      Curious what the cost per sqft was on this one? All that insulation, paneling on the garage/shop, 2nd floor expansion, and that kitchen seemed pretty $$$. I am trying to be realistic in pricing out my build.

      @Texas Best Construction.
      Very nice work. Really like what I’ve seen. Today was my introduction to your work. So glad this came across my notification. Know I am out of your service are. In Alabama. Great area for this type of construction. I’m interested. Can you assist or would you be able to possibly sell any of your floor plans and or standards/specs for this type of build. Saved your website however did not see any floor plans. Just watched 3 of your finished builds videos. I’m very impressed and interested in how and or if you would be willing assist for those out of your service area. Used to live in Texas. Wish still did. Had brother in DFW area for years as well as Father mother in Fort Hood area ( father retired there). Many good memories in and of Texas.

    BRAVO to home owner embracing the ceiling. Taking those kitchen cabinets to the ceiling makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE with that volume in height. Otherwise, it appears you ran out of money. Same in the bathroom, tiling (or back splashing in the kitchens) all the way to the ceiling is an expense you MUST account for. No exceptions. The end product will always convey a richer more finished product.
    Window treatment is the same. take your material all the way up regardless of the height of your window casing, it will always convey luxury.
    Another bravo to finish out dry wall all that is underroof. Spectacular. It may not be the largest, but if you put pencil to paper, I think this is the largest total interior complete finish work you have done. This is my favorite TBC to date. Well done on the collaboration!

  • @teslinjoe5938
    @teslinjoe5938 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I LOVE the cabinets going to the ceiling. Eliminates all the dust and nasty that accumulates in the gap between the cabinets and the ceiling that is out of sight, out of mind until you go to clean up there and then have to go take a shower afterwards while you feel guilty for letting it get that bad.

    Love that you took the cabinets all the way to the top. In the house I live in they had a foot of extra space in the kitchen that they walled off and put decorations on instead of using for storage

    I love the upstairs! I am a card crafter. I also make gift boxes and decorate them. That upstairs would make a great craft room and office. The closet would be great to house all of my card stock and designer paper in. I have a lot of designer paper and card stock. I love this house but would love it better if the kitchen was a bit bigger and had a big pantry in it. But overall, I love this place. The garage is fantastic. Just added extra living space. Well done! The owners are very blessed.

    This barndo is simply exquisite. I personally wouldn't choose all the brown tones, but the overall design, finishes and amenities are spectacular. I love the upstairs flex space and the shop, which is a flex space in itself. I'd like to build something like this as my forever home when I retire in about 10 years. Well done!

    Josh, in my opinion, this is by far the best barndominium you have built. 👍 It is not over the top, overly fancy, nor extravagant. It is nice size living space and shop done VERY VERY well in all respects. Congratulations! I am sure you and Brandy must be very proud of it. You should be. You guys do a great job with your videos, almost at a professional level. What makes it special is that you come across as good ol' country folk, in a genuine style, not the fake 'country folk' style that is too often portrayed in many high production cost videos. You also come across as being trustworthy - a trait that's way to seldom seen in your industry anymore. Nicely done.

    Only thing I'd have done in the 2nd floor, was to our the bathroom at the end where the windows are and put a full size claw foot tub under the window. I'm not a cramped shower fan. The big oval shower curtain holders look old and cool. You could have even used a water trough like old west bathtubs. It would still be so private. The opportunity to take a shower or bath, and relax at night looking out at the sky just brings my blood pressure down naturally. I've loved the idea of doing something like this, and I love your building ideas. The cabinets all the way up are the only way to go.

    I knew the hilltop was gonna be special when I saw the early build video, but man! It is the perfect place for 2 people. I would love this layout. They picked perfect interior options. 👌 Also never considered lack of duct work as being a plus for the split ac's. I'm allergic to everything outside it feels like so those are calling to me. The kitchen cabinets to the ceiling and fitted in with that beam. 😀 I also want to do the lower drawer cabinets in our forever house after I saw them on til vacuums channel, they just make so much sense, especially for anyone who loves to organize. Also that closet and laundry set up is perfection. 🥰 Oh and the barn door in front of the laundry. Who ever has to put that together when I get one is gonna hate me. 😂 Have a lovely day. 👍

    Having cabinets go all the way to the ceiling has it's advantages although they can require a step ladder to reach.
    Benefits.
    1. Offer better structural support to the cabinet system.
    2. Offer more cabinet space (obviously) / storage.
    3. You dont have to dust on top of the cabinets and the things you put there.
    4. Overall, IMHO it looks better but some argue it looks more cluttered.
