As anyone who has ever played a Metal Gear Game will tell you, it has a lot of story and lore. Like.. a LOT of story and lore. The Bandana wearing legendary soldier is no exception, having more backstory and trivia than I ever imagined.

I wasn't ready for number one.
There was actually a reason for why Snake had darker hair.
Because David and Eli looked so similar, they decided to dye Snake's hair in addition to the trim to help differentiate them if they needed to.
It's either in the mission briefing or one of the early codec calls.
Watch the briefings again. He never mentions dying his hair. Furthermore, snake's hair is brown in both MG and MG2. The only instance in which his hair "appears" blonde is in the briefing. He's a brunette

i mean, canonically, we dont have anything official on his hair, cause there is could be many reasons, they retcon him being blonde and then the official designer for snake says he dyes his hair, and then retcon him to always being brown hair in twin snakes, which was a shitty remake. honestly, for all we know he could actually be blonde, but just prefers to dye it brown, hence why he has brown hair in the original mg games, and the reason he's blonde at the start of mgs1 could simply come down to him just coming out of a drunken, PTSD ridden depression and hasn't felt ready enough to dye his hair, we may never know now

[3:07] Both Solid and Liquid Snake originally have blonde hair, yes.. but...
Liquid keeps his long blonde locks and (if I remember correctly) Campbell instructs Solid Snake to cut his short and dye it brown, so it that it'll be easier for people to tell who's who. I think this is explained in the MGS1 briefing tapes if you listen to all of it.
It's indeed explained in the briefing tapes if you heard all of them, but it's not Campbell who suggests Snake to do it but rather Snake who decides by himself, and when asked by Naomi (if I remember correctly), he states that he doesn't want to be mistaken as the enemy.
Solid Snake has natural dark brown hair on Twin Snakes
@@luigifan001 ...hence the mention of the "rework." But in the original MGS for PSX (as stated above), his hair matched LIquid's and changed it because he didn't want to look like his brother.

I heard he was named David because of the Old Testament King David, the youngest of his brothers and who was viewed upon as the weakest (we learned that Solid's genes were actually the recessive genes of Big Boss, whereas Liquid got the dominant genes and Solidus was known as the "perfect clone" of Big Boss, thereby making Solid the generically weakest of the trio) but took down Goliath, a giant (any of the Metal Gears). Both even have an older brother named Eli.
Also, as MGS4 showed, both Zero and Big Boss misunderstood The Boss' will--a figure whom they pretty much deified in the series--trying to fulfill it their own way. However, arguably, only Solid was the one who fought for what she truly meant the whole time, as her philosophy from BB in MGS4's epilogue: fighting for what they believe in, while respecting everyone else's, much like how of the old testament kings, only David truly had that special relationship and understanding of God's character and goals.
Isn't this untrue though? It was told that Solid had the recessive genes and Liquid had the dominant, but wasn't that all a lie? That would mean that Liquid was always the superior clone compared to Solid, they just lied to Liquid the entire time.

@@kingkeefage from all the fact checking, its stated that Liquid always thought he was the weaker compared to Solid. Liquid indeed has Big Boss' recessive genes. Recessive does not mean weaker. All of Big Boss' weaker genes were dominant, which went to Solid.

Came here to say this. It's in the briefing videos in MGS1. It would be easy to miss as I only just saw it myself a few months ago and I played this game off and on when it was released.
The uploader says there was no explanation for it as he is playing the briefing tapes which literally explains why he changed his hair.
Actually there is a codec call where they ask snake about his hair and he says he didn’t wanna be mistaken for liquid.
Yep, though I'm pretty sure it's not in a codec but in one of the briefing files. I think he asks Naomi for scissors and cuts his hair, explaining that he doesn't want to be mistaken for Liquid (although I'm not sure how being mistaken Liquid would be more of a liability than an opportunity)

What I wouldn't give to live in that timeline where Solid Snake wrote a Black Widow spy movie. Sure all the reviews would've just been "You're pretty good," but it would've been worth it.
And I love that while Kojima was trying to get other actors as Snake, Nintendo and Ford are like "Okay, but David Hayter is the definitive Snake."

In MGS 1 snake cut his hair and dye it black so he won't look like liquid in the mission
Snake's hair was brown in the original Metal Gear games, before Liquid was even thought of.

@@GeneFOX70 yeah that not the original. It a remake and i know what i am about because i been playing MG to MGS all my life. Big boss and his son's are different from each other. But when they was making the games they had to re-use snake model from MGS2 for part 3 that he has brown hair but when they re-told the story of twin snake.
They use MGS2 snake model..
And snake still has brown hair is because of his brother.

4:51 Originally he was going to start the game with only a knife, but concerns were raised regarding age rating so they dropped it, only showing in MGS3, they had the same problem in MGS4 with the syringe where they almost had to drop it over pressure from Sony but managed to keep it in the end.

MGS2 when u meet up with snake. He first uses usp but when ur health drops to certain amount then he starts using m4.Its a good strat on higher difficulties to let yourself get damaged so he uses m4 and carries the second tengu fight

@@Beeyo176 that was how I first got into it as well lol. 13 years old and my dad bought me MGS2 for Christmas with my PS2 and I didn't have a memory card for months....I would just play for as long as I could then turn off...sometimes I would leave the ps2 on for hours until I came back home to continue lol.

Simply put... The greatest video game of all time. Solid Snake is the greatest video game character of all time. Lately, I've loved Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption and Uncharted. All great games with amazing characters. But nothing really comes close to Metal Gear Solid. Yes, it's very, very complicated. Yes it's super long to play through.. Yes at times it's weird... But honestly.. This series was my childhood. Play it. If you havent ever played it then get it played! And if you have played it... Play it again! I've never known there were novels based on the games though. They'll be getting bought and read soon though. Great video!

The last 3 rounds in the famas are actually just tracers. They don't actually effect likelihood of hitting Mantis. They do make it easier to aim however lol
not really Hedgehogs eats Snakes, but the Japanese voice of Eggman is voice by Akio Otsuka who also voices Solid Snake, Solidus and Big Boss in the MGS so indirectly Solid Snake is Eggman's VA in the Japanese not really because Hedgehogs eats snakes.
Metal Gear Solid stream when? Also, I think you should make a second channel for playing other games aside from Resident Evil. I personally don't mind stuff like this being on Ink Ribbon, but I know it is always a big concern of yours.

Snake's Revenge wasn't the official second part. It was just a non canon NES exclusive. Metal Gear 2 - Solid Snake was the official sequel and it wasn't Japan exclusive. it was released together with Metal Gear in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in 2005
