind of makes up his own style of CQC which I've always thought is pretty cool
finally someone who explained this from a to z in a clear way. nice going man!
Thank you for this video. My favorite character in a videogame
It is not 2023, and I finally understand the story of metal gear solid...thank you for finally closing up this chapter and allowing me to move on lol
Nice illustrations of Solid Snake they look really good
Your explanation is remarkable, thanks for this man, really appreciate it.
This was awesome, would love to see one for all the mgs characters, mgs1 fav game of all time
You never mentioned how the Darpa Chief you met in the cell was actually Decoy Octopus
"I'm no hero. Never was, never will be..." *smokes a cigarette*
It's amazing this story managed to remain connected with all the retcons that happened. I mean even this video does not make a lot of sense with the plot twists and gotcha moments, yet somehow it's what makes it so special.
I remember getting introduced to MGS with MGS 4 (I know) played that game like 12 times and still it made no sense. Eventually I went back and played every other entry that ever came out and while I had the full story it still made very little sense but enough for me to become a fan forever.
GG on the video dude big boss would be proud!!!
Haha. Thank you! :D
I wish We had a Metal Gear Solid 6 that takes place just before Metal Gear 1 and 2 that gives us more insight in Big Boss and Snake's sort of Father/Son relationship.
That’s for confirming most of the things I only thought I knew, now I know😎 Fun video
My child brain unfortunately didnt understand the mechanics of MGS 1 when it came out so i gave up. Recently, as a man, I've gone back and played the series and am happy i did. The story of Big Boss and his sons is incredible, Solid Snake is the coolest soldier protagonist of any video game series.
There’s a lot of details wrong here but this is a complex story so I really don’t blame you.
Played all the games a million times. Here's what I learned:
Big Mama (Eva) was snakes surrogate mother (forgot)
Patriots were an AI.
Snake suffered nightmares and PTSD after the first metal gear.
Other than that, I knew the rest
Love this game, been playing every version from ps1,ps2 psp and ps4
this is such an excellent video, the combination of cutscenes for context and cinematic effect and your commentary of the story is such a short but complete telling of this crazy story. subscribed!
Wow, thank you! :D
I really miss Solid Snake it's been so long since we've seen him
they should remake the solid snake saga. mg, mg2, mgs, mgs2 & mgs4
If I could rewrite and blend stories I would've ended the Jason Bourne movie series with a tie-in to the Solid Snake series. Jason's real name was David too.
Awesome video, keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do! :D
I started at mgs4. I got stuck on the third act. So I looked for all the previous Metal Gear Solid game and the played 1, 2, and 3. I then went back to 4 and got passed the third, fourth, and fifth acts to beat the game. I have never enjoyed a game franchise as much as Metal Gear Solid. I the got peace walker and MGS5: Ground Zero and Phantom Pain. But 4 will always be my favorite. Cause started with Solid Snake.
Very well made synopsis on Solid, bravo
Glad you liked it! :)
I remember when i had my playstation 2 mgs3.. and there was ingame ads about the Ps3 and metal gear solid 4,, great times
They need to remake this series. Asap.
Snake didn't know he was cloned from Big Boss until Shadow Moses right? So he wouldn't have been contemplating killing his "Dad" after Zanzibar?
Snake thought BB was His phather, BB said that in mg1 or 2, that's why.
Yes an in depth discussion about Big Boss like this video would be great! 👍
"Kept ya waiting huh"
@Revolver Ocelot hmmm... You're pretty good
6th grade popped the shiny double disc into my ps1 after school and just immersed in the tactical espionage action
Retelling mgs4 and that big boss ending always tears me up
They need to turn this into a movie or series.
Amazing video. You’re pretty good!
So glad i randomly chosen MGS1 for ps1 as my birthday gift for myself with my bday money that day when I was years old 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I been hooked on the series ever sense...I remember like it was yesterday I had went to my local family owned game store in my neighborhood at the time the very next day after my bday...I had 155 dollars that was giving to my family at my bday party which toke place at my Granny’s house the previous day...I was walking Back n forth in the section for the PS1 atleast an hour wondering what new game I haven’t experienced and would think I would enjoy it was hell yo being that age and making a difficult chose knowing it was my money on the line to which rather the game I chose would be a good or a bad game I was so desperate not to chose a game I would not enjoy but I didn’t want a game that I had already played before I was craving for some new game ping blood...I walked back to the middle of the store and the cover of MGS1 caught my eyes I stood there for about 5 min. Mesmerizing the beautiful cover case the all white background with the orange title n the dead center of the case....and seeing that it was a 2 disc game which told me this is a very Long game...I decided to buy MGS1 but so nervous and anxious n hoping dear god that i would not regret choosing this game..I went home put the 1 disc and I just admit I really did not enjoy the intro and begging of the game so at those momment I was starting to shame and hate myself for choosing this game but as I pass the intro part and ran into the elevator as snake is revealing his self by taking off his scuba gear and rising up to the next level which was the snow level in Alaska shadow Moses I started to enjoy and was blown away with the story and I been hooked ever sense and I am 31 now have played all the MGS1 except for the ones for the nes...#longlivesolidsnake #longlivemeatagear thank u hideo for such an amazing game omg experience thru out my life 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥
Haha - watching the end credits after the gunshot - damn near in tears. Then I see a big boss voice actor credit (not David Hayter)...I remember shouting 'what the fuuuuuuuuyck' as the post credit scene kicks in...so cool
Amazing history video of one of my favourite characters!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome breakdown. I learned a few things. I've always been a fan!
I believe Solid was the only one who actually realized the Bosses vision. It’s not about changing the world it’s about leaving it the same
I really do wonder how that whole “variety of foster parents thing” worked when Snake was growing up. Also, how did they manage to keep EVA out of the mix? I wish there was an OVA or manga or something explaining David’s upbringing. Maybe with flashes of Eli and even George in there.
mk ultra mind control... probably had a bad home life, mentally abused constantly, got in lots of fights.. typical military brat upbringing but probably crafted a lot more carefully by psychologists... my upbringing is similar but im not necessarily an operative.. im more like 0 or something weird like that..
I would honestly just call them Snake, Liquid, and Solidus. No one gonna know them by their actual names. Especially Solidus
@@zero1zerolast393 Lol, you’re right. But *maybe* they would if there was an OVA or a manga or something.
Definitely need a similar video about big boss if it hasn’t been done yet.
Always like the Metal Gear series I remember playing the first few Metal Gears. I like Metal Gear Raiden I would definitely go back and play that.
Who is the artist that does the realistic, young snake early in the video? Those pieces are amazing
Amazing video.. thanks. My favorite videogame character ever
