The two of you are so genuine. I watch many yacht channels. Many more powered boats than sailing. Your attitude, honesty, and openness makes this channel stand apart. I just completed watching the videos starting from "We bought a boat". You've convinced me to subscribe. So a big Hello from your newest subscriber in St.Louis Missouri USA. Thanks for having us alongside!
You guys did an amazing job. Sorry we put the pressure on you, I really had no idea how much work you had to do in such a small time frame. You did awesome and we loved staying aboard with you.❤❤
You guys didn't put any pressure on us at all, we def put all the pressure on ourselves, but in a good way. We were so grateful you could join us to share the beginning of our boat journey. Next episode is def worth a watch 😉
It’s difficult not to want to fix everything at once, but you can’t, so prioritise. We had fibreglass water tanks on our last boat but they were foul. They were pickled with osmosis inside and the styrene less leaching out. We painted the inside with a potable epoxy coating and replaced all the plumbing and it was as good as new.
Thanks you for your comment. Totally agree, the job list can really get out of control if you let it. We will dive deeper into the tanks in coming episodes so be sure to stick around. 👍
Great vid. I recognize that bewildered look you have. I'm renovating a 38ft 50 year old ferro yacht in nz an get that same look. 🤣. Keep battling you'll get there.
Great video. Keep them coming please. You seem so genuine. Did your parents arrive before Covid or after? What is the time frame of these videos? Where are you now. 👍👍
Thank you for your kind words..we really appreciate it! My parents arrived before Covid, so we are a little bit behind on our vids but with weekly releases we won't be too long getting up to date 😄
I just binge-watched from the 1st vid of the boat journey and had to subscribe, I want to see how she turns out. Once I seen Kieran on the sowing machine I could defo see him putting in a big effort for sure. Cheers to you both.
Thank you for your comment. A wad of money for sure 😂 but it's all been worth it! Its true what they say, sailing is the most expensive way to get places for free 😂
Great videos! You’re doing great. One thing at a time, a little less overwhelming then and you’ll get through it. Just a suggestion; insulate every bit of the hull that you can, especially since you’re already opening things up. Two people living on the boat and condensation is a issue. Insulating it will be a huge benefit to your comfort. (Keep your bedding dry, etc.) Thanks for sharing your experience / adventure. Pretty awesome to take the leap and go for it!
Thank you for the comment and the tips. Totally agree with condensation being an issue! We've insulated the hull in the V-Berth and it has made such a difference 👍
sailing jibsea last episode put insulation in their V berth But they need to check with some old salties in the marina and googlely that the material they used is suitable - have subbed good luck
Just found y'all. Like what I have seen so far. Looks like you have gotten your selves a nice boat. Sure there are some things that need to be addressed but that's how it goes on a boat from what I have seen with other sailing channels. Hang in there and before long you will be taking your new home to some amazing places.
@@alifeawry best thing is make new copies of water tanks - check out life on the hulls and others where they use composite foam and fibreglass sheets but also rebate all edges and holes to prevent water ingress - their is also special paint for inside water tanks
Great videos, keep them coming. Going back a couple of episodes you were looking at boats/ buying in 2019 - how up to date are you now? This episode uploaded 5 days ago, where are you at in real time?
Yes that's right, we have started sharing our boat journey from the beginning which was 2019. We are planning to release a video every Friday, aiming to catch up to real time. We are in Brisbane, we did a sailing trip up north Queensland recently. Check out our video 'what have we been up to' this gives you more of a real time update. Thanks very much for your comment and be sure to stay tuned for more 😉
Great idea with the Q&A, we'll start compiling questions we get. Stay stunned for the little man, he will make an appearance in the upcoming episodes..look forward to introducing him! 😄
Tell the parents to rent a air bnb or something for the length of their stay. Also I sure hope he removes all the rot from the bathroom instead of just slapping on a new countertop. I'm sure it's stressful but if you can't find happiness now you might as well go back to owning a home on land. Tackle one section of the boat at a time and you will be done before you know it. I'm guessing that you're in a marina paying monthly? Find someone local that has a piece of empty property either where they live or somewhere close by and have the boat hauled there. Then fix everything 100% before splashing it in.
Welcome aboard. We total agree, one step at a time. We have learnt so much already. Yes, all the rot was chopped out and the rest treated with some epoxy... Hopefully no more issues there for a long time.
Nice one
Thanks for the great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Nearly always the case, kinda like buying an old house, or even a new one!

If the Waters are metal why not just have 'em soda blasted or something?
Hi there, thanks for your comment. The watertanks are a fibreglass ply construction which makes it a bit tricky 😩
