I’ve had and seen more problems with new moog parts than any other brand. I will run parts master part’s before moog. I’ve had 3 moog idler arms go bad in a span of 4 years across 2 vehicles. I have ran TRQ parts with great results, there’s a gmc canyon running around town I put TRQ hub assembly’s on 5 years ago and it’s still going strong.
I tried to use Moog tie rods ends on my 99 Explorer, everytime I tightened them to the knuckle the boot popped off and was just hanging there, seems like the metal ring wasn't tight enough. Took them back and got some precision parts and those have held up perfectly. Come to find out that Moog has seriously gone downhill as they moved most of their production to China and cut a lot of their quality control. Also threw 1A upper control arms on my 02 Mercedes S class, it's been fine and honestly I can't tell the difference between OEM and the TRQ ones, I'm curious how long they'll last though.
That’s to bad to hear about the Moog parts. I’m glad you have had good luck with the TRQ parts though! Like I said I replaced everything in the front end and all the other 1A Auto parts have held up just fine! Thanks for watching!
@@jhawk1776 I just ordered a front end kit for the Mercedes, we'll see how it rides and how long it lasts. Even the expensive/OEM manufacturers don't make greasable parts for it so we'll see.
Not to many parts are greasable… I don’t discount parts that aren’t though because Motorcraft front end parts aren’t and I’ve had them last for a long long time.
I had a 98 Expedition (basically same thing as your truck underneath) and changed the fuel pump myself, which I swore I'd never do again. I got what was supposed to be a Delphi part off Amazon and it arrived with no packing in the box, part banging around in there, missing pieces off the part, and no instructions or anything. I went ahead and put the part on there anyway and all was ok until the truck just didn't crank one day and I had to now not only pay for what I was avoiding the first time (a $900 job by the mechanic) but I had to get it towed there as well). I never had a problem with the fuel pump again, and the mechanic told me he'd never seen anything like that garbage part. It wasn't a Delphi and he literally chuckled while talking about it. He told me don't ever order auto parts off Amazon again as they have too many issues with fraud, so I never have and never will again. Glad you got yours straightened out though.
I've never bought parts from them but I did buy some TRQ struts for my 2004 Golf. Someone said A-1 use those parts. They didn't last 3 months before they started knocking.
One thing to consider is that just because a part is new, doesn't mean it's good. It could have been a one-off kind of thing that you happen to have one that slipped past quality control and if you had gotten another one from 1A auto, it may have lasted you $100,000. Unfortunately there's no real way to know.
Issue with 1A Auto, is I believe that they are not a parts manufacturer themselves. This is similar to Napa, Autozone, Walmart and other stores, that just sell re-badge parts/liquids. So in my experience with companies that rebrand products, is that their quality will vary widely and sometimes even with the same part.
I never had issues with TQR parts but no company is perfect. I wish you luck with moog I kinda stay away from them they no longer do quality parts like before. Moog has been adding plastic to their ball joints if you cut them open you'll see. But I think all companies are manufacturing subpar parts nowadays.
The good old 6.4 is still around and doing just fine! It’s more of a camping/weekend rig now though. I will be posting an update video on it soon! Thanks for watching!
I replaced the entire front end on a 2007 liberty with a1 autos kit. Six months later, last week, the passenger ball joint separated. Thankfully I was pulling into my driveway. I replaced it with a duralast, and went ahead and ordered a MOOG for the other side. While I was replacing, I realized how much play was now in the tie rod ends as well. Flick it with your pinky and it moves type of play. Hopefully the UBJ lasts, because I do not want to do the UCA again
Wow that’s the kind of EPIC failure I was worried might happen if I didn’t get this changed. Glad it didn’t happen to you at 70 on the highway. Hopefully the Moog stuff holds up better. Thanks for watching!
I've had the same thing happened to my lower ball joint which had a 2 year old lower control arm with very low miles. That's bs that they are allowed to sell this crap
That’s not to surprising! In my experience Motorcraft parts are very very good! This truck was totally abused before I got it and I’ve been slowly putting things right. Thanks for watching!
I ordered a wheel bearing from 1A Auto for my mechanic to press in and it did not fit the car. I had to quickly go to the local auto parts and pay a higher price for one. I had no choice as they had my car apart already. I had the part at home way past the time they’d allow for a refund. They would send me a second one but I had to return the old one with return shipping at my expense. The replacement would be the same exact model number according to my car. No way to know if they had a screw up in their computers or someone mistakenly put the wrong part in that one box. Either way, the new part was already installed and would not fit on the other side.
I mean honestly bro you get what you pay which is fair or atleast as long as you actually get what you ordered but ya like I just ordered two front cv axle assemblies for $160 if they last me two months I will have gotten four times what they’re actually worth and I won’t be upset they’re very simple to replace on my old Chevy and $$160 w free shipping is pocket money in this economy so as long as they get me to work until my next check it’s not a serious deal if I wanna go off-roading or rip through gears on the highway I’ll happily go spend the money on performance parts, but these don’t have performance prices can’t expect them to have performance quality
1-a auto doesn't build parts, they're a distributor like O'Reillys or really any other parts house. Most stuff is built in China these days, with a focus on profit rather than durability. Unfortunately its the world we live in anymore. 😢
Although Ford trucks are known for being hard on steering components, yr. video displays a very bad problem w/current replacement parts available here in the US. The Chinese have cornered the market for most replacement parts & their stuff is junk! Be very aware that even name brands yr. familiar with are made there. Check any stuff you buy for the country of origin. Sometimes there is no option, as even dealer parts ( oem) can be imported. It sucks, but that's where we are now.
just in case you are interested they make ratching breaker bars i picked one up on line and at HFT works grate
What did it feel like driving down the road trying to diagnose my own idling arm

Some Moog parts are made in China now like control arms, you can tell which suspension parts are made there because the lack the grease fittings.

What happend to the 6.4

Did you get rid of your 6.4?
Nope! Still have the good old 6.4! She is more of a camping/weekend rig now. I will be posting a 6.4 update video soon!

My 98 150 4 WD idler arm is original Motorcraft and still tight with nearly 200,000 miles! Lucky I guess!

Ive never had problems with 1AAuto car parts.
That’s great! I think for most things they are just fine and completely adequate!
would you recommend buying from them?
@@jhawk1776 have you buy from the again?

What an intro! I love it, what song did you use for the intro?

Love the intro. What brand drone are you using? Also want brand front end part was this TRQ? My guess watching video is due to tire size.

You should cut that part open and see why it wore out.
That would have of been a cool idea! I’m almost certain the bearing material in there is just destroyed!
Thanks for watching!
Poor quality bushing material, likely Chinese made.
Be safe when jacking car on a down hill brotha 🤙🏽
Purchased a1a auto trq strut and shock package and my upper stut mount since day one made noise. Do not buy any of there products
Stack'um deep sell them cheap 😅😅😅😅😅
1A lied to me over the phone and it cost me time and money. Shop elsewhere
The 5 .4 is junk
Lol, it's his daily driver, perfectly serviceable for that.

Long introduction is a waste of my time..
Like its a ferrari or something.
That’s why you get what you pay for best thing is go for OEM parts more expensive but you get quality not fraudulent parts
