I’ve been thinking about barndominiums for a while now. Wanted a large garage/shop and a decent amount of living space. This is exactly what I had imagined. Dream home right here.

I was a serious Wood Turner for 14 years as a "hobby" (not profession), and now that I'm older getting closer to retirement, I'd love a place with a wood shop I could turn and make furniture in. Still in a little apartment though. But, this sure makes me think. I'm sure the build out you've shown would be way out of my budget though. But still, was very nice to see. Thanks for the video.
I've been looking at the standard Hickory Floor Plan. But this floor plan looks way better. I love the storm/gun room, great idea! There are a few minor changes to door placements, and since I need a space for my hobby, I need a huge loft area. Have you ever built half a vaulted ceiling? I was thinking of having the ceiling at 9 feet over the kitchen but have the living room with the ceiling vaulted to expose the center beam. Then, the loft could be open, looking down into the living room from either above the kitchen or master bedroom. The loft would then be accessible from the garage by way of a staircase and a vertical lift. The loft would comprise of a space above the bedrooms and just the kitchen area. I would also replace 3 of the overhead doors with 8 foot tall x 9 foot wide barn doors. I also need some walls added to the garage area. And a people door is located next to the barn door on the front of the garage area. Do you offer a custom design floor plan workshop?

Loved it unil i saw the master bath/bed layout. Let's put my saferoom/gun room in the humid bathroom. Entering the master through the bath? NO! I know you do what the customers asks for, otherwise great job!
Master bedroom needs to be in the back of the house. Being next to the garage will wake anyone in there up if you come home late. Plus the layout would flow better.
Looking at the floor plan at the start of the video, looks like the costumer didn't want a door in the master bedroom going into the master bathroom then changed his mind at finished construction.
Wonder if they messed up drawing out the floor plan. I wouldn't want to go all the way around inside to house to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
I appreciate barndos but i ask why a black roof in Texas? They would standout at the very least...not to mention act as a heat magnet. Great floorplan.
At 0:18, your floor plan of the home shows no door to the master bedroom to the master bathroom. At 11:57, you walk through the master bathroom door into the master bedroom. At 5:42, the full bathroom does not have sliding glass doors. It is a solid glass wall and with a glass door. If it was a sliding glass door. It would be frameless without a Frame holding the glass in place with brackets holding the glassxin place. In the picture, you got 2 brackets on the bottom right and frame going across the top holding the glass in place. The 2 brackets on the top left and bottom left. Is for you to open you glass door out to get in the shower.
Beautiful design , how come no step / ledge at that shower entrance in the master bedroom …I would be leery of water running over , even if the shower floor is slanted towards the middle .
It is a nice laid out house but the blue and the green don't go together. I like that is not all white because I am so ick of all white kitchen's. The grey is nice the cultured white bathroom will be a pain to keep clean.
So.....the sky is blue and the grass is green. I think they go beautifully together! Guess you'd have to argue that with the big architect!👆above!! Lol!!! Just sayin'. 😎😎😎
I have read comments new houses costing $200 to $300 a square foot. Just the living quarters could cost $336k to $504k. Barns sadly do not have good loan or resale value as houses. I am sure they are less maintenance but not as pretty. I have wanted a barn house all my life. Recently I was told barn kits have came down. You can get a 30'×60' for around 18k with out doors, window and concrete. But I have a feeling the economy keeps going down houses will start getting cheaper as people default on them.
I want to start my own shop and do one of these i feel like it would be more cost efficient instead of building buying a shop and a house i could do lots of the work on my own and what i dont know i know lots of ppl in the industry still wont be free but i feel like i could do this
Not really seeing where the big screen tv would go in the living room. I think I'd loose the window next to the front door and place it there. TV is a must have.
My guess on Cost. 1700 sq’ living space @ $155.00 sq’ = $264,000. 1700 sq’ garage @ $45 sq’ = $76,500 lot price $75000 for a few acres. Total guess price = $415,500
How sound proof is rooms i have a kb home i had built in 2002 when tv on or people talking i can hear what's going on in next room and if people talking outside im sure its the same or worse if i can hear the echo when your talking , whats in the walls to keep sound in that space

Well, I'm a bit disappointed. When I saw your title, I fully expected a couple of 12x12 box stalls in that garage. Darn!! I've always wanted a home where my horse could hang his head out into my livingroom! I keep my barn and box stalls cleaner than my home, so there would be no oders to worry about! It's silly I know. But it would be cool, in my dream world! Lol!. Why tho', don't you give a price? I know these are custom buildings, but like a base price would be nice, just so a person would kinda know what they're looking at. Just sayin'. All in all I like what I saw in this video!! 😎😎😎

You should he put the kitchen next to thegarage, and put the bedrooms on the far end. That layout is not good, but the building is beautiful.

Your plan does not show an door to the bathroom in from the master bedroom.
There is a door there. It’s just not shown. It opens into the bathroom.
