@@TheWokeWarlock I’m glad you’re so knowledgeable and informed. Me being in the mortgage business for a good time, I don’t see what’s going on at all. Please show us your sources of information.
Thanks for the tour! We went the other direction with a tiny prefab 600sq/ft Barn for corner remote office for the wife and use for vehicles and projects etc.
Never forget: Rugs, Long Black-out curtains, Chandeliers (for the dining room), blinds; these are a few items that can differentiate the spaces in your home and also increase the aesthetics.
Out of the hundreds of these home tours I’ve watched this is the first dog wash station I’ve seen. When I had my house built that was one of the first things I insisted on having.I just bought the stainless steel style you find at most do it yourself places.
I'm either going build a Barndo, or an ICF house. In my area you need deep frost footings, so it's cheap to just add square footage with a basement. If I'm already doing an ICF basement it's 10x easier and faster to just carry the ICF up to the roof rather than switch to post frame. ICF seems like the way to go for me. Much easier to manage myself without major equipment. I'll do a large metal building garage/shop.
Change out the 120v recepticles in the utility room to GFI. ( code requires any outlet within minimum of 36", ( in some places greater than 36" ) of a water source must be ground fault protected. Don't do it because its the code or because I say you should. Do it because it may save someone's life.
I am 100% into the idea of building a barndominium and as much as I like this walkthrough of the home itself, my only criticism is that with all the open space the bathroom is that small LOL otherwise this was a nice review.
Sure wish I could get my wife onboard with this style of home. This is something I could build myself, with key items being contracted out and without breaking the bank.
Does she have other options? Mine has followed me all over the country/world for 32 years. I guess she understands a free roof over her head beats personal wants/wishes every time.
@@remoevans7847 Yeah, my wife can do whatever she wants. After 15 years, that's a pretty good indicator she wants to be with me. Your wife has no options in life other than a free roof over her head?
I'm a huge fan of these buildings! I put up a small 2 car barndo with an apartment up top and I love it! Lower cost and I can tear it down and sell or reuse a lot of the main materials when I build my next one!
Huge house. Dinky pantry at 8:36. Large laundry is a plus. I would have installed several smaller square windows for privacy but still plenty of light in the master bath.
Beautiful layout, I've been looking to build something like that on our mountain property in Colorado. One of our neighbors did it, and it looks great. They actually setup a pull-through garage because they have an RV trailer they keep in there, and it is much easier to pull straight through. Who provided your supplies?
Sir, is that what it cost you even with excavation and labor, or did you do most of the work yourself. I'm just trying to get an idea of what a barndo this size would cost for a complete build.
Awesome home you've got there! Might rethink the electric outlet below the surface f the lavatory top. It is against the code in most places and is just a bad idea- the national standards want them `2' above the flood rim of the fixture.

Never seen any of your videos so a quick recap on how you only spent seventy bucks per sqft would have been awesome. Your house is rad congrats on its completion 👍🏼
I agree. Felt a little odd to start in the super messy garage 😮 Also I’m curious about the waterproofing on that unfinished dog wash station. It doesn’t look wrapped under the tiles.

I always find these videos interesting! Where do you live? I am just about finished with my Barndominium (2,400 living and 2,400 shop). I did everything excepted I subbed out the labor for the concrete slab ($15,000) and drywall ($15,000) a total of $30k in labor. I did all the rest of the work myself. I am at about $166 per square foot based on the square footage of the living area. I don’t have near the upgrades that you have. Also, this does not included the cost of the land and about 3 weeks of site work.
Amazing!!! Great job and wish you the very best. Very brave of you guys and very inspirational. Do any of your videos show the flor layout or include a floor plan ing?
Where did you get the freestanding tub drain assembly from? And also the tub faucet. Not many are available or easy to find for a slab installation. Thanks
Your floors look just like my floors when I built a house. I don’t know how you did it but we threw out powder into the wet concrete and then the finishing machine swirled it all in.

Thank you Jamie! Our porch post are 8x8s (soon to have bricks around the bottom to cover the braces) hopefully that answers your question!! Depending on how big your barndo is you can never have a big enough front porch. ;)
Beautiful home! Question about sound isolation with metal exterior sheathing - does it compare to stick built houses or do you notice more noise from outside? Also, for drywalling the interior did you use bookshelf girts?
How is the strength of these buildings? Stronger or weaker than normal homes, better in a storm or worse? What’s the pro’s and con’s in term of how it is to live in?
