Very inspirational channel guys. I’m a 65yr old VI guy, I hope I’m around in 20 years to see where your family has come to. I see a couple of well rounded kids growing up with confidence and a whole different attitude then most young people. You two are giving a wonderful life to your kids. Thanks for bringing us along!
There’s nothing more educational than travel for kids. No history book will replace hands on interaction with different Cultures. No one should ever question your Parenting because you are doing great.
The Best Sailing-Chanel with the most Heart-warming guys, really real-talking brave sailors, awesome open-minded human beings! Nothing more or less to say. My best wishes for fair winds, from Germany! YOU ROCK!
Plus your children's immune systems will be strong because of this. I'm big believer in not being to over protective and let kids be kids. You guys are amazing parents and great sailing family channel.
You never know how deep you can dig to do what needs to be done until you have the courage to do it. Thank you for being role models on dealing with life.
Ashley and Ben, I had followed Sailing Nahoa since before Wylla was born. I have such admiration for you both. I have seen your hard times and scary times and you are a team, a Team, you are real teammates. It makes me happy to see your strength and joy in life. Your attitude is inspirational. Fair winds and much love to you both and your cute children!
You've already provided SO many 'good memories' and we're only halfway through this lap!! One word describes your family, "Indomitable"! You've faced some incredible challenges with positivity and determination - and you Win every time! You promote wholesome Canadian Spirit and Values around the world. Thank you! Your children are SO lucky to have you - so are we viewers!
WE LOVE IT! What a great video. We have been following you guys from the beginning and this is a great recap. You touched on all the highs and some of the lows. I really like when you speak sailor talk. Both of your confidence in sailing makes the travels days so much fun to watch. We love you guys because you inspire each other, inspire your kids, inspire us. We love that you want to make a difference in the world, no matter where you go. This is what separates you from all the rest. You are constantly seeking out what others purposely avoid. I am not speaking of "dangerous". I am speaking of finding the less travel paths and meeting the people who live along the route. Thank you for bringing us along.
Hear! Hear! You show us the true adventure ,meeting the different cultures along with curiosity, respect and goodwill. Some US YT sailing channels spread their ignorance and intolerance wherever they go, unfortunately. We love your videos ,and will support you as long as you continue .
So happy you've made it this far, family intact. There are many sailing channels on TH-cam these days, however, few are really about the trip - sans T&A and partying. Your show and Sailing Florence are among the few that we feel are straight forward, honest epics with little hustle and more humanity. Here's wishing you calm seas and safety. We are Arcanum, a 40 Caliber LRC, heading south-by-southwest from Oregon late summer 2024. Things are about to change internationally. My suggestion is ... stay GONE from the N Hemisphere and learn Chinese (for radio calls : ). Perhaps we will one day meet? It is a small planet! Thanks for sharing your story for so many years. Pacific ...
I’ve spent the entire day binging your channel. This video popped up on my feed, I watched enough of it to think, hold up…Two babies on their boat on this amazing journey around the world?! So I put this video on pause and went back 6 years. I feel like I know you now. Your channel is probably the most raw and honest on TH-cam. You’ve shared your highs and lows, and everything in between. Ashley, you’re amazing and beautiful. If I I hadn’t seen your baby bumps I’d never believed you’d had two babies so recently. No after babies belly at all!! So j. Lol. Anyway, your children are amazing and I am so impressed with how you’ve chosen to raise them. Yes, they’re fine. And they’re blessed. To have parents that want them to see the world with them. I applaud you guys for living your truth, your way. You were blessed with the ability to live your dreams, and others should try it. While they can.
I follow several 'couple sailing' TH-cam channels - this one is right at the top. Such great spirit here. Thanks so much for all you share with us. Always stellar content and food for thought.
You are such a fantastic channel to watch. Such competent sailors showing such confidence sailing with small children!! Love watching your interactions with the locals in different cultures. Can’t wait for your next video.
This was a great recap of all your trials and tribulations, and yet you are truly blessed and amazing to complete your circumnavigation with such safe travels and you have incredible children and you both have such faith in each other. Love you all 🥰⛵️⛵️⛵️💕💕
HI, I have actually followed you guys for years all the way back to papua etc. This video was so incredibly inspiring. I followed you through all of the boat problems and everything you described and for me as well I thought "Man, these guys are never going to get going again" and THEN YOU DID! This video put it all together and raised both of you to another level. I have been to Madagascar as well and felt the poverty and also the simplicity and commonality of the people. You both are an incredible inspiration. Thank you for taking me along with you. I so appreciate your level headedness. Ashley - You rock! What a strong woman! Ben you are so capable - a womans dream! !!! Hee hee. Thank you so much. From Israel!!!
The way you raise your kids is great. I raised a toddler in deepest Africa. She loved it. Life was amazing. She ate dirt- it’s good for kids. She’s now 16 and never been sick a day in her life.
Your channel is the best, it’s real and you both show it all, the ups and down. You always prevail. Your doing a great job with your kids, life experience that most parents can’t give. Thank you for sharing it all. Can’t wait for the next video.
You are two Special people. When Ben was heading to CT Harbour . Roaring "Top of the World" I could see the stress of the last year submit to the pride and reality off " We have made it"!
What a great perspective on the trials and tribulations of the last year. Sooo glad to hear "quit" is not a part of your vocabulary, but "regroup" is. Looking forward to more of your journey, stay safe, stay well, and thanks for bringing us all along...
Best video yet. Nice to compile so many experiences into one video. I am 79 now so probably won't be off on any similar adventure but am fully capable of traveling with you, albeit vicariously. Always looking forward to your next video.
Rooting for you guys to make it to wherever you are planning your journey to go. It is obvious both of you are more than capable to deal with any challenge that will comes your way.
An inspirational wholesome family, Having an amazing adventure making awesome memories! Thanks for doing things right and sharing it with us the viewers! Finding this channel was the best thing to come out of lockdown.
I accidentally came upon your videos on TH-cam. I watch a lot of videos of women in Iran, who dig caves and make block houses. and raise children and there you guys were and I’m just so impressed that you sold your house and took life by the reins and went on these marvelous adventures I wish I had a husband to do these types of things with maybe in the future I will but I really loved watching your adventures
I want to come sailing with you guys! I'll be your live aboard nanny! I have a year left of nursing school and once I pass the NCLEX I want to experience this lifestyle so badly. You are both so inspiring and the fact that youre doing it with two small children is just next level. You should be so proud of yourselves.
I’m full of admiration for you guys and your open minded acceptance .The world is full of tech savvy people and streetwise kids, technology leaps ahead at an astounding pace , things that were science fiction as little as 30/ 40 years ago are part of everyday life today yet we are afraid of everything all the dangers all the terrible things that MIGHT happen today tomorrow or next week . But let’s face it the world always has been full of dangers from the dinosaurs to the atom bomb and everything in between that doesn’t mean we have to live in fear or teach our children to do so . I don’t remember who said it but life is not a rehearsal we’re only here once , and you’re making it count . Thank you for sharing your adventure with us .
9:41 " 30 minutes in, how're ya feeling Ashley?" The giggle says it all!!!! LOL..Always : " Listen to the locals, and your own inner voice" Onward..TEAM NAHOA!
If I were to write everything, I thought and felt watching this it would probably be an essay. I like how nothing gets sugarcoated. Perfect picture of Table Mountain with the tablecloth on, passing the Point is special to many sailors (or so I've heard), Fabulous channel, it has become my favorite. Think I just might binge watch from the first episode AGAIN.
Well guys , how amazing . Having sailed / motor'd with a few boats over the years i felt such envy and admiration. I moved to Fiji 20 years ago with our 4 children about yours ages. They still talk about their times there and the freedom it gave them . Funny how they remember somethings and not other's. Take care of your amazing family and thank you for sharing. Kind regards Paul ❤
I think it is great that you are doing this with your kids at this age. once they will be in middle - high school, you won't have time. And they will have had this great experience young.
Really well done video. Really a documentary of your adventures, hardships and joys. I have been throuh a lot of this stuff with my wife and I as crew. Although we cruised with the kids out of the nest. (Much easier) but still young enough. But you guys went through a LOT more hardships than we did. Tougher areas, weather and with little KIDS. Wow, you are both amazing. And although we. Has an older monohull ( Kelly Peterson 44). We in 10 yrs on that boat cruising, we never had any significant problems. Just the usual. No structural issues. The worst mechanical break down we had ( the only that I couldn’t fix myself was we lost the transmission) and limped into a remote port in extreme south Mexico. We got it rebuilt for a fifth of what it would have cost in the US or Canada. So I know that you really went through a lot of adversity and hardships. And you did it with amazing attitude and ability. Congrats and looking forward to your ALUMINUM cat!!!! Great choice.
I have to say only one thing. everything that you said about fear is only fear itself, and when you make it past those minor insignificant thoughts in your mind you will more then likely prevail. Fear is a mindful thing!
Bugger the naysayers. We are but an insect on the wall looking at what's going on. I enjoy your vids more than ever. I'm 59 and disabled. You live my imagination for me. Just do what your doing, and take me away each week from my pain. Love your way.
Best Channel out there. You guys keep raising those beautiful kids just like you are. Let the worry warts just keep on worrying. What you are giving those kids is amazing and they will thank you once grown. I love your messages for all of us watching. Thank you for taking us around the world with you. I’m getting to see the world now through your eyes!!!!
Thanks so much. We just got our catamaran in Dec 2020. We sail for about 4 months a year. First day we had it we lost a propeller and it took 6 weeks to get a new one. So many challenges but like you say, the first time is the hardest and each time it gets a little easier and less stressful. We did a complete refit on the boat last year including electric engines and this year we are wrapping up our season and it was wonderful. Your message resonated with me so much. Thanks for sharing.
You guys are the BOMB!!! I feel it sad that you have to justify your children's life and your lifestyle when actually this is the richest education one could hope for. They are learning from day one that the World is full of experiences of all kinds. Much admiration and respect to ya'll.
Love you guys, this channel brings me so much peace. Serenity, is the feeling that comes to mind. I live in Michigan, I work hard every day to feed my family, and the peace this brings me is appreciated. It's neat when you guys sit down together and talk to us, it's very personable.
Terrific video. Amazing sailors, amazing family. The thing about 'this is the most dangerous place to sail..' A lot of this is from the days of no weather, waves, condition forecasting - you got there when you got there and the conditions were the conditions. I'm not sure I would've wanted to sail the world in the 1970s, but now? In a couple of weeks I'm headed Vietnam, with my Starlink dishy. Weather? We'll have Iridium, but we will probably be getting full Predict Wind in color. We'll be on a catamaran. In the north Pacific we'll probably be watching Apple TV and you guys HD!
I have been inspired by and learned from your videos for years. This is one of your best ever. Clearly "its not all plain sailing" and the honesty and emotion of this video shows through. There will be people who commit to adventures because of the life you share. I will be one of those people. Thanks so much. 😀
Such a great recap. The video editing was marvelous. Enjoy the preparations in Cape Town for the next leg of the journey. God speed and stay safe with your little family.
Great timing for your video, I am in the middle of a home renovation and changing out 65 year old piping is a nightmare and now I have have electrical issues. You have given me motivation to get back on it. Enjoy your videos
Words can not describe how in awe I am with your channel, your family and specifically with the two of YOU! You truly rock. What an inspiration you are (and I'm not even a sailor!). #Goals
Watching your channel helps to realize that keeping on going even through the tough times is essential to getting to the goal posts. Thanks for your inspiration.
To comment on people telling you about how your putting your kids in a certain situation. These people are talking from a perspective of not being sailers the themselves. You are already in the situation and then introducing them into it so you already know your capabilities. So kudos to y’all and being able to live that life! Keep going and much love your way!
What great chapters you have in your book of life, and not you're simply just beginning a new chapter.... You & your family lead an admirable and envious lifestyle. Fair winds to your next destination.
Hi guys, I'm a first time commenter! Just like to say say you guys are so inspirational, seriously! You put life into a real perspective. You are so right, we listen to two many people in our lives in making a decisions. Go with what you feel is right, the old 'gut feeling'! I have been watching your channel for many years now. You guys have been thrown a curve ball along the way and you always get through. When life throws you guys lemons, you guys definitely make lemonade! Keep up the awesome work......living your dream!
Some ppl live life take chances learn lessons gain wisdom that what other ppl say is solely based on their own experiences an fears... Don't live life by others stories .. be like Ben & Ashley. Have confidence in your own abilities. An live damn it live!!! I've been homeless with an autistic son an husband 3 years!! Motel living. Grateful for what we have each other. .you only need your wits an lived experience.... I choose happiness above all ..!! This was a great episode!! I worry but ultimately I kno your both more than compident .. Ppl who live life do.. ppl who watch others live.... Comment!!! Thanks for sharing your lives with us grateful for the lesson's and wisdom shared.....
I wish all the sailing channels would do these kind of periodic retrospectives. I watch most of y'all's videos anyway, but there are so many sailing youtubers these days that I'd like to lowkey follow without investing 40 hours a week watching everybody. But also, you two have a big picture, long term perspective that isn't just bouncing from one beach party to the next. It's good to be able to hear what you think of the last 6 months, not just what you thought about it in the thick of it. Thanks!
It is So Cool to see your Dreams Come True and Showing Us the Ups and Down in the Life of Sailing. You Four Please be Safe and Hope to see you sail home to Canada. Peace
You guy's are truly amazing. Such great ambassators of Canada and BRITISH COLUMBIA in particular. THANK YOU for bringing us along with you and your adventures, sharing your life with us. I may not ever get to these terrific places though I've longed to do so for an entire lifetime, seeing these places thru your eyes is still wonderful. CHEERS AND FAIR WINDS Steve h.
Good on you guys you have achieved so much and all while having two kids as well. Particularly impressed with your fixing your bridge deck issues. After all others have spent a year or so doing these sorts of repairs certainly not with kids and family on hold en route in a pit stop.
Nice to see people sailing and going. Most channels show partying with friends and not much sailing. Love the kids. Looks like a real fun time. Enjoy it. Tempest fugit. Watching from Orlando, Florida
Love watching you guys. I would never do what you have done. So much admiration. What lucky children you have. Both of you are calm and so much love and trust in each other.
Excellent video, very reflective! You guys just keep getting back on that horse and never give up. What an amazing family you have, you should be proud & confident in raising two fantastic well rounded children. 🤗💞
Great channel. Good for you. You both are level headed. What a life story. It is said the Red Sea didn't part until Moses " took the first step" into the water. Carry on dear ones.
Nahoa last year takeaway: you two are sugar coating it on most of your videos! Hahah! Totally get it, don't offend anyone by telling us: Maldives SUCKS (except the part that didn't). 🌺😍 So glad you made it!! Rose colored glasses, thank goodness for them!
I had the same problem with the diesel tank, solved installing inspection ports made by Vetus, model ILT120. They are easily opened, no screws. I also used a biocide in the thank, Actioil A550.
Just love you guys. So well explained and to see how as a family, you four have lived in your private life. How you take care of your kids and how lovingly you take care of them and how patiently you both are with your kids. So well you have shown us your life you have lived in your house on the water with all the ups and downs you both have faced and still smilingly happy. God bless both of you and your kids. Love watching your videos in Mumbai, India.
Great video . Watched you from the beginning of your sailing life. Long may you continue in safety and happiness, with Willa and Bodi as crew. Wonderful, beautiful family. 👌👍
I watch every episode (and try to comment too - algorithms), so I did not need to pay a lot of attention to this one, but I played the whole thing anyway. Glad I did, as I had forgotten how much you two dealt with on this leg. You are both an inspiration and I appreciate you. I am going to do this and I have learned a few things from you. Got my license this year, getting some experience around here with some old salts racing smaller boats, still working, saving, raising older teens, but one day......
Well I was terribly worried about you, but never lost faith in your abilities to persevere and overcome adversities. You are an amazing family with delightful kids, an awesome home and undeniable courage. I hope I can figure out how to become a Patreon to support you better. I’m admittedly crummy at computer stuff, and cannot “play” with it to figure out how to do things, but in time I’ll figure it out. Best wishes to my favorite tubers!
you guys are great and doing a great job as parents. We spent some time on Zingaro and realized it's really living this life you lead and to raise children in this life is a great thing, land life has many dangers as well but life on the sea is what I feel is the best way to live a full life. On land we sometimes miss what it means to really live but you guys are able to raise a family in the purist form. Keep it up and again I think you're doing a great job
Thank you for your honesty about all the obstacles you have been through to follow your dreams. Life IS hard but you are a good examples of the joy that comes to you when making an effort. Well done!! I hope you take some time now for some rest and relaxation. All best to you all from cold Denmark.
Very inspirational channel guys. I’m a 65yr old VI guy, I hope I’m around in 20 years to see where your family has come to. 7:25 - one way to distinguish 'dedicated' from 'committed': like egg & bacon breakfast - the chicken is dedicated, the pig is committed. You get it.

Love you guys, this channel brings me so much peace. Serenity, is the feeling that comes to mind. I live in Michigan, I work hard every day to feed my family, and the peace this brings me is appreciated. It's neat when you guys sit down together and talk to us, it's very personable.
Great authentic content! Thank You!!
Ben Ashley, you guys are AWESOME parents! Your kids live what they know. I wish i could be half as adventurous as you guys🤙
I admire your tenacity; most would have given up with the problems you have encountered.
See ya last season. Cheers to boat work and the season that lies ahead. 🍻
#Goals
Your channel is my Netflix! ❤
“Bodhi ate some rocks and he was fine…” 😆
Hi guys, I'm a first time commenter! Just like to say say you guys are so inspirational, seriously! You put life into a real perspective. You are so right, we listen to two many people in our lives in making a decisions. Go with what you feel is right, the old 'gut feeling'!
I have been watching your channel for many years now. You guys have been thrown a curve ball along the way and you always get through. When life throws you guys lemons, you guys definitely make lemonade!
Keep up the awesome work......living your dream!
What a wonderful life for children!! They get to see and experience so much and with their parents.
This is why my next boat will be called “ One More Thing!” Keep on trucking!
I completely agree with your philosophy of rearing children. When there's no room for tantrums, there are no tantrums.
Great recap of your trip and all the hurdles you overcame. Looking forward to more adventures!
Fantastic to hear how you cope with it all, great content.
Thanks!
Maybe your best “episode ever. Thanks so much for sharing.
Congratulations!!!! What can I say good luck and let your sail life be a breeze.
Nice! So many messages from your travels. Thanks for the recap.
You two are quite fabulous. Thank you for sharing your ups, downs and beautiful scenery. ❤️
I admire the determination you both share.
Thanks for sharing this video you have already done so much I am sure this is just another of many accomplishments yet to come.
What a year ! Keep it positive....
Congratulations you all 👌 👏 👍
Well I was terribly worried about you, but never lost faith in your abilities to persevere and overcome adversities.
Clever, enjoyable summary video. You made it. Hurrah!
you don't owe anyone an explanation about raising your kids. you do you.
really interesting recap! Onward! Your kids are doing amazingly well I think.
Great attitudes. Perseverance. Priceless memories. You guys are pretty awesome. 👏 🤙
I miss Cape Town...
Love watching you guys, you don't gloss things over. Keep it real...
Thank you for your honesty about all the obstacles you have been through to follow your dreams. Life IS hard but you are a good examples of the joy that comes to you when making an effort. Well done!! I hope you take some time now for some rest and relaxation. All best to you all from cold Denmark.
Great video ~ you're doing a wonderful job with your children.
Absolutely loved this episode. Well done guys. keep Sailing....
Love watching your videos. You both are great parents and keep them very safe.
Thanks for another great video. I always enjoy them.
